  I have this plane but with 2s lipo it have no power alt all. It can not fly or take off with 2s lipo. If i try 3s it runs very fast. But i don't know if the motor and esc can handle it. Do i something wrong or do i have to use 3s lipo?

-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Hey erikjan, if you keep using 3s lipo you will burn the esc. I would first check if your 2s lipo is still giving enough power, have you tried diffent 2s lipo's or just the one? if it is just one, check it! Is your prop on in the correct sence, this could influence the power grately. Normaly this litlle plane flys just fine on 2s. Succes ermee!

  Do somebody know if the engine and the ESC can handle 3S ? I have 3S1P Zippy 800 mAh 20C. Thanks.

-Reply from Khans (28 points);
3S1P...... nonono....

2S1P........okokok
-Reply from Jurgenvonden (190 points);
Thanks
-Reply from 1111mavrick (176 points);
Yes they can handle 3s....but for how long? i don't know...
I use a 1300 3s and she really wakes up. With the stock 6.3 prop it pulls 14.9amps and 156watts. I wouldn't recommend holding full throttle for more than a second or two,but full is not needed cuz she goes vertical at half.
-Reply from uakko (35 points);
the esc is for 2s
-Reply from polo849 (2 points);
Hi the 3s1p lipo will damage the engine and esc because the voltage is higher than recomended! 3s1p is 11.1 volts and the 2s1p is 7.4 volts that is a 3.7 volt difference.in my opinion it will blow the esc but the engin will still work
-Reply from thesasharc (6 points);
I don't know I'll try and if it works I'll tell right away.

  will stock esc and motor work on a 800mah 3s battery?

-Reply from macwarrior (44 points);
800mAh is just how much "capacity" the battery has (how long it can run for), so that won't be a problem. The ESC in this should in theory *run* on a 3S battery, but you'll have to worry about it overheating or burning out. If you put a good heat sink on the ESC and stuck it in the airstream you should probably be okay, but I don't know that I'd do it myself ** the Turnigy 2S/1000s are like 5 dollars :P. Also consider that a 3S 800mAh battery will be around 50% heavier than a 2S 800mAh though!
-Reply from cachai (290 points);
Thanks, I already have 2S 1000, and flies great on those bats, my question is because I have a 3S 800mah and wonder if can be used safely in this plane with stock config w/o the risk of burn electronics out
-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
3S will result in to many amps for the motor with the standard 6x3 prop. ESC might handle it ok. If you go for a 3S, you will probably need to go to a 5x3 or 4x3 prop to keep the current draw within range of the motor and ESC.
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
3S with 5x3 should work, but I think a 4 inch prop will be too short to clear the fuselage.
-Reply from cachai (290 points);
so it may suffer damage if flown stock on 3S right?
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
alejandro, right. But if you can manage to keep the throttle low, to the point where you use no more power than you would with the 2S, then you could probably get away with it. Otherwise you will burn up either the motor or the ESC.
-Reply from 1111mavrick (176 points);
Yes just don't use full throttle for too long
-Reply from polo849 (2 points);
no the higer voltage will damage the esc use a 2s1p.
-Reply from thesasharc (6 points);
I have done that and nothing happened with a good heat sink and a good throttle management i.e. .Not full throttle at all time , max 20 seconds.

  Finally, got this plane back in stock after almost a year wait! It now has a brushless upgrade, yeah! But it appears that they still got the weight wrong in the specs. The old brushed one people were saying was under 300g. I hope this is true of this one too. Will leave comments when I receive mine.

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Weight confirmation - without battery or Rx - 250 grams. Looks really nice. Review coming when winds permit.
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
More info - Prop is not 4x2. It's 6.3x3.15. New nano-tech 850 2S lipo fits in perfectly.
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Wow!! That worked well. Tried using the "?ISSUE" button to inform them of the errors in the specs. They changed them in one day. Thanks HK.
-Reply from TEE PG (5 points);
i crash mine ,canopy break,motor shaft bent,where can i get these part?
-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
Mine is 345grams all up with a 1300 2SP! Goes well and will fly happily at half throttle with plenty power on stock setup. (Not shock flier 3D power but good for most people at full throttle)

  Are the wings detachable ? It seems like they are attached using that two round magnets. needs confirmation.

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
The wing is designed to pop off in the event of a crash hitting the wing, preventing serious damage to the wing. In the front it is held on with pins and under the plastic canopy, in back with magnets. You can literally pull off the wing in 2 seconds by grasping the back of the wing, pulling up and then pulling back. Don't forget the ailerons' servo is attached to the Rx.
-Reply from Runny (189 points);
Thanks. Helpful info.
-Reply from liggo 76 (110 points);
this is has two magnets to hold the wing in place very strong works better than i thought and great if you have a bit of a wooppsy like my sone did and hit the ground wing just pops off instead of broken wing parts
-Reply from Bryce (5 points);
Yes, they are attached with magnets and very easily detachable.
-Reply from Starry (142 points);
There are four sharp plastic "needles" (male) which you should insert into the four plastic holes (females) followed by the two magnets installed. The EPO keeps the plane bouncing and in all probability the wings are hit on a rough landing - so I suggest you fibre-tape and strengthen the wings, especially the areas near the fuselage.
-Reply from DukeOfDream (110 points);
yes they are detachable and are attached using magnets :)very stong ones actually!
-Reply from sergiofromitaly (116 points);
yes they are detachable by two magnets, very easy and fast!

  Does this have flaps? I'm new, worried about crashing a plane so anything which slows the landings would be nice!

