  Im planning to buy Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx & Rx V2 (Mode 2) but Im not sure I will find compatible receiver for it 3-4 months later. Do you guaranteed to supply its receiver? For example v1 receivers are out of stock and v1 transmitters are rubbish now.

  OK so you need to program this Tx via a PC - but how about switching between different models, is that possible, and how much model memories does it have?

  This transmitter needs a PC connexion to be programmed but I can read :
"Included*
1 x 2.4Ghz transmitter
1 x 2.4Ghz Receiver
1 x Bind Plug.",

But ...nothing about the cable !

Is it included or do I need to order it separately (wich product ID ?)?
Thanks....

-Reply from Rexy03 (1513 points);
it is not included and needs to be ordered separately if required " Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx USB Cable SKU: FS-L001"

  Is there a Li Po battery that will go in the flat space for 8x AA batteries in this transmitter?

-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Vere yes there is. Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack (SKU: T1450-TX-3) is made just to fit where the 8 x AAs did fit. You will need to do a little soldering! I hope this helps.

  Problems with cable drivers and software for programming the v1 have been a nightmare for me, I am considering ****ing my v1 transmitter and 2 new v1 receivers. Is the cable and programming system for the v2 any different?

-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
It's the same cable and driver and software... if you want to get rid of soft, you may consider the Turnigy 9x. Works with the same line of receivers than this Tx.
-Reply from Vere (25 points);
I want a computer interface for programming. I just want one that the cable and drivers work on Windows7 or XP. I don't expect that everything 'Just works" but it is good when with a bit of effort things work eventually. I haven't had that degree of success with this cable. Also this transmitter has a knob rather than a switch for flaps which I would prefer. Any good tips for how to get drivers/cable to work. have tried Windows7, XP, Unix Ubuntu. I have had things work fro a couple of minutes so I know the cable is intact, but no meaningful function for long enough to program the Tx
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
If the driver is ok but hardware sometimes works and stops, maybe you're having a hard issue. What happened to my Tx is that the mini DIN connector in the back of the Tx didn't make good electrical contact, so I had the same behavior than you have. Had to let the Tx rest on the desk, and that's all, connector was pressed and everything worked. Maybe your cable has something like that. Besides, on XP drivers work, but on w7, I tried several times, with no success.
-Reply from Vere (25 points);
Thanks, will persevere a little longer with v1 but if it won't go I wouldn't buy v2
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Vere this is a on going problem with the T6config and Rc Radio. The software works fine with Xp and earlier and even Macs but Win7 and Win8 there are issues. Getting the correct cable "Drivers" is important. In the mean time, so you may get flying, you can use Turnigy Servo Signal Reverser (SKU: SIG-REV) just to reverse a servo (only two dollars)

  Hello everybody. i read on this side more differet opinions on useing this Tx with PC on simulators (Aerofly Pro Deluxe and Realflight G4), with original or no original USB cable. so, lets go to give on right way!!! i bought this Tx 2 weeks ago. first, i had to rebuilt it on Mode 1, becouse Mode 2 was only in stock. not problem for clever Slovak Hands :-). it takes me about 1 hour work with my tools. 2 weeks before i bought my HK-T6A i purschuase univerzal USB simulator cable from ****. this is link for this cable: *******cgi.********/RC-USB-Flight-Simulator-FMS-Cable-Helicopter-Controller-/170607696976?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b902dc50 this cable i bought for my Hitec Optic 6 40Mhz....cable work perfect...this univerzal cable include conectors for JR, Futaba, Hitec and conector of type PS2 which is compatible with HK-T6A, so i try to connect and simulate in PC simulator Aerofly Pro Deluxe. everything work perfect. i calibrated Tx, set up channels and flew!!! really no problem with no original cable. all runnig in PC with WINDOWS 7 32bit!!! now, i wait for original cable from HC for programing HK-T6A. after i receive cable and try to connect for programing and simulate, i give here for you more real opinions. if you want to more information about this problem, dont you wory to contact me and write your questions. good luck.

Find on internet program t6recalibrate. This program probably is on rcgroups with instruction. I have similar problem and t6recalibrate was helped.
-Reply from Seren (123 points);
you must have set limited range's with the DR tab. And you need to go to DR tab and set and - to the zero setting. This will give you full range again

  I need to obtain reverse on elevator ( channel 2 ) and channels 5 and 6 but config pannel do not answer.
Is there somebody able to explain how to do it ?
Thank you.

-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Reducteurfou I can explain how to, but first you must have the Cable ( Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx USB Cable SKU: FS-L001) and down load and install the Program and Driver for it. The Software and Driver can be downloaded from the Purple File Tab above. Now to reverse Channel 2 is easy. Once you you run the Software and look around you will see HOW? (BUT first save the Standard Setup). Save it to your PC. Tell me when you have that done!

  Key features indicate "trainer system option" , but how to get it ? May be by plug for USB cable, at rear of transmitter , but is cable used with Turnigy 9X compatible with ? and there is no "trainer button" , so is it planned to use right or left switch, on top of transmitter ?
Thank you for help.

****
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Red when is says "trainer system option" it does mean you can plug it into a Computer and run a Sim with it. I know of no cable that lets you buddy this Transmitter. You could us Wireless Buddy Box System 8CH (Dual RX Controller) (SKU: A-DualREC). It goes in the plane with 2 receivers. Very Cool!
-Reply from pianojam (6 points);
I'm a little late, but I came across a file that shows how to add the trainer function by adding a momentary switch and using a modified S-video cable. Trainer modes A note in the PDF says you do not have to change anything to use one as a student, but the teacher will have to have the switch put in. Or you could (I am hoping) use the T6A as the student model and another remote (like 9XR) as a teacher (which already has a trainer switch) -- you'd just need the right s-video to 1/8" cable. I am searching for this now, and I'll post my results if I find out anything about the cable.

