Hi, I wish to connect my old batteries the same as everyone else, do new batteries come fitted with this connector, if so is the positive lead connected to the male or female connector?
hey Caragana, new batteries only come fitted with whats in the pictures(long and short ive never seen them on batteries or esc's .fitting them is personal preference(male or female for positive dosnt matter )i use these also for the motor connections as will but have started buying these as will PolyMax 3.5mm Gold Connectors 10 PAIRS (20PC) for motor ,a bit shorter (you have to heatshrink them but all good)tips 1) when soldering do all esc's connectors first and inbetween soldering check and recheck the positive you have selected is the same for all esc's.same gose for batteries keep all things separate so you wont get mixed up(i have done this a number of times with a" not happy jan" ending)2)buy more than you need(i always add some if postage allows for those" not happy jan" moments and are handy to have spares always ).3)if you havent soldered the connectors before get online and search (soldering lipo bullet connectors rc )people have kindly posted vids on tube(thats how i learnt.goodluck happy flying
Always connect the female side to the batteries. Power sources always have female end of the plug just like AC outlets in your home. It is so to prevent short circuits. Different brands use different connectors on their batteries. Mostly HK batteries have XT60 plugs.
these are rated for nearly 60 Ampers.and 12awg fits easy.fit the cable first in the cover, solder but, very important, wait until it's cool then push it back until you hear "click" and it's done.
These are actually HXT 3.5mm, not 4, but still - no, these aren't compatible with XT60. You need an XT60 male connector to connect to the battery. I use these to connect the ESC to the motor, works fine for that.
Hi guys, im new to this hobby. Want to know if this connector can be used as a plug in esc wires to battery as well as to motor? Or there is a dedicated plug for connecting battery and esc?
yes for motor and esc to batteries.depends on what size battery your using the connecters on they are rated to carry a certain amount of amps as would wires.the net shows you how to solder them to wires.i use them on 3s 1000/1300,2s 1000. buy more than you need.tip buy the non covered gold connectors/heatshrink as well for motors (shorter than these ones but handy)good luck .
How to calculate the battery rate to match with correct connector? Can i use 2200mah 25c 3s with this connector?
And as well as use it with 30A ESC, and 1300 kv brushless motor.
These are alright but the piss me off. ima jsut a kid and im not very strong and these connector are real hard to put together. and to pull apart.
The connectors are also constantly puling themselves to pieces
i Tried this connectors and the work just fin but you have to a little coustios when you soilder them ´togther with the wire take it easy and you have a nice fitting
Although the connectors are a great (cheap) idea the dual arrangement allows two batteries to be connected together (NOT GOOD). The covers are cheap but the connectors are ok. A cheap source of 3.5mm brushless motor connectors (just ditch the covers).
Very useful stuff... They can withstand large current (peak and mean value) and the construction allowed them to be short circuit protected!...and they are very cheap!
I'm assuming what you mean by banana plug is the Polymax 3.5 mm gold plugs item# AM1001A. The diameter of the plugs are the same so they will plug into each other. I do it all the time. The gold part of the HXT plugs are a little longer than the Polymax so you cannot use the red HXT housing for the Polymax plugs.
They are not as long as other brand banana plugs but I bought these and swithed all my batteries and esc connectors to these type and they seem to work very well with little current loss hope this helped and answers your qustion
Yes they are, Hope this answered your Questions, if you are satisfied with this Answer please click on Usefull, Thumbs Up or LIKE it , which ever will display.. thank you
don't worry friend,Even me also bought this connectors few days ago..they were look like original and working perfect..So you don't worry about it..they are good replacement for tiger lipo connectors.
I have managed to fit up to 14AWG comfortably into these connectors. The 12AWG that came on a couple of batteries that I purchased here did not fit through the plastic casing so I don't think 10AWG wire will work at all. I hope that helps.
I used this connectors for my turnigy 2200mah 3S 40c lipo Packs. But i had to use a Tuning mashine to get the plastic Part on the Gold contacts from the Front... But that works really fine!
I placed my order on the 6th of July while I though it would arrive in the following week. I am still waiting and the whole order is being held - I am aso not able to cancel the item from the list – please hurry* it is near one month since this item shows in backorder …
This applies when using the 3.5mm shell with the 3.5mm connector (or the other connectors of this type with their own shells).
When you're soldering, the shell is not yet on the connector. I wanted to say, that prepare the male connector for the bigger shell's wire and the female for the tighter one's wire. Hope this clears it.
Guys, I'm mostly using the shells of these 3.5mm connectors to hold the 4mm connectors. I have to dremel the shells a bit, but that's not a biggie. Simply solder the wire to the 4mm connector, put on some heatshrink and then put on the shell ontop of it. They don't come apart for me.
For some other connections I use them with their own shells. If you use your brains, then you won't ever miss polarities.
First, drive the wires through the shells. Put the female connector into the tighter shell and the male end into the bigger shell, solder them onto the wires but pay attention not to let stuff flow all over the outside of the connector. There's a small notch that will keep the shell on the connector, once you pull the shell over the connector (remember, you've put on the shells BEFORE soldering), do the same on the other device as well. This way, you can be sure you won't reverse polarities!
Jeah the weight is super. A pair of XT60 is 6,7 gram, a pair of this product is 4,6 gram. Same amperages and this connector is half the price of XT60! Plus no female-male problems.
I'm using ESCs with dean connectors on them and I recently purchased a battery from hobbyking with these connectors on them. Does hobbyking sell adapters that I can use instead of having to cut and solder connectors?
if we use ec3 connectors always teh female connectors are on teh battary side. but at these connectors one male and one female connectors are at the battery side. so which one is true ? or isn't there any difference between two ways of connecting.
See www.link I would urge HobbyCity to switch to a single convention for the 3 and 4mm connectors: on the battery end only female connectors with red/positive into the WIDE side of the red plastic sleeve. This is similar to the EC3/EC5 approach and reduces risk of accidentally plugging in an extension cord with the heatshrink male/red female/black convention into batteries incorrectly...
I bought some of these and thought they were great untill I realized that when assembled ( plugged together ), the bullets only engage about 1/8". The plugs are too long for the bullet connectors to butt up all the way. I don't like only having 1/8" engagment for high current applications!
Um Guys these are 5 pairs! Each "half" contains 1 red plastic cover, 1 male pin and 1 female socket. This means you can make 10 battery connectors OR 10 ESC connectors OR 5 Battery connectors to go onto 5 ESC connectors.
Spot on Flamingdrongo and Pedr, 30pcs in the hole set, a total 10 complete connectors as Pedr said "you can make 10 battery connectors OR 10 ESC connectors OR 5 Battery connectors to go onto 5 ESC connectors." I'm chuckin 4 bags in me trolley right now :) and the best part about them is you don't end up with a bunch of male or female deans left over like i have (I've got about 17 spare female deans now, a total waste of postage weight and money)
Same question as geink! I got 2 battery with those connector and I whish to change them with "my" standard connector, till I'll change it. Should I cut the wires? Anyway BE CAREFUL! Connectors should get out of protectors ONE AT TIME!!! ... if connected to a battery. :-)