-Reply from hamityanik (17 points);
Yes, it has the flaps.
-Reply from dave the geek (34 points);
Actually mine arrived the other day and there are what look looke flaps molded into the wing. They are not movable and do not have any hinge or control system for them. Im sure an experienced pilot/builder could install a control system but out of the box, no.
-Reply from JIMMY-FLY (23 points);
you have the flaps I have one better, I will fly Faile fun to drive I suggest you buy it
-Reply from JULIANO HENRIQUE (3 points);
Yes, but does not come with the servos.
-Reply from Reinhardt (3 points);
It has flaps but I have an Idea that if you just dont conect the servo i the wing you can fly 3ch and add the elerons later when you feel cumfortable.
-Reply from 1111mavrick (176 points);
No it does NOT have flaps.... I have the plane,and feel it would not benefit from flaps because its just too small and the wing load is pretty high.This one likes to land at a pretty good pace so i would not really recommend it for a beginner. I modified mine with two servos in the wing to control each aileron so i could mix in some flaperons but feel it just made it way too unstable at slow flight causing the wing to stall all the time.
-Reply from thesasharc (6 points);
ther is no flaps but ther is aillerons
-Reply from *addi (3 points);
you can upgrade it to 2 servo and then install flaps like me!

  Hi!Please,where is located the correct CoG for this plane? The manual says 162.9mm from the tip of the spinner, as 22 mm from edge wings?!?! I believe that is too far forward, isn't it? almost 35 mm from edge, I have put esc, battery under wings and receiver in battery tray, but CoG don't move at 22mm! Thanks!!

-Reply from Napstr (1130 points);
I would start at around 1/3 of the wing chord from the front of the wing measured around half way out - this is generally the stable area for balance (well 1/4 to 1/3 really) and this should relate to the thickest part of the wing section - for a more aerobatic aircraft move it back towards the half chord point but this will make it alot less stable!
-Reply from pippo65 (233 points);
thanks,I'm really beginner with airplane... I try to measure it according to your answer.. someone have this model, where is for him CoG?

-Reply from wifly (51 points);
its way too far forward. if in doubt go 1/3 behind the leading edge of the wing, usually on the main spar
-Reply from dwvabeach (67 points);
I had the larger Durafly Cessna and my COG was about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way back from the Leading Edge of the wing. On that plane it happened to be right about where the main wing tube entered the wing. Not sure of that as reference for this model, but the 14 to 1/3 distance is probably close.

  can i use a 11.1v 3s battery on this???

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
If you change to a 5 inch prop then maybe, but you do it at your own risk.
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
OK, ebifrya0015 (review here) on youtube has a video, cessna182-2010-08-04, in which he has used a 3S 850 lipo. He is not using the stock ESC, however, since his didn't work initially. (Mine works fine, btw)
-Reply from uakko (35 points);
is preferable to use only 7.4v lipo, I'm not sure that the ESC is compatible to 3s battery
-Reply from thesasharc (6 points);
it can work on yours but it worked very well on mine but if you want to try it is at your own risk

  is trainer (beginners)?

-Reply from hanafi (114 points);
no it's not trainer, you should buy bixler or axn floater for trainer.
-Reply from ratonxi (18 points);
It's more for beginners rather than a trainer. It's a very very easy to fly plane, even on steady winds of 10mph. For me it's not a trainer because it's very easy to damage the prop and motor mountin a baf crash. For trainers I would preffer bixler, it's a better option.
-Reply from rokhaul (25 points);
Im training on it just fine, this is my first plane and flown it 3 times with no damage on imperfect landings. Very easy to fly!

-Reply from christian (14 points);
Was meinste mit "NAsenleiste am Rumpf" Gre
-Reply from LaserBeam (760 points);
Auf Wiedersehen und viel Glck:) 'Leading Edge' means 'the front edge of the wing'.
-Reply from christian (14 points);
Hi nochmal, 33mm hinter Flgelvorderkante ist zu weit hinten! Musste stark nach trimmen. Ich versuchs nun mit den 22mm, nutze eben Blei dafr
-Reply from LaserBeam (760 points);

  Mine flies well at speed but once you back off it tends to go into a tail spin. Please help?

-Reply from chfet (92 points);
My friend this is called STALL.
One think to do is decrease wheight of the plane.
Increase the minimal speed of the plane to a stabilized flyght.
If your plane have flap, this could help on landing at low speeds.
I hope this is enhought. Good bye.
-Reply from Kellyann (16702 points);
chfet have you ever seen a tail spin??? Stall is much different. I is more like a wing tip stall more than a general stall. But the tail stall is the strange thing???

See at youtube tailspin at NACA.

  The ESC is 15A, however does this ESC have a BEC as it had a voltage drop on the 2cell 7.4 which caused the received to reset, nearly crashed.

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Of course it has a BEC. That's what gives the receiver its power from the main battery. You would need a separate battery if it didn't. There could be several reasons for your problem, including a bad lipo or a faulty receiver.
-Reply from DukeOfDream (110 points);
just add a Capacitor to a free channel(like the battery channel) and the problem is solved...it happens on most electric models...

-Reply from Zohar (5 points);
This model is very good looking and has a great feel in hands and air but its shaft is defiantly its weakest spot! Everybody bends the shaft on this model and I mean EVERYBODY. The best replacement should be the http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5358 it should fit in there and has similar power requirements to original
-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);
You can just replace the shaft it worked just fin on mine. You just need a standard 3mm shaft. I know it looks thin on the prop end but inside the motor the shaft is 3mm so just get a 3mm shaft of the right length and 3mm prop adapter and you should be sweet.

  When I start giving throttle thé* motor starts running but when increasing throttle IT stops. Think I have an ESC pblm...Does anyone has the ESC manuel or can anyone give me the meaning of the ESC beeps and their normal sé*quence ?