  Hi there,
Felar you seam to be the most experienced person with that in this forum. The receiver has two antennas. Since our model is extremely small, there is absolutely no space for the small satellite antenna. Even the main receiver did fit in the model only after modification. We deceided to disconnect the satellite from the main receiver and to operate the model only via the main. I did not find anything in an instruction about that. Is this doable or a big risk? Would be glad to get an opinion on that by Felar or anybody.

-Reply from Felar Furlong (1117 points);
sorry, i haven't tried this rx without satellite. but i believe there is an increased risk of signal loss due to short single antennae orientation.
-Reply from rcmodelreviews. (508 points);
Yes, I found that without the satellite, there was an occasional (but very noticeable) loss of signal at ranges as close as 150 yards or so. This was dependent on the model's orientation. The FlySky receivers aren't particularly sensitive so they're susceptible to the effects of cross-polarization and antenna nulls if you don't use the satellite.
-Reply from Denis56 (28 points);
Satellite is indeed necessary, otherwise you'll lose signal depending upon model's orientation. Plastic casings of both main and satellite recievers can be removed, it saves a lot of space.
-Reply from James (27 points);
No go! I plugged the ESC into CH 2 (or CH3) then turned the tx on, then connected the rx batt. ESC makes a 3-tone da-da-da but I don't have any control. Can anyone help me please? Also tried the match instructions (don't work either) and no LEDs on rx light up. ???

  Can I install several receives to different models boats. And switching between them by binding one or the other (with the same set up in memory), to get multiple models running on one transmitter.
Vlad

-Reply from Kapitan-Panika (86 points);
How do you want to binding one or the other when your models are in the water?
-Reply from Malfamartin (952 points);
Yes Vlad! You can have as many models on one transmitter as you like. If you use them at the same time you will have caos :-)
If you whant forward and reverse on your transmitter throttle stick, you have to take the ratchet off and install a spring and a lever arm.
-Reply from Fugitive_Bill (430 points);
Kapitan-Panika, When your model is on water, get in row boat and paddle out, recover model, bind, return model to water, row boat back to shore - too easy.

  Can anyone help with a LINUX configuration program? I got a little Acer Aspire One netbook that runs Ubuntu 9.04 UNR that is so small it would make programming the TX at the field an absolute pleasure. Please help!

-Reply from Pavel (7 points);
I need buy it and try. I think kernel should detect it as ttyUSB or etc., from W2K stand point it is COM port. so if you already have transmitter, try to connect it to linux to see what will be reported in /var/log/meassages log file. I think GUI in windows convert GUI entries and send text commands to serial port.. so maybe we can do something with it. If not we can try use original SW via wine-hq emulator..

  It only has ONE MODEL MEMORY on board. The 4 model memory is incorrect. It is a manufacturer misprint/misinterpretation that has followed this radio through it's various rebadging.
You can store infinate model memories on your PC but you have to use the PC to upload everytime you want to change the radio's model memory.

  Hello all. My Tx worked fine with XP and Vista 32 with the "Vista" cable sold by Hobbyking. The drivers for CP2102 have to be downloaded from Sylab, the releases found from Hobbyking or Turborix do not seem to work here. One question: anybody knows how to use the training function? What is the pinout for the trainer cable?

-Reply from ay6810 (238 points);
From what I've tried there's no training function unless I haven't discovered it yet.
-Reply from Denis56 (28 points);
Thanks. I suspected something like that, but the word "trainer" is engraved on the back of the case, near the PC plug. No harm asking, just in case...
-Reply from ay6810 (238 points);
One of the flying buddies managed to get PhoenixSim flying software to recognise this transmitter via its cable. Not sure how its done but here's a possibility.
-Reply from Denis56 (28 points);
Thanks, good news, I'll see on my side if I can find the pinout. If you can extract the PPM modulation, for sure you can use some kind of buddy box... More to come.

  Mode change and boat/car conversions?
Simple! Just move the hardware from right to left side. Hardware are the ratchet, spring and lever arm. I have done that on two of my TX so they work on my cars and boats having forward and reverse. It would be nice if every Tx had an extra set of these hardware for boat/car conversions.

  can you set up multiple model memory? I understand you use PC software but if I get 2 receivers can I use the TX with 2 different planes?

-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
you can save multiple models on your computer, if you want to fly a plane you just load that one on your computer. and technicaly you should be able to fly planes with different receivers as long as they are bound to the TX. hope this helps.
-Reply from Haych (20 points);
Thanks mate, i assumed that was the case but hadnt read it anywhere... cheers.
-Reply from F100CUFFLINK (1043 points);
i dont think this holds more than 1 plane , unless it has a memory card thats what it need to have maltiple planes. this is not a computor transmitter dud. seting up on the computor is not what you think.
-Reply from Haych (20 points);
i know the radio doesn't hold more than one plane, its obvious its not a computer radio... I asked if you use multiple models using something like a save feature on the pc software so when I want to use another model, I can simply hook up to PC and load that models data to the radio. That would save me having to either move the rx from plane to plane each time or purchase a tx for each plane. Do you have this radio cufflink?

Simple! Just move the hardware from right to left side. Hardware are the ratchet, spring and lever arm. I have done that on two of my TX so they work on my cars and boats having forward and reverse. It would be nice if every Tx had an extra set of these hardware for boat/car conversions.

