Important note, do not widen the duct from back of any ducted fan plane, instead go to staples and get sheet of clear plastic paper, curl into a round tube shape, insert in back of plane's duct and have it stick out half inch, speed should increase at least 15%
   Flyin´Rollan! (64%)
*have it stick out* means to extend half inch the duct tube? Sorry, sometimes I miss something with the english. Thanks!
   SCHRODERS (50%)
Can't wait to get this...I have an E-Flite Delta-V 480 4800kv Motor which I used on my E-Flite F-16 when it first came out...before all the cheap DF motors got listed on HK...and will use a Turnigy 60 AMP Plush ESC...this combo was awesome for the F-16...hope it is also for this badboy !!
   SCHRODERS (50%)
*Flyin'Rollan! - Yeah I meant to extend the tube out at the most half inch, no longer than that...
   Flyin´Rollan! (64%)
Ok, thank you very much!

Is there any word on exactly WHEN this item will be back in stock ? I ordered on July 7. It has been more than 10-14 days. I'm really anxious to receive this Kewel Plane.
   Flyin´Rollan! (64%)
1, same question
   Bob (100%)
I have found some 3-views of the Global Hawk and I am working on my own version in CAD just now. We'll see WHO WINS this race !
   Flyin´Rollan! (64%)
keep me informed :-)
good luck!
   Bob (100%)
OK I've modeled in RHino3D the G Hawk. But It looks like it will be a BUNCH of work to build. Messy too with all the nacel fileting. So I'm back on the fence now. To fly well it'd have to be light. I've found a plan out there for the Reaper So maybe while waiting for the G-hawk, I'll have a go at the Reaper.
   Flyin´Rollan! (64%)
certainly the Hawk has a complex fuselage design, what means a difficult foamy work, so well have to wait...

Looks like a great glider, but I don't much like the ducted fan on it. Less efficient than a prop, and I can't see how it would work as a scale fan, surely the full sized one would burn the tail fin off ??
   Snuffalupagus (0%)
on the real steel GH, the V tail stabilizer and control surfaces are well outside the exhaust efflux - and not in danger of being burnt.
   Jonathan Ott (47%)
Snuffy...it's an EDF, not a turbine. No hot exhaust.

Is it made of EPO or EPS?
   Eric1180 (-53%)
My guess EPO
   FusionTiger (71%)
It is EPS. This model has been around for a few years now you can find out more by searching for 'Gunracer Global Hawk' in rcgroups.

I want this model, but its to big to ship to New Zealand?
   Lonziz (66%)
Mine is on backlog.

Only shipping to Australia is:

Shipment EMS Express to Australia (MAX 3kg) $45.41

....Lonziz
   Mr Krinkle (87%)
Definately not too big to ship to NZ, i got mine delivered to Aus.

Blind Vision (55%)
Looks alot like a perfect platform for FPV pilot -but tell me please, whats it made from ? -(the foam type)
   Asad (95%)
Not good for typical FPV usage. Ducted fans are inefficient hence shorter flight times.

   Blind Vision (55%)
i was thinking along un-powered flight, the EDF is only for getting it up there
   Asad (95%)
That could be a possibility. Didn't thought of that... Depends on how good of a glider it is. FPV equipment certainly adds weight.

Are the wings removable for transportation?
   ughsky (67%)
I've got the model from another shop. And wings are removeble. There is special plastic lock with 2 screws to hold wings together. You can see the white plastic lock and the screws on the 4-th picture from the left...

   ronchudy (67%)
how does it fly???? do you like it ? are there carbon spars installed??/do you use 2200 batteries
   skyboy (49%)
The carbon fiber spars are pictured in the full kit photo and appears to be ones that have to be installed in the wings.
   ughsky (67%)
Actually it's not good for FPV when it's powered by EDF. It flyes much better in pusher prop setup.
But with EDF it's nice model for slow fly.
You can see how it flyes on 2100mAh lipo here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKilIgmUbjs
and here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HeEEMJ_MBA
Carbon tubes for wings are included into the kit.
You have to move rear landing gears a little closer to the tail, from the standart place, because of the CG. Otherwise the model will try to land on the tail...
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Good advice on the wheels
   Martin. (40%)
First part of 2nd ughsky-film is not really an advertisement for this plane. Does it really fly that bad? Can it be flown slowly or do we have to fly it like in the 1st film (approx 75km/h) to keep it in the air?
   Snuffalupagus (0%)
I think that was the pilot - the other video shows a pretty stable plane if flown smoothly. unlike the typical speedy EDF unit, this looks like it was made to cruise slow and easy. use the motor to get to altitude, chop the throttle and glide it for a while, then do it again.
   mctruk (67%)
HI, The wing root has a plastic end cap that is glued on and then the two end caps interlock and are secured to the fuz with a two long bolts that secure the wings together and to the fuz. Hope this helps!

How about this motor: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=11160

and this battery: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9177

Looks like a suitable combination. Some more motors: 3500kV: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10929&Product_Name=Turnigy_2810_EDF_Outrunner_3500kv_for_55/64mm http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10925&Product_Name=Turnigy_2815_EDF_Outrunner_3500kv_for_55/64mm 3600kV: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10933&Product_Name=Turnigy_2810_EDF_Outrunner_3600kv_for_55/64mm 3800kV: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10928&Product_Name=Turnigy_2810_EDF_Outrunner_3800kv_for_55/64mm 4000kV: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10932&Product_Name=Turnigy_2810_EDF_Outrunner_4000kv_for_55/64mm http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10924&Product_Name=Turnigy_2815_EDF_Outrunner_4000kv_for_55/64mm All run on 3S lipos. Plus most of them are in stock compared to the out of stock one you linked to.

Wow, looks great! PLEASE send this thing to the GERMAN WAREHOUSE!!!!
   apolmc (22%)
You can convert it to a push or pull prop for longer run time
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Really ? That seams like it would be difficult. Also also it would look kinda ... but ugly if you did lol.
   apolmc (22%)
Well I wouldn't do it just one of the guys mentioned that it would be more efficient with a longer run time. For arials just glide have a set of shorter wings for chase scenes. Vector Thrusters? Possible.lol.
   Stuart (20%)
I am not sure of the type of foam it is. For Me I don't really worry what it is made of if I crash it I will do my best to fix it. the foam though does feel really smooth and very strong not much flex to it.
   Snuffalupagus (0%)
it is EPS you'll need foam safe CA - and non solvent based paints if you choose to paint it. I'm painting mine (I paint the underside of the wings of all my planes Dark olive drab, and add yellow flashes to the wing and tail tips) I also painted the canopy flat black. I use Acrylic paint thinned to the consistency of half and half milk with 50/50 water and windex and spray it on. works great and dries in about an hour. 100% EPS safe looks like hell until it self levels and dries, looks very very nice when it's fully dry.