-Reply from normal_nick (25 points);
If the motor stops AND your receiver is turning off (if you use internal BEC of ESC) then it means that the source of energy haven't got enough amps to power the engine... Also check your battery because ESC may cut off the engine if voltage is too low (3V or 3,2V per cell). If you use NiMh batteries and haven't reprogrammed your ESC it treats NiMh as Li-po and it cut off the engine because of lower voltage and voltage sag during heavy discharge
-Reply from rbinon (5 points);
Tanks for your answer that make sense ...But the ESC was HS... I've replaced IT with a Turnigy Plus 30A and everything is OK noAnyhow tanks again Robert
-Reply from Matt (17 points);
make shure you turn your model on first and then the transmitter that may be the problem

  Can't get it to fly. Tried 2 and 3s batteries, played around with the motor mount (put washers in to adjust right and down thrust), moved the battery to the front cavity behind the motor - nothing worked. It just doesn't stay in the air. Sometimes banks to the side (right or left) and crashes. What am I doing wrong? I have a 6x4 prop, stock motor and ESC and an 800 mAh LiPo (have a 3S 1000 mAh available as well) CG is about 1/3 of the wing (162 mm from the tip of the motor shaft). ??????????

-Reply from Wazza_99 (1160 points);
Are you velcroing your batteries or are they loose? Esc? Try doing that, seems wight is shifting your plane around.
-Reply from Kellyann (16702 points);
d_r_dan_c mine does the same thing so when you get it let me know. I have shelved her for new before I wreck her.
-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
Guys your not alone I've been having the same problem, the plane just twist and turn and crashed can not get it to fly no mater what I did. Been shelving it for the last 3 months. Too scared I make more damaged to the nice litlle cutie.
-Reply from d_r_dan_c (16 points);
Finally got it to fly. First, I smashed the nose and had to reinforce it with epoxy and wall patching mesh (after I took off the cowling). That added a bit of weight to the front. Then I wedged the 800 mAh 2S Sky Lipo into the front cavity all the way to the motor (under the wing, the top part where the ESC and the receiver go). That shifted the CG right about where it should be. The way to check is: turn the nback wheels facing forward (shorter wheel base), it shoud stand on its own. The CG should be just forward of the battery compartment latch. Velcro the ESC and and receiver* the battery will hold on friction if you wedge it in diagonally. Pull the battery wires through the whole of the battery compartment so you won't have to take the wing off every time you charge it (you can charge it in place - at your own risk!). Now it flies reasonably well. My son (the pilot* I'm just a mechanic) is happy.

Your throttle controls both the pitch of the plane and its speed. The faster you go, the more if gains height. Take of at full, gain altitude, then throttle down to about 1/2 to 3/4. At this speed the plane should fly straight and not gain or lose height. Either that or your CG is off.

  can you get any spare parts for this? I broke the main wing and the plastic cover

-Reply from dayweed (16 points);
the cowling can't be replaced sadly... i crushed mine too. but the wing can be repaired pretty darn well! just epoxy the two parts together. after that slather more epoxy on the break area and paste a piece of glassfibre/rip-stop nylon/tape(!). it works great. i've broke the wing twice and she still flys fine (never the same place though). and i'm talking about complete breakage (2 separate parts). you should also tape up the bottom and top parts of the wing cos then its lots harder to break

  Can someone tell me some stuff about batteries for this plane? I'm looking at a few different ones ** the turnigy nano-tech 850, the turnigy 1000, and the turnigy 1300. Here are their specs:

nano-tech 850 ** 49g 60x31x16mm
1000 30C ** 64g 79x34x13mm
1300 20C ** 82g 70x32x16mm

So the recommended one is the 850, which I assume fits inside just fine. If I wanted longer flying time, would either of the larger batteries fit inside? What would the extra 15/30 grams respectively for the larger batteries mean to the performance of a plane this size?

Also, what sort of run times would I be looking at for the standard 850 battery? And how long could I fly (with any cell) before the motor/ESC got too hot?

Thanks

-Reply from macwarrior (44 points);
haha, I just noticed further down that this question was already answered partly! Still, I'm wondering what kind of flight times people are getting with their batteries?
-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
I can get anything up to 20 minutes flying a 1300 2sp on slow flying with maybe half or less throttle. That is just really coasting along level with gentle turns and leaving the throttle alone while flying with no climbing. On a 500mah it can get you 10 minutes by doing the same, less weight than the 1300 pack so can fly slower and less throttle.
-Reply from thesasharc (6 points);
I got a 12min once with a 1000mah 3sp but with having real fun I.E. loops , rolls , etc

  does this plane come with everything included ( ailerons, ruddder, servos, etc) ?

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Everything/etc?? As the description states, all you need is a transmitter and receiver, and a battery. This cessna is a true 4 channel plane, with one servo for elevator, one for rudder and one for ailerons.
-Reply from Brainboy (7 points);
is also a good first plane?
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Yes, this would be a pretty good first plane. The Cessna or J3 Cub designs are very stable and easy to fly. But if you really mean absolute FIRST plane, I would recommend the "Micro Cessna 2.4Ghz Airplane w/ 2.4Ghz Ready-2-Fly". Log in and put it in your cart and it's only $50, and that's all you need. Nothing more to buy except maybe some more batteries. Click on the videos tab there to see my video of it.
-Reply from liggo 76 (110 points);
yes this plane comes as it does say just add rx tx and batt
-Reply from Bryce (5 points);
Yes, you only need a transmitter, a 4ch receiver and a lipo.
-Reply from Starry (142 points);
I would not say this is a good first-time beginner plane due to: a) charateristics of this plane and that not all high-wings are good trainer planes* and b) the size of this HK Cessna is small to counter the environmental forces. A plane size that is a notch or two bigger would be recommended instead.
-Reply from uakko (35 points);

  Where is the correct CoG for this plane? The manual says 162.9mm from the tip of the spinner?!?! That surely is too far forward, isn't it? Thanks!!