  Do they make a radio you can use on a boat that has more then 3 channels? or can you use any radio with the throttle on the left side (mode 1 I think) that self centers after you release the stick? -Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
Throttle on the left would be mode 2, but every radio with more than 2ch comes with one stick without the spring. You can buy a mode 1 radio and use ch1 (the one on the left up-down stick in mode 1) as throttle, it will come qith the spring on it.

  on my reciever the aerial seems to have a bend in it at the last 30mm of the heat shrink,is it possible to straighten it or should i leave it with a bend in it,if so will it affect its performance/range or is it possible to remove heatshrink, straighten and put on new heat shrink or should it be ok to leave bend in antenna. thanks

-Reply from Seren (123 points);
Why are you worried about this bend. If you do a range check and a good respectable distance is achieved then all is fine. If not then it is faulty and should be returned for a straight one. If you cut or replace this will harm your warranty.

Can anyone tell me How much Voltage and current should be used to power up the transmitter and receiver?

-Reply from Sumeet (161 points);
Ye hui naa baat...
Good question for guys who are new in RC.
Well, you can use 4.8 to 6 volts and max. 2 Amp to power up the receiver.
For transmitter it is 8 X 'AA' batteries which equals to 12 volts. [Turnigy 2300mah AA battery NiMH (True Capacity)] would be great for Transmitter. As they are cheap so, no worry about budget.
Thanks.

  I cant get my new t6A Transmitter/receiver to work. The transmitter doesn’t appear to be communicating with the receiver. I have checked the red leds on the receiver’s and they are “steady on”. When I plug the battery in I just get a beep, beep, beep ……. sound coming from the engine area in the plane but none of the controls work. I have downloaded the T6a config software and drivers recommended on the internet but I can’t seem to get this to work either, the software won’t talk to the transmitter via the USB cable, can anyone suggest what may be the problem?

-Reply from Willyfissi (49 points);
You must bind tx and rx! 1) Put BIND Plug on BAT connector (bind plug is a normal servo connector with signal and ground pin in short circuit) 2) Connect ESC to any free channel 3) Connect battery to ESC (powers on RX). Led on RX module(s) blink: wait for binding 4) While holding pressed the bind switch, power on TX 5) Hold down bind switch until LED on RX module(s) stay solid. 6) Relase bind switch on TX, unconnect battery and bind plug. That's all. Willy.

  Can lipo batters be used in the HK-T6a-m1? If so which lipo battery is suitable

-Reply from Rexy03 (1513 points);
yes you can, but you will need to solder in a female JR servo lead to connect to the battery, there a few ways to do this and there are a few web sites that show you how, the lipo you need is a Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack.
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Hendrik Hobby King sell the battery!!! Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack SKU: T1450-TX-3 It is quite cheap too. It is made to fit just where the 8 x AA went.
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
If you have an old 3S lipo small enough to fit inside the compartment, you can use it. I have an old 11.1v 1300 mAh lipo from my first heli, and I can use it in the Tx for weeks, because Tx power requirements are low. If you need to buy one Turnigy 1450mAh 3S batt fits ok.
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Gerry01 but this can be dangerous? The S? rate need to be LOW. So what S rate do you have and do you think your advice was good! If Hendrik, uses a good battery (That Is Old) he could burn something out. Please do not be angry, I am learning too!
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
There is no danger at all. C rating you say? in batteries is like amps in power supply, it tells you how much current you cant take, not how much the battery is going to push. The Rx will take the mA it needs. I still have my 10C old batt in one Tx and a new 20C small 700 mAh in another one. The only way to hurt a battery is to take more current than the maximum, and nothing will happen if you take less current.
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Sorry NOT S yes C rate! I was not worried about the BATTERY! I was worried about the transmitter! Gerry01 if you say it is OK then OK but, I just wondering why we do not just use, all our old LIPOs as TX batteries? I though the HIGH AMPS would hurt the transmitter???? HELP PLEASE
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
I can't tell you why you do not use old lipos* but I've been doing it for years. In the same way the high amps on your car battery won't cook the small clock that ticks in your car's cockpit, your old 20C lipo won't cook your Tx. It's Ohms's law: Tx will take only the needed current.
-Reply from Hendrik (17 points);
Thanks for the help
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
So we are saying it will only draw the current it needs and will not over heat? So why make a 1s to 5s LIPO for transmitters. Gerry01 I am not trying to go against you (I have enough members that hate me already). I just want to be sure! THANKS
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
So this is the battery you need Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack SKU: T1450-TX-3. It fits and is made for the JOB for under $8 (The listing says: The T1450TX-3 lipo pack is an excellent replacement in radios which used 8 x AA cells in flat formation, such as many Futaba or Sanwa models.) Good Flying!
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Please forgive me I wrote 1s to 5s. It should of been 1C to 5C,
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
Hendrik, you're welcome. NewToHobbyking, it's as I say: the Tx will take the current it needs. 1C to 5C lipos are cheaper (or should be) because they need less metal to take the current out to the charge. And can be build to last longer holding the charge.

  Can anybody tell me what the knobs and switches at the top of the remote transmitter do? I downloaded the manual, but it doesn't help much. I assume they have something to do with channels 5 and 6, since the 4 channel controller doesn't have them. For controlling an airplane, what would you typically use these for?

-Reply from cleansurf2 (393 points);
Yes, Knobs do CHL 5 & 6. Could use it for spoiler, maybe landing gear (both are probably normaly switch though not analoge control like the knob). I used one for spoiler/air break, I think I had to go to heli mode to enable it though.

