Is it possible for one of you guys who understand how this thing works to write a mini manual in comprehensive English. I've bought one and cannot figure out how it works. Why do I have to caliberate it? Why does it show a reading when connected to battery but not to the speed controller? Why is the reading meaningless? Thanks to whoever can help me out

Well sir i cam hear looking to buy a Good Amp Metter and knoticed your question,i am sory to your missunderstanding of this Unit . I can say it will only do test to o-30 volt / and 100 amp/ This is Ok if you intend toonly use it on a few type things . Maby batterys or any power you need to test Amps . tho not large enough to be usefull for me . as i use 80 volt . and 80 amp systems. so its not good for me . tho the 30amps islow and voltage low / is toy /..Have good luck my friend buy another or go to Youtube for your Instructions New Instructions Uploaded for your help.thank you.

INFO! I found out how to calibrate it!! I accidentally held down the little "blue button" as I was plugging in the battery. This made it come up in the calibrate mode. After a calibration - and remember to SAVE - it has worked perfectly every time.

Can I measure the power from the load with this wattmeter.?
 BuLLsNaKe 1309 points
Yes you can find out the input power of the motor and you can get the rpm for propeller so that the rpm gives you the power from the load good wattmeter

Bullshi sorry bullsnake just thinks of the first thing that passes through his head that he thinks sounds good and uses it on 3 different meters. His answers are complete BS. Click on his name and you can see all his mistakes.

Can I use the wattmeter to cut off battery power whenever the voltage is dropping below certain voltage level?
 Yoav 11 points
This device won't do it for you.
 ILikeRCThings 34 points
You can't use this device to shut off, but most ESCs do have that function. You just have to activate it, and at 3 volts per lipo cell the esc will shut off the motor.

Does it work with 2S LiFe? Does it indicates capacity (mAh) that takes from battery? I need this device for receiver pack.
 Hansc 373 points
It shows the Amps it took yes. For a receiver you don't really need this one. You're probably better off with a simple battery monitor with display.
 topcom 31 points
I use LiFe that has flat discharge characteristic, so battery monitor that indicate voltage only is not useful.
 Straight Up 743 points
Hansc, Amps and charge are different parameters, which modellers mistakenly use interchangeably. I agree this item shows Amps, but CHARGE is current x time, usually quoted as Amp.hours or milli-amp.hours. I don't see consumed charge on any display.

When working voltage is 8-30V, will it work with 2S LiPo packs? Under load, there can be lower voltage than 8V...
 AdrianGM 128 points
According to the elpecificaciones no ... I'm not going to try it:) Segun las elpecificaciones no... yo no voy a probarlo :)
 marhar 16 points
I've been using it with 2S packs, and haven't seen any problems.

Does this come with the XT60 connectors?
 FedotoFF 77 points
The given device goes without connectors. Wires have no marks that complicates installation of connectors.
 AdrianGM 128 points
Connector has no solded, nor is any to put it. No tiene ningun conector soldado, ni viene ninguno para que lo pongas.

... looks like AEORC product P1 - for that you'll find an 1-page instruction sheet on their homepage.
 Hansc 373 points
looks very similar indeed. I couldn't find the manual though...

Does this unit show the max values when you trottle back. Some units only show "live" figures which can be tricky when trying to read and hold onto the model at the same time.
 Robbie 1088 points
I think so, description says "X1 wattmeter records Highest and lowest voltage, Amps and highest watt reading."
 Miles-away 510 points
In the small picture you can see it:
Vm: Minimum Voltage
Vp: Maximum Voltage
Im: Minimum Current
Ip: Maximum Current
And the description also says, that it records the maximum power (watts)

these units are a load of ****. my advise is dont buy it
 granpeter 21 points
This unit shows the highest reading during any one powered up session.
 casey34 28 points
My thoughts exactly pindro. I have one blank display and find no help in the instruction sheet. One assumes that black is negative (doesn't one?) Anyone got a result from a 2s pack? I think I have wasted my cash.
 marhar 16 points
no problem with 2S here...
 Grant 7 points
I bought it hopes that the meter would hold onto the max or peek voltage but if it does, it won't hold it for very long before some lower voltage reading takes it's place. It is also very unreliable as to the readings to gives. I did get into calibrate function but it hasn't held and I've had to adjust it multiple times to keep the voltage accurate. The current is not adjustable zeroable (as far as I know) and I get a 0.1A reading and typically a 0.5W output with nothing plugged into the "out" side of the meter but the Watt value can fluctuate as high as 1.2W with no load attached.

great product, works well. you can solder multiple connectors so if you run a mix of deans, xt60 and jst's you only need one device to test it all!!

Mine working fine. I have checked the data with a multimeter and there was no diference. It shows the voltage and amps precisely.

If you're serious about your electric motors you get one of these. Don't bother buying the cheaper HK-010 watt meter since the results of that one just aren't anything near the actual value. This one is a much better tool for getting correct measurements. And you can even get it in the air and read out the in flight information.

Hi, yesterday receive my X1.First checking electronic circuit inside looks OK, but two points soldered again(for that price it's nothing for skiled modelar) After preparatin of proper connections according to inlet(battery) & outlet(ubec) side, start checking with my 70mm EDF (4s1800mah) and absolutely OK. Displaying all offered paramiters(for eg.460Watt 32Amps 15,6V) that quite enough to be calculate propper drive & components. About manual calibration is small mistake in instraction, proper procedure is press the booton & symultaneously connect power(battery) then calibration procedure begining. To this time all my motors (in planes too) are checked (bigest 870 Watt) but device working on cold & cool, that's all.In my opinion good purchase.