-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
Mine balances out around 2cm back from leading edge on wing tips. Keep it slightly nose heavy for a better flying plane. I have the battery under the wing next to the esc behind the motor area. It will go in there at a 45' angle and results in a forward CG and a nice flying plane. I am using a turnigy 1300 2SP though.
-Reply from Stiaan (6 points);
Thanks Dieterza, will do that. The CoG as per the manual results in a plane that is very nose heavy. Really didn't want to try it like that. Now I can use my 2s batteries that would otherwise not fit in the battery bay too! Thanks again, from Gauteng - ZA.
-Reply from macwarrior (44 points);
I also put the battery (Turnigy 1000 2s) under the wing behind the ESC, and the receiver in the battery box down below. I just stuck a little piece of velcro in the top to make sure that the battery doesn't shift around and either mess up the weight balance or interfere with the tail servos. Works great for me and it's nicely balanced :)

i think 2s battery is the best for this plane.with 800-1000 mah 2s can make aerobatic maneuvers, such as rolls, loops, inverted flight and slow flying. 3s battery and larger motor will increase the weight.

-Reply from dayweed (16 points);
my guess is you fried the ESC. The ESC also has a BEC ( Battery Eliminating Circuit) which powers your servos and receiver. From this i'm quite sure only the ESC is damaged and that the servos are fine. As for the motor i can't be sure but my guess is that the ESC fried before any voltage reached the motor so it should be fine.

  I have a parkzone dsm2 transmitter that i got when i purchased a rtf ultra micro t-28 trojan and was wondering if it would bind correctly to this plane.

-Reply from macwarrior (44 points);
The plane doesn't come with a receiver. You need to supply a 4-or-more-channel receiver that is compatible with your transmitter. If you have that, then the servos and ESC in this plane are standard and should hook up to it just fine.

  Do you think a 800mAh would be fine with this plane? Because I have two of those and a 1000mAh and if they wont work ill get more batteries.

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
Both the 800 and 1000 should work fine as long as they fit, which could be tricky. The battery compartment is plastic on 5 sides 47 x 39 x 29mm with an indentation deeper in the back 10 x 31 x 19mm. It looks like the plastic and foam will be easy to cut in the front to fit bigger batteries if you're willing to do that (I always do). If not, as I said earlier, the new nano-tech 850mah 2S fits perfectly. BTW, the battery compartment is almost right on the CG, so heavier batteries should work fine without affecting performance much.
-Reply from liggo 76 (110 points);
i use 800mah it flys just fine with that size batt
-Reply from Starry (142 points);
Flew the plane a few times today. A 2-cell 850mah battery will last you 6 mins and a little more with throttle management. I even use a 2-cell 1,300 battery which balance the plane nicely. What I do is to stuff the battery into the fuselage "hole" just behind the firewall mount.
-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
I fly the 1300 2sp in top bay where servos are and receiver sits in the bottom bay with the door. Get really long flight times by using full throttle from time to time. Not bad on half throttle for just cruising around! 15 - 20 minutes!

  Just bought this plane! Can't wait for it to come! Question do you guys know where I could find a Spare prop for this?

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
The stock prop is quite strong, but if I do break it, I will try my favorite, TGS Sport 6x4E Precision propeller, or maybe the Master Airscrew Electric Only 6x3, both available here at HK. Those should be a pretty good substitute for the strange size 6.3x3.15 included with this plane.
-Reply from E.M.P RC (45 points);
OK thanks so how does this fly?
-Reply from Bryce (5 points);
Graupner makes 6,3-3" props that fit well on this plane, and are more solid than the original (reinforced with fibers). You probably can find them at your local shop or on the net.
-Reply from dieterza (50 points);
I crashed mine due to flying to low and to far out in wind and broke the wing and prop and bent motor shaft. Motor shaft is sorted, clamped in vice and all straight now. Had a wood prop from HK of 6x4 type and epoxied wing and it flies great. No difference noticed on performance. Go look for the 6x4 wood prop under the props section.

Read down, and you'll see this already discussed. I recommend a TGS Sport 6x4E Precision propeller, or maybe the Master Airscrew Electric Only 6x3.   I've just received my plane, I wonder though, do I need a extra battery for my receiver(HK 6ch)? Or where is the cable that I attach to my reciver? Thanks!

-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
The speed control (ESC) includes a BEC (battery elimination circuit), so when you attach it to the receiver and then attach a battery to the ESC, it provides power to the receiver and the servos. BTW, I recommend putting the battery in the nose of the plane rather than in the battery compartment, in order to get proper center of gravity. Make sure you keep it held in place somehow.
-Reply from MichaelN (17 points);
Hi, Thanks for the answer, I already figured it out that I just need to connect the cable to the receiver - Nonetheless, thanks for the answer. For me the plane is pretty okay with th ebattery in the compartment, atleast it doesn't fall over.
-Reply from Robachan (1122 points);
I have to retract my recommendation about the battery location. CG was not my problem. The aileron setup was causing them to stick in the last direction input and not center properly. Very annoying and not fun to fly. Will change to more powerful servo or dual servos and report back.
-Reply from MichaelN (17 points);
I have the problem with the servos too by the way. I might try to use one of those Hitec(?) 9gr servos. Do you know how I can get the screw the servo cable is mounted in off and how I can get it onto the new servo? Regards!
-Reply from DukeOfDream (110 points);
there is no need to power the receiver...just hook the battery to the esc and the esc to the throttle channel and that's all...the esc powers the receiver :)

-Reply from handyjap (490 points);
This is a nice durable plane. For a steerable nose wheel you can use the Du bro 1/2A nose wheel. I even added flaps to my plane and what a excellent example of how flaps should work and that on such a small plane. I prefer to run my plane on 3S but it even fly fine with 2S and with a PRODUCT ID: MA0635 Master Airscrew 6x3.5 "Glow" prop.

this was my first plane after some basic flights with helis and i can assure you that i had no problem taking it off a runway as well as landings...of course it would be better with a steerable wheel but the plane is so light that you can steer it at ground with rudder even in very low speeds...