  I have just installed this TX/RX in a 450 class helicopter. The set up went smoothly, and the bird flies great, but the TX/RX has a glitch in it, it losses signal for about 0.5 to 1 second at least every minute or so. Needless to say this could be disasterous if you are doing 3d. I am wondering if anyone else has had a glitching problem and fixed it. As well, I have let my batteries in the TX run down to about half (yellow light when you turn the TX on) Could this be the problem?

Thanks,

  anyone can help me to choose & install lipo battery into my TX? newbie here.. Thanks

-Reply from __Fulg (250 points);
I use a small Rhino 3S 750mAh LiPo, available from here. It fits well with the battery cover in place. I just opened the transmitter and soldered a JST plug on the motherboard (follow the existing battery wiring to find out where to solder). I did not cut any wires in case I need to go back to NiMH batteries later... I can post a picture if you want but it was really easy to figure out, just use a voltmeter to double-check before and after soldering. Make sure you didn't make a mistake before plugging the LiPo. Note, there is a charge plug on the side of the transmitter, DO NOT USE IT, especially with a LiPo inside.
-Reply from Seren (123 points);
As your radio uses 9.6volts a 7.4 lipo will only light red LED. And as there is no half way voltage between 7.4V and 11.1V it's not worth it. You can do this with 11.1 lipo but be very careful as most lipos when charged often have 13 or even 15 volts in them. If your transmitter is sensitive to over charge it will blow!

I own both of these transmitters and they do not have the same connectors for trainer. I don't think it is possible
-Reply from pianojam (6 points);
If you can use the programming port on the T6A for a simulator, it should be the same protocol as the 9XR even if they are not the same connector. I am on the hunt for the solution to this as well. If I try it on my own and I can find your post again, I will come back with the answer!
-Reply from pianojam (6 points);
This PDF shows how to make the T6A into a master trainer, but if you use the 9XR as the master, the T6a shouldn't need any modification. Now to find the cable info....
-Reply from pianojam (6 points);
I couldn't find anything (though I just realized I'd been searching for "OrangeRX T6A" all this time and this is not an Orange brand), so I opened it up and added a 1/8" port myself so I could just use a headphone extension cable between this and my 9xr. I began by trying to splice an S-video but it turns out the two pins this transmitter uses are shorted together inside the cable because when used in video, both those pins are ground and are meant to be shared. I'll be posting a video soon on YouTube and I'll link it here. The short version is that there are open solder points on the jack inside, I just joined the orange wire (PPM out) to the tip of the cable, and ground (black) to the sleeve. I now have to power the T6A from its own batteries but it does communicate just fine with the 9XR when the 9XR is configured to trainer mode correctly.

  can i a simulator with this Tx ?

-Reply from extra300s_us (17 points);
if u have the right trainer plug
-Reply from jidole (106 points);
Yes, I used this as simulator interface via USB cable. I tested it on Win XP and 7.Both works fine with FMS eg. You only need to get the right SW which will emulate the TX as joystick
-Reply from HobbyImperium (62 points);
i think you can use it with a simulator, because you can program it on the pc. but i have not test it with a simulator
-Reply from TopQFS (75 points);
yes you can. buy a symulator cable. Instal a simulation software and connect the cable to your pc. and fly. have fun. (this cable isn't at Hobbyking)

yes FMS sim but i could not get it to work with vista 32bit but some people say you can download update to make it work

  I'm going to make a Frankenstein Traxxas Stampede flipper/tow truck with a front mount spatula attached servo and possibly a trebel hook tow bar in the rear Anyone know the voltage/current capabilities of the receiver? I'm assuming it'll do 6v with a 10a BEC, but am wondering if anyone has tried 7.2 or 2s lipo direct on it? Planning on using the mode 1 right vertical throttle stick for the spatula, the left vertical spring stick (elevator?) for the ESC throttle, and the right horizontal stick (rudder or aileron?) for the steering servo. May do left horizontal for the tow hook and the 5th and 6th channel switches for lights/piezo siren.

-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
The rx voltage is 6v, I do not recommend 2s lipo because at full charge is on 8.4v. The max current is 2A. Use a ubec 5v 2A.
-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
Do NOT, I repeat, NOT plug a 2 cell lipo directly into the receiver. You WILL kill it. Just use the bec from your esc, buy an external bec, or use a standard 6V nimh reciever batteryback.
-Reply from W. (1 points);
Don't do it, don't do it, use the normal 2A, better slow then dead
-Reply from Will (18 points);
Everyone calm down, was just a question I frequently run my $pektrums at 7.2v off of a BEC, so was just wondering if this receiver would support it also. I'll run the receiver off of the 6v ESC BEC and hardwire the servo to an external BEC with only the signal running to the receiver.

  what is the actual range of this tx ?

is good for airplanes?

-Reply from ryan.perera22 (393 points);
people have claimed about 200meters, and yes it is good for planes! Just keep in mind that when the battery goes below 6V the receiver starts to go crazy so make sure you don't overdue your flight times.
-Reply from waldek (134 points);
yes ok
-Reply from jidole (106 points);
I was using it with Easy Star with no problems at all. So my answer is - yes, it is good for planes and range is very good.
-Reply from duniayen (20 points);
Ive three of this Tx and all result in below 400m. My test plane lost signal before that. On ground test is longer than 400m.

  Assume I'm a looney that lets others play with my expensive toys.. I want to allow 6 teams to build RC 'robots' Would the TX6 or the TX4 allow 6 different pairing/configurations to run simultaneously? For example assume I bought 6 of the TX6 and the teams used it for the power/control base and there was a grand melee wherein all 6 teams would be operating at once? Or do I need to get 6 different controller sets?

