Email arrived that they were in stock. I ordered 2 sets along with a few other items and now I see these are on backorder. I am not impressed.
Rodney  1 points - 5/14/2013

ridiculous these are so hard to get anymore, there little pices of plastic, not a freeking complex item.

Come on HobbyKing, this is the last thing in my order!!

I just wondering what means stock updated frequently 30-45 days...?? This item is out of stock since mid Novemeber 2012 !!! Come on guys do something.
michael  1 points - 4/16/2013

Just wondering when more will be available. My Tricopter is grounded with out the special bits of plastic..
Jerome K  10 points - 4/14/2013

On a tri copter, could you physically use a 1047 and a 1045 together? or would this not be advisable. Just starting in quads/tris.
 mena142 746 points
It will work, but you will have to trim the tricopter to compensate, which means one motor will always run fasteer than the others. Tricopter have very forgiving as far as props go, while on quads you almost HAVE to use specific props.
Len  1 points - 4/13/2013

What is the difference between RD-1047 and EP-1047 that is mentioned on the web? Are they the same thing?
 Jerome K 10 points
Hey Len, what I found out is the RD is pretty much for slow fly the prop will bend forward in flight. The DD is a straighter prop, not so much curved as the slow fly and will keep it's shape and get higher speed. EP stands for Electric prop. Hope this helps. The #'s 1047 a for the length 10" and the pitch 4.7" of thrust or distance, 1105 would be an 11" lenth and 5" of length or distance traveled.
 mena142 746 points
Just to chip in, RD stands for "Reduced Drive" which somewhat described the RPM it withstands. DD is direct drive, for faster spinning, and HD is hyperdrive, for very fast spinning. SF props are "slow fly".

Does anyone know when more stock is due? Been a good two months and still nothing
REH4686  1 points - 3/24/2013

are all 6 of the GWS EP Propellers (RD-1047 254x119mm) (6pcs/set) the same rotation, or are 3 CW and 3 CCW? Please advise to
 mena142 746 points
All are left hand rotation (CCW)
 REH4686 1 points
are they available in right hand rotation (CW)?
 mena142 746 points
Look under Multi-Rotors & Parts > Propellers, theres a bunch of diferent combination of CW and CCW props. Good luck.

Whats the difference between the RD and EP? I have the GWS EP1047 props for my tricopter and they only work when the motor spins counter clockwise.
 REH4686 1 points
Hi caleb, I've encountered the same problem. I'm using the KK2 board for my Tri and the configuration has the two front motors counter rotating should I juat configure all three to turn CCW with the GWS EP Propeller (RD-1047 254x119mm) (6pcs/set)?
 mena142 746 points
Tricopter don't need counter rotating props of any sorts, that's one of the main advantage of them. As they YAW with the tail servo unlike quads that YAW with the props torque, you don't need different props, and the torque effect they have is minimal.