  Yes you can check this it is not difficult. First remove prop, then carefully remove the tape that is fixing the plastic cowel (nose) to the fuselage. Then remove the cowel and folow the wires to the esc. I think and hope one of the wires is loose, if so just reconect. If the motor then spins the wrong way, just change any 2 wires of place until it runs correct.

-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
And leave the prop off the motor when you do testing: safety!

Yes i recommend buy a replacement motor cause you never know what can still be wrong with the motor. i hope i helped

Thanks but I was after a motor recommendation as there are so many to choose from and I don't understand the ratings.

you can buy 3 mm motor shaft (i use tower pro 2409- 12D motor shaft) and use 3 mm propeler saver. it can save your propeler and motor shaft.
-Reply from jeonsi1 (15 points);
You can just unbend the shaft with a plier. It's easy if you try.

  Hi all - I've a quick question: When I mount the main landing gear as shown on the google-translated manual, the tail becomes extremely tail heavy and falls back (CG when checked at 30-33% of wing is perfectly fine though). If I put it 180 degrees opposite of what's shown on the manual it's just perfect. Do you think that moving the landing gear back that way (since it's not a straight and perpendicular) would cause any take off problems ?

-Reply from hamityanik (17 points);
Did you see "R" and "L" letters on main landing gear? You need to reference from there.
-Reply from akbaraka (8 points);
You should install it as shown, then put CG to the place intended by moving the battery, or (if that is not enough) by putting some weight in front.
-Reply from Toma (7 points);
L and R make no sense the way they are - only if reversed. If I put it the way it is now the plane doesn't stay 3 wheels on the ground - it tilts back so no sense here. CG both ways is perfectly fine. The only problem is the support (landing gear) when on the ground.

I need a TX/RX is the turnigy X9 ok ? and better than 6 channel HB ? Can you help me to choose ? i cannot tell you the exact size but i can tell you that the 800mah battery is all it fits...I suppose you can dig the foam to allow for a bigger battery but you will have to break the "plastic cage" in which you insert the battery!Hope it helped!
-Reply from borneoflyer (51 points);
800-900mAh 2S will suit and fit for this plane...
-Reply from 1111mavrick (176 points);
The batt. bay on the bottom of the plane is small so i just put the receiver in there and put the batt. under the wing.The wing is quick and easy to remove(just magnets)and you can fit any short,fat, 2-3 cell up to 1300ma.Just make sure its as far forward as possible for the CG to be right
-Reply from dave the geek (34 points);
The battery door is: 39mm X 48mm The bay depth is: 28mm There is a molded pocket inside the bay giving you a total length (from front to rear) inside: 58mm I currently use a 800Mah 2s1p and there is plenty of room. As mentioned before place your battery all the way forward. Mine was still a bit tail heavy after this placement and balanced on the push rod tube at the base of the wing and fuselage.
-Reply from Reinhardt (3 points);
I got a Turnigy nano-tech 850mah 2S 25~40C Lipo Pack, It fits into the opening in the bottom and I get to put my reciever under the wing, I just push the antena tough the bottom past the batt.

To check the exact CG keep the plane in balance on 2 pencils supported at 1/3 of the edge of wing. If plane stays the CG is OK. I think the behavior of your Cessna is given by the power of motor, keep in mind that isn't an acrobatic model and the climb should be quiet :-). If you need vertical climbs you need a 3S battery and a more powerful motor. I put on mine TowerPro Brushless Outrunner 2408-21 and a 1000mAh 3S lipo* it's really wonderful, climbs vertically and is very near to an acrobatic m

  helo, is this model can landing smoothly, coz none of the videos show the smooth landing.

-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);
Yes they can land smoothly they are prone to being a little nose heavy so that can make it hard to land smoothly if you don't understand CG properly. Also you must have a smooth (concrete or bitumen) to land on as the wheels are very small. On a concrete cricket pitch landings are smooth as silk!
-Reply from svoy- (56 points);
watch this video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgbVtjwfELA
-Reply from rokhaul (25 points);
yes you need a very smooth hard surface and a fair bit of practice to land this nicely. I found that the front gear tends to just pop off around the nose and takes most of the impact if you dont land just right. Super easy to fix though, just a couple dabs of glue and your off again.

  Any body know what the propeller or any size almost same to this plane, coz just now broken. i think the 850mah will not fit the CG correct, its still heavy to tail. Its same happen to you friends?

-Reply from Atila (1 points);
Just give you the positions of the flaps and elevator. If the fit is less for the battery, cut it as correct, but do not let the battery weight is a lot so the original weight.
-Reply from Spider Collector (98 points);
The propeller is a 6x3. HK sells this size in their Hardward and Accessories section in the propellers (Master Airscrew). Also if the plane feels tail heavy, add a little weight to the front (like a little clay inside the nose), add and subtract until you reach the desired CoG. There is no need to change your battery.