-Reply from Joe (13 points);
Simplified question: Can I run 6 tx/rx pairs of this at once without them stepping on each other?
-Reply from Peca007 (26 points);
I don't understand You clearly. You can use 6 HKT6A RX-TX pairs at once and they will not interfere. It is nature for all 2,4 GHz RC systems. So if there will be 6 robots and every robot will have 1 Rx paired with 1 Tx, then all 6 robots can operate simultaneously.
-Reply from tatolazo (18 points);
yes you can, that is the main good thing from 2.4ghz.
could you imagine that many Rc people got these radios and go to the same club, they could not fly almost never if the radios can not operate simultaneously.

  Hi, I just received the radio today. I was wondering if the right toggle is supposed to be springless (i.e once you push it up, it stays up till you push it down..) It basically stays wherever you leave it

-Reply from Muppet (54 points);
Yes It is mate "mode 1 " on the right this is for your Throttle channel can be changed but i wouldent advise it
-Reply from Rodney O (10 points);
On the inside, there are two mirror image joystick controls. You can create center-returning joystick control by adding a small spring. Where? Inspect the opposite joystick and identify the location of the missing spring. Add one or relocate one spring to accomplish your objective.
-Reply from Sumeet (161 points);
The mode 1 means Throttle in Right. Suppose If you want to use 75% throttle only, then it's easier to pull the throttle stick till 75% and Leave it. So It doesn't come with Spring in Throttle Stick...
-Reply from Seren (123 points);
You say it stays up and down but dose it flick back when you push one side or the other.As if it dose and the stick on the left springs back from all points. Then it is a mode 1 transmitter throttle on right. To put this right you will need to take back off and put the ratchet on the left stick. Now put back on go in software and click stick then click mode 2

Jatun if you did not bind you receiver, to your transmitter, then that is a good place to start. (I know they come bound, but a rebind never hurts) Also, there has been much talk about voltage protection. Like Turnigy Voltage Protector 783333uf (SKU: VPCAP47). I hope this helps.

Radio interference with cables and metal parts is a common problem. Antenna has to be kept away from metal and it has to be visible, from the point of view of the radio waves. Waves are not affected by plastic or foam, so a receiver inside a foam plane can work well, and the same receiver in a heli inside the metal body can act weird.

  What is "Trainer system option" mentioned in the specs

-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
You can connect 2 units with a cable, and you have the trainer on the other radio. If thing are getting out of control, trainer can flip a switch and has the control of the radio, so it can correct your plane or heli easily.
-Reply from JATun (16 points);
Can you buy the cable from HobbyKing?

No, but it's simple to make it. You also need to add a switch to your Tx. Google for "hk-t6a trainer cable", and you'll see a link to HK of a PFD that explains how to do it. Thanks for the credit!

You need to get the programming cable from HK, then download one of the freeware software programs, this then makes your transmitter much more flexible

  After I have bound the Tx to the Rx and plugged the battery in to the correct spot and plugged the servos in once I turn the power on is the light on the Rx suppose to stay on? After I have done all this my Rx will not receive a signal as my servos will not drive. What can I do to fix this problem?

-Reply from Sumeet (161 points);
May be you missed something when binding. The lightson RX should be solid after Binding Completes. Good Product Indeed... If this was helpful. Give me the bonus point Plz...
-Reply from Sumeet (161 points);
Check If you have Connected the servos in correct manner. The signal wire(White Or Orange) comes towards the Labels(Channel 1, Channel 2, ......Bat)on the Rx.......
-Reply from Seren (123 points);
Yes when you switch TX on light will come on and stay on. If it flashes it's not bound.If no light low voltage or plug upside down if lit and servo not work is the earth wire black or brown on battery and servo plug on same side of pins in receiver.And to the outside of the receiver not to the label side of pins.If this is all OK and still no light dead receiver

any indication on the receiver wich is plus/min
or signal, So how do plug the batterie/servo's
in?

-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
the pin in the middel is always positive. other than that is doesn't matter what way you plug a servo/esc in, if you plug it in the wrong way, it just won't work, it wont damge/destroy it. hope this helps.
-Reply from Allison (1375 points);
Rikie it is not that hard. The center pin is the pos . The one closer to the outside edga is the neg- . Lastly the one near to the main body of the RX is the servo single.

the pin faraway from the labels is negative, is the side for black or brown servo cable.

  hello, what is that shrink tube at the end of
the receiver wire for? May it be cut off?
There seems to be something in it so I suppose
not. I'm using it in a small hk 250GT heli so I would like it to be as short as possible.
If not can I hide it away in the body of the heli somewhere?

-Reply from Allison (1375 points);
Rikie the heat shrink on the end of you wire is covering the bare wires at the end. You may trim a little but do not remove. It would be better to put the aerial into the body. 2.4 gig aerial do not need to be outside.
-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
Is the reciever antena covered. Do not cut or modify because you lose range.
-Reply from chris (33 points);
U can't cut it ull lose lots of range
-Reply from StevenC (809 points);
In fact the shrink tube is covering a cylindrical metal antenna, and in which a second antenna wire passes through. I discovered that when my 450 crashed really bad and the antenna got damaged. I had to replace the whole antenna completely with 2 wires cut from a servo!

On standar configuration 5 and 6 channels are the knobs and the switches are dual rate, but this can configure with usb cable. See the hk files tab for manual.
-Reply from Sally (701 points);
Well what andy65 says is sorta correct. You can mix and program the nobs and switches. I us one switch for a motor total off. So when I am walking with the plane and ***p the throttle I am safe. Also you van set them for duel rate or for landing gear. Also you and just set the nobs to any channel from 1 to 6. So it is very flexible to suit what you need.

does it have chanel mix-ing? for 2 aileron servos?

im a begginer and doubting if i get the 4 ch or the 6 ch one

thanks

-Reply from Wazza_99 (1162 points);
yes it will be ok for 2 ailerons without the Y cable. But you will need the programming cable to reverse and make other adjustments. If you are a complete beginner (and think you will have problems with the pc software, get the 4 channel one, you can reverse servos on the tx) it would be better to get the 4 channel one. Now if you are more adventurous, this one will be fine. Once again, don't forget to buy the programming cable.