This prop has a 3mm dia. mounting hole, the motor I have has a 4mm shaft dia. Is it common to drill out these types of props to fit the motor? If it is what tool should I use to drill it out?
 sandman_br 483 points
buy a Knife Edge Reamer tool. Here in hk website you can find it
 Yuriy 1 points
Hello! yes you could dril(you can use electrik drill) this prop to 4 mm . But I use this prop with save prop.
 Martin 5 points
Thanks for the tips. I have a Park450 1050kv motor which came with a prop-adapter. The adapter fits the 4mm shaft of the motor and is designed for a 6mm prop. How do I buy a prop with a 6mm diameter mount? It isn't a common spec provided on the website. Do most people just drill them out? Is there an adapter that converts from 4mm shaft to 3mm prop? Am I missing something obvious here?
 RonRC 2115 points
I have been carefully drilling these props out on my drill press. Probably not the best thing to do, but so far it has worked out quite well. I purchased these for my Xcopter and didn't realize when I ordered them the hole was so small. Hope this helps.
 Martin 5 points
Drilling or reaming out a plastic prop seems strange to me. There must be a way to either purchase a prop with the correct dia. mounting hole or a prop adapter to take it from a 4mm motor shaft to a 3mm prop shaft. Or in my case to use the 4mm to 6mm prop adapter that comes with the motor and use a 6mm dia hole prop.
 RonRC 2115 points
Martin, APC has slowflyer 10x4.7 props normal and pusher that have inserts to fit just about any prop adapter. That's what I'll be using from now on.
 Drugos 2003 points
Yes, it is.Use an electric driller. However you can buy a spinner or a prop saver that will reduce the diameter of the shaft to 3mm.
 Martin 5 points
Do you know if HK sells a 4mm to 3mm spinner or prop saver? I wasn't able to find one.
 Drugos 2003 points
You can't find one because HK says only the diameter of the motor shaft in the specifications of the prop saver/spinner.I use this prop saver:
Product ID: 19-502-4mX10
 ben 5 points
yea hobbyking only does props with holes for small motors so i did the same to fit a larger shaft and i should think aslong as you drill in the centre and dont take too much structural integrity away then it will be fine
 Jerome K 10 points
I use a small rat tail file, twist it backwards, so as not to 'dig' the file in the prop. Turn counter clockwise with the file and pulling out, turn the prop over and re-peat. I've tried a drill, and usually end up making a tilted hole. With the rat tail file works great. May take a bit longer, but you know it's straight then.
 RonRC 2115 points
Great idea Jerome! I'll have to try that.
Molder  5 points - 4/9/2012

Dear HK, where is DD version of this thing?
 majik01 2906 points
Should be in the same GWS prop section you were looking at. Are you sure there is a GWS 1047 DD prop? I know there is are 10x6 and 10x8 DD's but I have not come across a GWS 1047 DD here or in the other sites I buy props from.
 majik01 2906 points
For what it's worth, there's a whole range of multirotor props in the multirotor section but have been out of stock for some time.
 Drugos 2003 points
Hobby King hasn't the DD version of this prop.

Dude .. these are reverse direction slow fly propellers. Is there even an APC equivalent? If you connect this to your model (after you reverse the motor) which has built in torque correction angles (down / right) your model will fly really crazy and would be a handful to control.
 majik01 2906 points
I stand corrected - there is an APC slow fly 10147 reverse prop except that they are not available here at HK.
 RonRC 2115 points
majik, there is an APC equivalent, but it cost more. I'm getting these for my next quad along with the DJI Naza controller.

So when I added this to my cart and paid for the order before the 14th of December. When I added this to my cart, the message said it was back ordered and would be in stock in 7 to 30 days. I have waited for, lets say 15 days and I asked hk what the ETA would be on this item. They replied saying it would take up to 45 days. That's longer than I was told when I placed my order AND I have already waited 15 days. Has anyone had an experience like this? What do you guys think? 45 days from now? 7-30 days from now? 30 days from when I ordered? 45 days from when I ordered?
 Drugos 2003 points
Hobby King says to wait 30-45 days but it is not true. You have to wait that they will restock the prop and they will send it to you.It could take 7-15-30-45 days or more.
 Drugos 2003 points
7-15-30-45 days or more from when the prop became out of stock.
 mena142 746 points
While most of the time they will give you an over estimate, its christmas season and mail is a mess right now, and also the chinese new year is around the corner. Just be patient, it will prop be in stock in a couple weks.

How much thrust can these push?
 trumpy 211 points
Thrust will depend on your motor and rpm of course . But if you mean how many grams before they become inefficient or are overloaded , I regularly subject them to 8-900 grams and they hold up ok
 super9459 17 points
I am using a 800kv motor on a 3 cell battery

I've reached motor limits in 700 gr, and prop was ok. No cavitations. 7000 RPM aprox.

I have been using it in a 600gr plane with a HTX 750kv. Plane is taking off in 1.5 meters.

