100% real woven carbon fiber sheet. Excellent for reinforcing a fuselage or bulkhead. Extremely strong yet very light. Can be cut with a bandsaw, jigsaw or hacksaw (use a metal blade).
I woud like to know some of the best epoxy glue's for the carbon fiber,I am useing my board to strethen a WALKERA V400D02 I am useing Carbon AROW shafting for the tail boom so the rist of the frame has to be HULKING STRONG,
I will post photos on this venture.
Hi,I use DEVCON 30 minute and it works good.Make sure you scuff up the spots with sand paper or rotary tool (Dremal tool)you are going to apply the epoxy.JB Weld also works good also, but its ugly grey.Rule of thumb is the longer set time the stronger the epoxy is.Hope this helps.JK.
I purchased this sheet of Carbon fibre only to find that when it arrived it was 1mm thick.
The tag on the sheet says 1.5mm,but it is 1mm.
Come on guys, sort the QC out.
Any ideas on to make a box or other shape with these sheets? maybe some sort of tongue and grove and glue combination? I'm looking for something to be strong enough to take some light impact on grass.
you cannot mold these sheets to your shape, these are mainly for firewalls or other flat plate lightweight uses. They are super strong and lighter than 1.5mm plywood. I use for firewalls and landing gear mounts, also wing hold downs. plus the look is super cool.
You need PRODUCT ID: 3KCAP180-1. The process is easy, same technique as fiberglass. In addition, you lay the cloth in different directions for maximum strength. To mold parts, you need a mold and special plastic sheet (can't recall name) resin won't stick to. Remember to squeeze out as much resin as possible, strength is in fiber not the shiny resin.
Very true about the fibers and smoke fumes from cutting CF, use a dust mask and googles. I might also add cutting with a dremel is optimal and actually using the new plastic cutting wheel eliminates alot of smoke and gives clean cuts.
Hello! I need some info please can you help me? I want to cut some shapes from this one, lets say a star that is tricky to cut or similar strange shapes. Can I cut this with a CNC router, or I need an other machine? Because I want the cuts to be precise! Thanks!!!
i wish to have a cnc is the best way for you to get clean perfect cuts iff you are from portugal you could do some cotings for my saw and sanding is not so clean no conpares at all
Great stuff for the price. It is just as described. Looking closely at it I can see what looks like small scratches in the finish. Not the same quality as some carbon sheets I have had but it is still well worth the price. I'll buy more for my next project.