-Reply from Rexy03 (1513 points);

-Reply from GASPARINI (6 points);

-Reply from GASPARINI (6 points);
Thanks for the file. Thanks to it and to an oscilloscope, I succeed to connect my Hobbyking transmitter with an esky one and it works great! I just want to add something: I've measured the voltage of the yellow and of the orange wire and they are different: the orange wire's voltage is higher than the yellow's voltage. I think that in order to connect two Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx V2, a resistor of about 10 kilo ohm should be added instead of the new wire #2 in order to protect the transmission module. I didn't have this problem with my esky transmitter because the voltage was roughly the same to the yellow wire's voltage. So I couldn't test the resistor but I just want to warn you, and people who would like to make this DIY trainer, to avoid to burn the transmitter.

MIX- up rate and down rate? And END POINT settings. This manual is not so good, very unhappy.

-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
Check t6config to set TYPE=AERO plane no heli
-Reply from William (1 points);
I got it fixed, was already set to acro. Fix settings: ENDPONTS: 120 & 120% REVERSE: on for ch3 MIX: Up rate & down rate at 100. Sometimes you just need to sleep on it, and pray

  Can i use 2200mah 3s battery with this transmitter?

-Reply from Weslley (8 points);
not unless you use up to 6V UBEC, or ESC with BEC
-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
Yes you can use 3s 2200
-Reply from jpm600 (31 points);
for the transmitter you can, you just have to remove the AA battery holder and solder on a new connector to match the battery to the transmitter. The other answer about UBEC or esc with BEC relates to powering the receiver module.
-Reply from Jake39947 (3 points);
no you cant if you do you will screw up your remote and your battery
-Reply from Moustafa (77 points);
yes you can but modifiy the terminal for the TX by welding male terminal as the female terminal of the battery

Is your bind plug connected to the correct channel on your receiver, also make sure the power is connected to the correct channel

make sure your servo leads and esc lead has its negative wires towards the outside of the rx if you have them in the right polarity the led in the rx will be bright red, the wrong way round the led will be dull and flashing fast

  Hi guyz,is it normal that everytime I swicth on my throttle cut which is in swicth A its automaticaly spin my main blade even my throttle stick is in downward position?pls help

-Reply from Toffe (8 points);
You might have to use T9Config (app for windows) and a cable (FTDI). It can look like the switch has been assigned as a MIX switch too. MIX switch can be used to make the trottle inverse e.t.c. If not that i would check the connector on the RX to be sure that every cable is in. Does it behave like that when you just take the throttle down? or is it when you flip the switch it starts spinning?
-Reply from vikas (7 points);
just check the trim beside the throttle control.
-Reply from francis (1 points);
maybe you have a bad wiring...or the throttle stick is backwards you gotta program your transmitter with the programming cable and software its on the product page and you have to buy the cable seprate

When you connect the ESC in your RC model, makes sure that the Tx is already switched on and the Throttle cut switch is off. Some ESC would start spinning the motor if you do otherwise.

  Hi guyz,I have here hk trex 450 and firefox200 can I use this tx of my both helis w/ 2 rx?thanks

-Reply from Simon Beeching (37 points);
Yes, you can. If the models have different settings for the mixes (most likely they would) you will need to connect to a pc/laptop to load appropriate settings before using each model. (Transmitter has no model memory) The Turnigy 9x avoids this need by having memory for ~8 models different settings.
-Reply from StevenC (809 points);
It's possible but very improbable as both helis would have different sub trims, servo travel and possibly servo direction.

  What is the bind plug for.

-Reply from Laurent (13 points);
The bind plug is used to bind (associate) the transmitter TX and the reciever RX. If you want to use the RX with another TX (a friend's TX for instance), you will have to bind with it. To do so read the manual. The TX and RX you bought are already binded together.
-Reply from Sally (701 points);
Well yes but mine came pre bond. So I just put my bind plug in the draw. Many say you should carry out a bind any way. There are many videos around the place on how to bind. You will find one in the videos tab above.

  Hey guys......I am new here ..... I need to know if I need a "module" for this tx/rx and why? Can I use the tx/rx without pc? Do I get the cable with the tx/rx? Thanks :)

-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
You do not need a "module", I must recommend the usb cable to set up with pc.
-Reply from Bayan (5 points);
Cant I just start using it out of the box?? Without pc?
-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
you can, but you won't have any servo reverse or anything.
-Reply from andy65 (112 points);
You can use it out of the box, but if the heli default seting is your goal, if not you will need to modify the seting and the only way to do, is with pc and usb cable.
-Reply from yuriy (1 points);
It works out of the box. But you need to buy the usb cable separtly.

Its a cheap radio made by hk that's all
-Reply from aquaveg (17 points);
It's made by hobby king and is a great radio for the price 2.4ghz with receiver has built in trainer port all programming is done on a pc ,Fantastic at this price.
-Reply from Peter (9 points);
The maine thing is at the price and if it works well, what more do you need, some of the more price radios you need to be skilled in computer operations to figure them out, simpler the better i say.

It's a cheap radio, made by hobbyking, but quality is very good, and nearly equivalent to more expensive transmitters.