-Reply from handyjap (490 points);
Correction, Spider Collector, it comes with a 6.30x3.15 propeller which equates to 6x3.47 or 5.5x4.13

-Reply from Kellyann (16702 points);
RCMANIAA what to weigh the battery??? Or the whole plane??? A battery can very for one brand to another up to 10 to 25 grams. But I do have to agree that Hobby King flight weights are very much on the light side. I am sure the do not set the up and weigh them. I think ( and is my view only) they take what they are given (from what they are told). I hope this helps

-Reply from eldadkas (7 points);
yes you can.
-Reply from handyBryan (16 points);
Yes you can but I use 1300mah 3 cell and it flies well. It is a fast little sucker.
-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);
Yes you can and with great results especially if you want this as a basic trainer.
-Reply from svoy- (56 points);
yes you can. But it is necessary to increase the space in the compartment under the batt. removing not a lot of foam in the compartment.
-Reply from rokhaul (25 points);
yes I use the nano-tech 1000mah 25-50c. I put it under the wing though and used a couple pieces of foam from the box to make it wedge in nicely. Put the receiver in the battery box instead. Flies perfect!

  how fast does it go? is it a good plane for beginner?

-Reply from handyjap (490 points);
Not a slow flier at 33g/dm2 BUT very, very stable and not a rocket. I use a MA0635 6x3.5 propeller and 2S or 3S to my liking. PRO: extremely durable and very stable flight, reacts well to controls. CON: weak point is the 2mm motor axle. (When it breaks, just replace with a 3mm axle as only the front part is 2mm.)
-Reply from flyer007 (18 points);
Hi there i hace purcaced one and it is my first plane it flys butifly and not to ast but fast enough

  Would this plane be the best beginner plane? Against a j3 or wilga?

-Reply from Jose Alvaro Jardim de (8 points);
I think that one of the best planes for beginner is the AXN Float jet.Because it have a back notor and is of EPO foam.
-Reply from Darryl (32 points);
why are back facing motors better?
-Reply from Wazza_99 (1160 points);
This is considering you have never flown an rc plane. This minimises damage to the prop/motor shaft whenever you dive in nose first.
-Reply from handyjap (490 points);
Please note this plane does have a wingload of at least 33.3g/sq.dm so it is not so slow

  Hi! I recently bought this model and the motor is snapped off which is usually premounted,the problem is the nose cap of the plane which is already glued.Is there any way to remove the cap or should i cut it?....new to this hobby!...need some help plz!!

-Reply from svoy- (56 points);
Paste between the body and hood
"gently" thin edge of office
a knife. And gradually cut layer "glue." I myself
well done! After clean off the remains with glue of a bonnet
. I pasted into the body of wedges of wood and
hood tightened on the screws!
-Reply from rokhaul (25 points);
I just slowly pulled on the edges of the nose cover a piece at a time to pull it away from the foam body. I replaced the glue with a few small pieces of double sided tape so it could be easily removed in the future. Hope this helps :)

-Reply from Pablo (1 points);
It will do the job, but I recomend you a more easy to fly plane. For a 2nd plane this will be really nice!, but for learning...
-Reply from Darren (14 points);
not a beginner plane, i brought one for my father in law because he wanted to try flying... tried to put it up without me and killed it on his first attempt. I would look at one of the glider style planes with the push type motor. *)
-Reply from Steve_B (104 points);
I'd say no, not a very good plane for a beginner. Small scale planes are never the easiest to fly and what's worse, this one does have any spares available so when you crash (and you will crash) you wont be able to fix it easily.

  Hi huys, is this plane good for beginners? or which model would be good for beginners? any help would welcome. (beginners)

-Reply from hanafi (114 points);
For trainer plane try Hobbyking Bixler EPO 1400mm product id HK-SS-ARF it easy to fly and more stable than this cessna.
-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
Yeah Hana's right i think. I pretty new to the hobby myself and I got this plane not long ago and I can not make it fly. As soon take off it just twist and turn and flip up side down on me. and still now I can not make it fly. So Bixler or a ANX is a good Advice.
-Reply from hanafi (114 points);
and for the cessna try to check the CG, this plane have "tail heavy" you should add more weight at front, my friend give me idea by adding AA battery near the motor.
-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
Hi hanafi, that's exactly what i did but it still very hard to get a stable take off. any advice for me?
-Reply from RCMANIAA (57 points);
For the best CG, you can put 1300mah 2s battery but you should remove the foam in front of the battery comparttment and you must cut the frame of battery compartment, it will give you 40% more flying time.
-Reply from RCMANIAA (57 points);
hi hanafi, minggu main bro? uda beli bixler? hehehe
-Reply from hanafi (114 points);

  What motor nad prop is good for and this plane? thanks.

-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
try this product id 1811-2000 and stock prop is 6*3 but you can try 7*4.
-Reply from RCMANIAA (57 points);
1811-2000 its too small for this plane, this plane need more than 300gr thrust, and the 1811-2000 only have less than 200gr thrust and it wouldn't fly this plane.
-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
Yeah RCman maybe your right I was thinking of the easysky micro cessna. But I was told by sergy a C10 or 18-11 2000kv brushless outrunner will fit. other said the replacement motor for AXN 2208-2150 or the Towerpro 2408-21 would be good too.

  Hi there, is this plane good for beginners? I have flown the smaller micro cessna but have i want to know if this ok for the next step up. thanks.

-Reply from diego.75 (17 points);
If you're flying good the smaller you would be ok for this. In my opinion this need a little more power to be very good so a motor upgrade. I advice you Light Aircraft 182 980mm wingspan, it's very good and the settings are more easy, for a little more money *)
-Reply from Maumy (519 points);
Yeah if you have flown the micro cessna 182 from esaysky before than this should be ok for the next step up. but have to warn you that for this bird you need to get the CG right of else it pretty unpredictable. like i have experience.

Do you mean the plastic cowling or the metal prop adapter? you can get a new prop adapter, you'll just need to measure the shaft diameter of you motor and purchase one that fits. é muito bom, barato, facil de instalar, bom para iniciantes que não pretendem gastar muito em um futaba com um monte de funções que não ira usar.
Mas um lembrete, compre umas pilhas a mais, pois ele é gastador 8 baterias AA de uma vez.