I use them on my tricopter. 3 800kv motors with a 3S LiPo can lift 1kg of payload quite well.

which propeller adapter or propeller saver can be use with 3mm motor shaft?
 trumpy 211 points
G'day George , these GWS props fit straight on a 3mm threaded shaft and are bolted on , if shaft is plain then any 3mm prop saver will work with an O-ring over the prop . Because putting links here doesnt work copy/paste 3MPRPSVR into the search bar on the left and it will take you to a 10 pack of savers and bands for under 3 bucks ! Best value around !
 trumpy 211 points
oops Sorry ! LOL that code was for the single one .. the 10 pack is here OR019-00501-3 same deal, copy paste into search and it will find it for you !
 Onur 7 points
hi,you can use this saver with your motor shaft :) www.link

Does anyone know if there is CCW variant of this prop?
 Dr.LuckyLuke 318 points
This looks like CCW. But if you are looking for CW (second direction) of this prop I don't think you will find it here on HC. Try to search for some other pair in same sizes. Just click on big image "Compare" and it will take you to Prop. Finder page.

Does them suit to a Turnigy Park450 Brushless Outrunner 890kv?
I'd like to use them to buil quadrocopter.
There are puller propellers, is there a pusher type of the same size?
 axskin 14 points
i think not, on the same size
 wolfes1126 3365 points
Hi there,
i am also using these for Tri, Quad and Hexacopter.
They are great Props to use with the Kinda MOtor you are useing.
I however am using the 8xxKV Motor for the AXN Floater that are 7 USD and are doing a great Job with these Props as well.
I am using Turnigy Plush 18A ESCs on my TRICOPTER with the above mentioned Motors and these Props.
However if you use no CCW Props on a Quad you will loose some Performance as 2 Props are supposed to be regular Props and 2 are CCW CounterClo
 deadduck 40 points
GWS does not make a "pusher" prop of this size. If you want puller and pusher props, consider using the GWS 3 blade props, they come in both versions. A 3 blade 9 x 5 will replace a 10 x 4.7 two blade www.link

 VROOM 194 points
All you have to do is turn the prop around for a pusher. You only need a special prop if its counter rotating. That should work fine for you.
 AlexSolo 151 points
APC has 10x5 SF couples of CW & CCW props. It's perfect for wide range of quad- and above x-copters. I'm using it with four Turnigy 2826SK 1000KV motors. Lots of payload! We all should ask HK to stock these props!
 Crampy 186 points
Go for the DD series GWS props. They make the 10x6 in standard and counter rotating, so perfect for your quadcopter. Either them, or try some APC props.
 krtek2k 106 points
Yes , it suit to this motor.
But like pusher/puller here on HK is nearly available

It is very hard to find a set of these CCW props, You should better get 10x4.7SFP props, as they're easier to source from stores like ************. Thank You!
 renatoa 40 points
These are low quality, will break fast.
Go for these www.link
 RaJack 7 points
Which pair of propeller outrunners would be the least power hungry? I'm trying to maximize flytime for quad copter.
 AlexSolo 151 points
Talking about CCW props, it's not too mach to choose from. I beleive that the best way is using 850KV or lower with 3S and 10X4.5SF two-blade MultiCoper's props. Three-blade props are less efficient.
heyya  190 points - 10/11/2010

Does anyone know what is the allowed maximum prop speed?
 wolfes1126 3365 points
Till they come apart LOL
 Gerry01 2991 points
Long before they brake, the'll begin to cavitate. Sound will be different, RPM will go up easily, and push will go down. You'll notice all than if you try it in a static test. I've tried this propeller up to 7000 RPM, no problems...
 Luke 3 points
You probably already realize they are flexible props, the higher the rpm and the more air they push, you will see them bend slightly forward, they also twist a little, becoming slightly lower pitched, so a little bend is ok, just use your judgement and make sure they don't bend too much.
joshuyo  124 points - 5/22/2010

If anyone was wondering...