  Ok, so I'm a bit new at this, just got a J3 cub and assembled it, went pretty well, then to installing the receiver. I think I got it right, but have a couple of questions. 1. what is the bind plug for? 2. currently the left hand stick runs the rudder and elevator. the right hand stick runs the throttle and ailerons. Is it a simple job to swap the rudder and ailerons i.e. can I just change the plugs over or is it more complicated than that? cheers

-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
I'll try to explain it with some easy words: the bind plug is to bind the receiver with the transmitter. unlike for example 35 or 72 mHz radios, 2.4 gHz does not work with cristals. It works with some advanced algorithems and such. basically you could say that the receiver recognises the radio because they communicate with eachother. the receiver only 'listens' to one transmitter, the one it is bound to. that way you don't get any interference. the bind plug is to get the receiver in the bind-
-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
not my entire reply was posted, weird. continue: the receiver in the bind-mode. it the searches for a transmitter that is also in the bindmode. then the rx can connect to the tx. it then 'remembers' the 'language' of the transmitter. you probably don't have to use it, since HK receivers are usually already bound to the transmitter the come with.
-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
again! continue 2: as for question 2, do you want to have the aileron stick on the left? if that is the case. you could open the tx and switch the plugs of the aileron and rudder stick. an easyer way however, is to simply switch the servo plugs on the receiver. just test it and see if it work right. hope this helps you.

  Hi. I am using this TX on a Ventus Glider. Everything works fine except I cannot seem to find a way to program the Landing Gear servo to work. I have the usb cable and T6Config. CH5 and 6 are available. How to do it ???

-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
You have to config a mix. Use for instance mix1. Source is SW A or B as you like (or you may use one of the knobs, VR A or B). Destination is ch5 or 6 as you like. Down rate and up rate have to be set up so you can get the desired endpoint of servo (start with 0 and 100 and change them to test). Finally, set Switch to ON. That's all. Good luck!

How are you measuring voltage? Osciloscope or multimeter? if you measure whit multimeter it will show just an average. I'm assuming you're talking about voltage measured at Rx control pin output.

  what the best version out of mode one and mode two i have never fly a mode one version.

-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
That completely depends on what you're used to. Mode 1 or 2 simply means that the throttle stick is on the left or right side on the tx. The transmitter won't get any better when you switch it, it's all about what you like best. If you're used to flying with mode 2, then I wouldn't change to mode 1, since the controls are on the other side.

  has anyone set one of these up to work with a hk450 heli? i needed to mix several servos onto one stick, but when i programmed it through the pc program, the tx never actually had anything i set, saved to it.. it was completely useless for me.. and because you cant adjust gyro gain through it, or on the hk401b gyro.. i could never get it to work...

-Reply from StevenC (809 points);
When you load T6Config, you need to click GetUser. This will load the configuration from the TX. When you change any values or vurves, the changes are automatically saved into the TX.
-Reply from StevenC (809 points);
To make it work with a 450, you need to set the Type to 'Heli-120'. Change the Stick to 'Mode 1'. Switch A is 'Throttle Cut'. Switch B is 'NOR/ID'. VarA is 'Pitch'. The only mix you need is VarA > CH5 at 100%. Turn all other mixes off.

-Reply from StevenC (809 points);
Set your mixes as follows. MIX1 - Source VRB, Des CH5, Up rate 100, Down rate 100, Switch ON. For MIX2 and MIX3 just set the Switch to OFF.

-Reply from genesis (2 points);
hello friend am a customer hobby king! I bought this radio because here in Brazil is highly recommended, since fizamos tests with it on the ground and he had a range of 1200m, with not an interference, do not try a greater distance because the track was 1200m, there are reports that his range reaches 1,800 m without problems, hand operated on my radio yet, but my friends in Brazil recommend this radio much, great to cost and benefit, if you are a beginner is a good choice to buy it. (if your car
-Reply from peter2 (137 points);
You can use it, but I'd go for one that is actually meant as a ground transmitter, like this one:'HK-300 3 Channel 2.4ghz FHSS Ground Radio'. Hope this helps you.
-Reply from Carlo_Magno (27 points);
Yes, but is not design to control a car.

You could use it for cars, however, this is a full range transmitter. That means it is meant for aircraft and might not do so well on the ground. You will still get a very good range with it, but I'd go for a more specific car radio, like this one: 'HK-300 3 Channel 2.4ghz FHSS Ground Radio'. Hope this helps you.

  This can be switched to mode 2, correct?

-Reply from Rexy03 (1513 points);
I believe it can but you would need to swap over the ratchet and the spring return on the joy sticks from inside Google for a video its not hard to do
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
Yes, you can, you select mode from software, but as rexy03 said, you will have to open it up to change the spring from the left to the right stick.

Thanks Rexy and Gerry. I'm going to Award credit to Rexy because he needs it more.

acetech09 no sorry. But the range is almost 800m how much further do you need. If you need only a bit more get a Turnigy 9X-V2 for $53. They have a range of over 1000m. I hope this helps

  My transmitter is not detected in t6config..but the computer detects it. i went through the devices and printer in the control panel and when i move the sticks the computer responds. i've tried changing usb port to 6 different places..pls help

-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Syamil17 "6 different places". Ok do not plug you Hk cable in (you are using Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx USB Cable SKU: FS-L001). Run your T6A config. When it loads see what coms ports are available. Now exit, install your cable and Tx, run T6A Config. Is the a different coms port available. Pick that one.
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
So if there is no extra coms ports what do you do. Firstly I would go to you cmos (Computer Setup) and turn off all you coms port (You do not use them anyway). So you are looking for com1: and com2: NOT USB1 to 6. If that does not help then have you installed the drives for you USB cable? It is a separate file called: USB Cable Driver Win ALL (v6.6.1) or LIKE.