Really, the batteries came with the 4mm connectors instead of theese.
Used these for the first time today. found that you have to pull wires very hard to get the connector to snap into place. Perhaps one needs to press the connector into place from the front using another bullet connector?
use a small screwdriver to push the females in the red protector, female on the male and same system, just a thought, I always find a way one way or another =:-)
Great connectors with solid and robust connection. I have used them upto 40 amps without any warming. Not sure about the rated 80Amps... you certainly need to have a good solder and a min 14 AWG.
Dimension : (the female and the male side is the same) Because of the pin is totaly covered, so the dimension is for the cover only L 17.5mm x W 16.5mm X H 7mm Total Length when connected together : L 26mm
plus smaller that Deans plus no need of using a heat sink tube plus at first it is hard to solder the connector, but if you get the idea, u can assemble this connector in no time plus more..., much more easy to asemble compare to it's big brother (4mm bullet) plus it's a tight fit when connect together plus/- No possibility for re-useable (disassembly), but it's cheap! - posibility of wrong polarity (be careful when assemble it)
Conclusion : this connector is a very nice replacement for Deans or T-Conncetor, it doens't take much space compare with Deans or T-connector, no need using any heat shrink tube, no worries of melted cover when soldering, also it's cheap and light enough (only 10gr), but be very carefull when using this connector, you have to use a different wire color so that you not accidentaly put it in the wrong polarity (also when assembly)
* Tips for soldering/assembly: - slide the wire first into the cover - then solder the wire to it's connector - then first push/slide the female pin into the cover until you hear a "tick" sound (you will know when you do it) - then for the male pin, u can use the other female pin, then conncet it together then you can push/slide the male pin into the cover easly, until you hear a "tick" sound - DONE, easy isn't? no n

16 thumbs up!
Review for: (AM-1008x10) HXT 3.5mm Gold Connector w/ Protector (10pcs/set) - These are awesome connectors! So much easier to work with compared to deans plugs especially when using thicker wires and you don't have to worry about adding heat shrink tubing. Its an all in one solution for connecting your power!! I am now replacing all my deans with the 4mm and 3.5mm versions of these...5 STAR
Absolutely ok for the price, but becomes a bit weak (mechanically) after many connection cycles. Electrically still o.k.

6 thumbs up!
I have just received my order of these. a pack of ten male bulets, ten female bullets and 10 housing arrived just as described. They appear to go together to form a very solid connection. When wiring up make sure you put wire through housing first then solder connector and then push the connector back into the housing till it snaps. Too easy. You can't beat them for price!!