  Hello, I´*d like to know witch is the battery model that better fits in the compartment? Could you recommend, please? Thanks

-Reply from Wazza_99 (1160 points);
I would recommend any 600mah battery if you want perfect cg. If you go heavier than that, you will need to adjust. If its in the 600 range, it will fit easily. With an 800, it will be a tight fit.
-Reply from CesarSan (1 points);
Thanks for the reply! Do you know how long can I fly with this battery?
-Reply from Wazza_99 (1160 points);
Depending on your style of flying, 5-10 minutes. I like to be aggressive so my flight times were around 3-5 minutes but my battery was bad and at the time, I only had that small 2s bat.
-Reply from CesarSan (1 points);
I couldn´t find any 600mah battery at hobbyking.com. Did you buy it here?

  No Replacement Parts Available - I confirmed this with HobbyKing customer support. I need to replace the cowl but it wasn't available for sale. If you're a beginner, you are likely to crash it and need replacement parts. Sadly, none are available. Very fragile motor shaft* too short for prop saver - bends very easily, and a hassle to straighten. One way to reduce bending is to use a prop saver, but the shaft is too short for it. I had to buy another motor with a thicker, longer shaft, to fit a prop saver. Poor Center of Gravity (CoG) - I tried to shift the ESC, receiver, and battery, as near to the nose as I could, yet the CG was still near to the tail. An off-balanced plane is unflyable, so I added 14grams of weight to the cowl. That balanced the plane nicely.

Dgpilot (73 points)

  Sorry guys but this is NOT a trainer plane, it's far too small to be a trainer.

-Reply from LEONARDO DE MACEDO (64 points);
Dgpilot, this plane is a good trainer if you fly with dual-rate and exponencial, and no wind.
-Reply from Dgpilot (73 points);
I wasn't asking I'm telling, as an intermediate/advanced pilot I'm telling you a newbie could not fly this.
-Reply from Miguel FP (1300 points);
I learn to fly with a plane like this. Being small is less stressing than a bigger one, and as Leonardo says is a matter of DR and Expos and slow wind, until 8 mph she flies very well. And another advantage is that you can fly her almost every where, don't have to go to airfield every time.

  Alright, I got my package with replacement motor. So I would recommend ID: FC2805. I found it more powerful than stock one. With prop ID: MA0740, and MA0730 (7x4 and 7x3) it flies just great. In hi-moderate wind it keeps fine. Esc becomes a bit warm, but no problem so far.

With a 2/3 of throttle I feel plane runs as 100% of stock motor.

Note that you should adjust motor mount - it doesn't match stock one. You have to drill few holes for screws and wires.

-Reply from City_Spud (204 points);
You can use a apc 8x4 on it,or any brand standard"tension"style prop.
-Reply from shai (1 points);
i bought the 8X4 and it was a bit too long - it touched the ground. i used sand-paper to make it shorter a bit, hope it will be OK. HK, you should add a spare propeller to this kit, or sell it separately...
-Reply from City_Spud (204 points);
Did you make sure after sanding that prop was balanced?if not make sure it is!by running a unbalanced prop you can do damage to motor,or worse rip/break motor mount off in flight!you can always go with a little smaller prop,say a 7x5 or even 7x6.make sure the metal landing gear is not bent,from those landings over time.i use a 8x4 with clearence,but there may be a difference in H.K models from time to time,as H.K uses different manufactures for there products. Expl: fms/prcofoam manuf.... Hope this helps...

  Hey guys, rceived the plane, and the esc battery connecter labeled xt60. I have no idea what battery i should buy that can connect on it. I also realise when i browse the batteries on hobbyK, some has yellow and large connecter and some doesnt, can somebody guide me through this?

-Reply from Ca4lo (156 points);
yes the yellow large ones are xt-60 and should be the right one. the other ones are ether large red deans connectors or small red jst. on hobbyking planes the most common are the xt60.

  Have had great fun with this plane. Stable flier, good 2nd step plane. Main complaint is lack of spares, especially cowl. Prop shaft does bend easily.

  Just got my Cessna 182 a few days ago. No instructions in the box. Also bought a 6 channel mode 2 Tx/Rx at the same time, also HK and also no instructions. Don't want to burn anything up. The guy at the Hobby store said he couldn't get the prop to work either. Please help!

-Reply from Karl (608 points);
It says to use a 6.3x3.15 but I think that you would be fine with a 6x4 prop if your asking what type of prop to use, because it has a smaller diameter and a higher pitch. The hobby shops usually have those in an APC style. As for the transmitter, go under the files tab on the product page and look in there. Hope that this helps and happy flying.

  what clowns thinks/invents/ships of something like this : the decals are bigger than the area they need to cover. the battery connector is a XT60 while a 2s 850mah accu itself has a small connector. the tail comes seperately but with no means of attaching it. there is no decalplan, you have to figure out yourself what decal has to go where. the already glued on windscreen isnt glued on properly

-Reply from Kenneth (3 points);
Sounds like you've gotten a *** plane with the windshield not attached properly. You should have rejected it, and Hobby King would send you a new one. As for the decals, they SHOULD be the right size for the plane, you really don't need a decal plan if you know a Cessna 182, or have access to the internet. All HK planes come with the XT60 connector for the battery, if you're using a battery with the JST plug, there's a Female to male JST to XT60 adapter on the website.
-Reply from jeroen (5 points);
nice to know every plane comes with the xt60 plug. So why isn`t that mentioned in the description. Or even better why isnt the adapter delevered with the plane as the HK battery packs do come with a jst plug?
-Reply from Kenneth (3 points);
Yanno? The first one is a very good question. The description could be a bit better. The second question is an easy answer: it boils down to money and making it.
-Reply from Batmo (50 points);
Kenneth me lad you hit the nail on the head, money, wot does one want for 49dolla. Cant have it all your own way. Would be nice, but does not happen in this world.

  is it possible to make the nosewheel steerable??