-Reply from genesis (2 points);
hello, the 2.4 ghz is a technology used in wifi, very common, it makes a connection and radio receiver much safer than the FM. in short the 2.4 ghz is the best you have, and its range can reach 1800M, is excellent.

  Binded with hobbyking SPAD XIII. The throttle works but no response at all from any servos. They are connected up to the correct channels. Should there be some response straight out of the box? or do I need the USB cable to program accordingly?

  any suggestions on how to make it work on a simulator?

-Reply from alex2601 (35 points);
if you have an usb cable try with a program like ppjoy and configure your transmitter with this program: 1) Install ppjiy 2) Go to controll panel and next parallel port joysticks 3) Click on add button and chose virtual joysticks mode 4) Run ppjoy and check that the serial protocol is ''Zhen Hua 5 bytes'' 5) Run your simulator (it works fine on fms, on the other simulator I don't know) 6) Go to controls -> analog controller 7) Chose joystick interface and next mapping/calibration 8) You now jus
-Reply from Julien (6 points);
is there any program other than ppjoy cause its not working
-Reply from alex2601 (35 points);
Is your transmitter recognized by your pc? if yes, in t6config, when you move your sticks, do the green bar moves? If yes, ppjoy should work, you can look for tutorial about ppjoy on google Here is a tutorial in sapnish
-Reply from alex2601 (35 points);
there is also ntpad or psxpad but I d'on't know if they work with your tx, I have never tested good luck
-Reply from Julien (6 points);
im a installing ppjoy but the thing is its telling me error cant install driver automatically you have have to install the drivers manually and i made sure that the transmitter is pluged and the green bars are moving on t6 so any help?

Sort but i dont know you can maybe try to open ppjoy as an administrator

  HELLO ALL, i am strugling to configure the radio for my tricopter. I do not know what parameters to give for the different channels in the configurations software. I tried some but each motor starts to spin at different trottle level. I think this is because of wrong channels set up or maybe not calibrated ESCs.. Can someone help me with info how to configure the radio with the T6 software. My radio is acctually flysky ctb6 but i do not see any difference between em . MANY many THANKS

-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Nukii what Flight Controller Board (FCB) are you using? The work is done by your FCB. So please come over to the Members Forum Blue tab at top of Page). In there you can open a topic or join one and get help! You need to setup you ese's. You do have a FCB?
-Reply from nukii (67 points);
i am using kk2 board and i have conntected evrything as shown in some nice youtube videos for buiding tricopter. my ESCs are of cource connected to the KK2 board and not directly into the receiver.. i tested yesterday with the aero setup on the radio but again when i give little throttle motor 1 starts after increasing throttle with 15 percent Motor 2 starts and again throtle increase Motor 3 springs. Maybe my ESC are not calibrated?? I am using Turnigy Plush 30A ESCs.. I do not know what to do...
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Nukii do you have some servo. I like my test. You remove motors and Escs and replace them with servo. This will tell you if the problem is the ESCs or else where! It does sound like an ESC problem.
-Reply from nukii (67 points);
thanks NewToHobbyking, this is a good idea, yes i have servos and will try this.
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Nukii let me know how you go. The best part is you do not have all that power that can short and burn. If you like the idea we could write it up in the Tip and Ideas area HobbyKing has. It would be nice to do with someone else. I sometime have trouble explaining my ideas! (If we come up with a new and good idea HK does pay for it)
-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
nukii I started a Topic in the members forum (Blue tab at top of page) in Tips and Tricks. It talks about the servo test. If you add you though and help I am happy to share credit!

  COME ON PEOPLE, give me the sooo desired answer....how to set up the channels parameters with the T6 Software so that i can use this radio with tricopter having KK2 Board. IT should be possible i know...but sofar nobody wants to tell me.....

-Reply from Rexy03 (1513 points);
if you get no answer here maybe try on the hobbyking forum
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
I don't have a multicopter, but from what I've seen, you need to program it as a plane. ch1 aileron, ch2 elevator, ch3 thrust, ch4 rudder. You can map ch5 and 6 to the knobs or switches if your board supports extra channels for other functions like gyro gain. The rest of the programming has to be done on the board.
-Reply from nukii (67 points);
thank you Gerry, yes i already knew this, but in the T6 Software i have to programm some parameters like throttle curve, pitch, mix channels etc... here come my problems-.
-Reply from Gerry01 (4398 points);
Throttle curve and pith are for helis, are you sure you've selected plane mode? remember that the translation between elev-aileron to the 3, or 4, or 6 ESC is done by the board.

  Will this work with a blade cx2?

If you say the coax heli, no. It has a 4 in 1 controller, this Tx comes with an standard Rx, you would need a lot of electronics.
Tyrone (5 points)
6/12/2013
  The software Blue screened my poor computer numerous times and now the Tx doesn't work, the receiver gets ch4 but all other values are stuck and don't change when the sticks are moved. I'm going to have to buy a better TxRx now.

-Reply from NewToHobbyKing (14205 points);
Tyrone can you find a older computer or another computer. The software likes XP but will run on newer OPs. Come to members forum and maybe you can find someone close, who can set it up for you!

  Hi all, I notice this unit has a 'Trainer System Option'. I assume this means a Buddy Box link. Does anybody know how to set this up? I downloaded the Manual, but it has nothing at all in it on this particular function. I want to link two of these transmitters together. I know the cable goes in the back but there surely must be more to it than that. I won't buy a second one if I can't link them. Thanks in advance - Andrew