-Reply from UltraFlyerDude (18 points);
I think with some work, it is possible. You might need a mount that can allow you to do that though.
-Reply from tejas (16 points);
You need to attach the hard string from wheel to rudder servo! So when the rudder moves the plane steers!
-Reply from City_Spud (204 points);
Buy a stearable nose gear and use a 4 to 5gr servo to control movement use gear channel on ur rx thats if you have one installed already.

-Reply from Steve_B (104 points);
According to previous reply a few posts down from yours HK customer service confirmed that no spares were available for this model. I'd not worry too much because wheel pants usually get knocked off once you fly anyway.

-Reply from Leigh (13 points);
As a rule of thumb the COG can be calculated by dividing the wing width by 1/3 and 1/4 then the centre of these two measurements is a place to start back from the leading edge.
-Reply from jeroen (5 points);
just to be sure i understand width of wing is 9 devided by 3 =3 3 : 4= 0,75 cog is at 3,75 ?????
-Reply from City_Spud (204 points);
Just use a rulers edge! Less math and caculation involved.
-Reply from Leigh (13 points);
hey jeroen, with a wing width of 9", divide that by 3 gives you 3", divide it by 4 gives you 2.75", 3-2.25=0.75, add that to 3" gives you 3.75". so 3.75" back from the leading edge is a good place to start, some adjustments from here may be required

-Reply from Edwin (1 points);
I have the same problem and waiting for someone to help us...so if you have answer let me now please...
-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Hi Edwin and Nicolas, When you connect the battery to the esc, do you hear beeping or nothing. What you could try is: turn the trim of your throttel(motor) channel all the way to the lowest point and then connect the battery.
-Reply from NICOLAS (3 points);
this is what i do but there is no sound . is there any video or manual to do this ?. there is only a light when i connect the esc.
-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Ok if there is no beeping at all, check if the leads from the esc to the motor are ok. Are you sure the esc is connected to the correct channel of your receiver?
-Reply from NICOLAS (3 points);
how do i check if it is correct.(the plane was already installed when i received it)i only put the pin of the esc to bat and channels 1-2-3(note that i have a fun fighter which i never flew cause i need to learn a bit before that monster, and when i connect with the same way i hear the beeep - beeep)is it possible that the motor installed wrong from factory??

-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
What kind of tx and rx are u using? Check your channels, the bat pin is not used for esc. The esc should go in your throtlle channel.
-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Do you have a manual for your tx and rx. I think on your HK rx the throttle is channel nr 3. The batt channel is used when u use an external powersource other then the builth in bec of the esc.
-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Ok Nicolas I've beel looking on youtube for more info on your problem. According to the youtube clip "Hobbyking - Hobbyking 4CH 2.4 ghz " the channels are as folows: Ch 1 = Ailleron Ch 2 = Elevator Ch 3 = Throtle (esc) Ch 4 = Rudder Try this and let me know what happens.

  i did change the series as you told me all other servos works ok except throtle. i have the impression that motor is not connect correctly by factory is there any way to check it??

NICOLAS (3 points)
5/3/2014
  ok what i did was first turn on remote then connect the way u told me and now i can hear the noise beep - beep noise end all servos works ok except motor, shall i do something to bind or should do it automatically.(perhaps the first impression of loose motor?)

-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
It should initialize automatically. Try this: turn everything of first. Then on your transmitter put the trim of your "gas" stick all the way to the lowest possition. Then turn on your transmitter and then connect the battery to the esc.(also keep the "gas" stick to the lowest point.)If that does not work try reversing your throtle channel on the receiver, and start again.

  the strange thing is that all servos are working normally. except motor is this normal??will it be helpfull if i upload a video??

-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
Ok, the servo's are working, that means the bec (powersource) of the esc is ok. What you could try is this: turn everything of, then put your trothle stick to ful power and turn on your transmitter, then connect the battery. Normaly you should hear one beep, if you hear that beep directly pull the trothle stick to the down possition. With most esc this procedure will tell the esc what the endpoints of your tx are. Is there a local rc club or flying field where you could ask for help? Maybe you just have a bad esc, This needs to be tested.
-Reply from J.remery (32 points);
I hope by saying: I have left it alone, you don't mean the hobby of rc. Don't let one bad expirience keep you from having lots of fun flying rc!
-Reply from Unreal_Reaver (5 points);
beep beep endlessly is due to bad calibration of throttle, just do what J.remery said. Full throttle, connect battery, wait for 2 beeps (that should stop), then go back to the initial position.

  what size prop does this plane swing? If you could include the product code aswell i will award point to best answer!

Hi, Check if your Tx throttle is reversed or not, try to reverse it if not the case. It may be caused by your ESC setup in wrong channel on Rx.

  just got this plane plugged everything in, all the servos work but the throttle, it just beeps. I think the esc is in program mode, help what do i do.?

-Reply from SigiK (513 points);
This happens if you plug in the plane battery before powering up the tx. Always power up the tx before the plane. (Shut down in reverse.) If you have the manual for the ESC you can program it with the tx. If no manual, you can look at a HK ESC manual e.g. PRODUCT ID: F-20A . Click on the 'files' tab and then on 'manual'. Works for most ESCs..
-Reply from Miguel FP (1300 points);
Try to stablish trhottle routine, that is: Put trhottle stick all way up then connect ESC, when beep begin get down throttle, disconnect ESC. Hope this helps.
