ow can the alarm output be used to shutdown a charger? Thanks :)

Anybody know when these where last in stock?

They are now, grab it while you still can!

Is it possible to see the percent??
 PonyoFS 13 points
No, you can't. It's possible with the L1 (L1 In-flight Voltage Logger & Health Analyzer (1-6S)) but with no log memory.
 dirk pitt 5 points
pcnt of state of charge is only possible with devices counting the current passing through (mAh). all the devices measuring only the voltages like cellLog cannot do it. But the cellLog has other advantages like alarm output (to a buzzer or LED or what U want) and it is a data Logger .

I'm looking for a Logger to log power peaks (W=V*A) from the battery/motor. Which one would you recommend? Thank you
 Lachlan 16 points
This cell monitor only does voltage. You could try the Turnigy 130A Watt Meter and Power Analyzer
dmitryl  14 points - 5/27/2011

How many data and for how long time could it keep?
 Lachlan 16 points
Its says 200 hours on mine.
 dirk pitt 5 points
also depends of time interval (programmable) because it has a maximum number of saved values (16Mb memory) They say 36hours at maximum rate.
dmitryl  14 points - 3/30/2011

Is it compatible with the LiFePo4 batteries?
 PonyoFS 13 points
Yes, with all batteries, but you will setup the voltage before.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 Eroic 12 points
yes , it work with all battery under 48V
 Admir 5 points
Of course it works fine with LiFePO4, look at mine battery pack with 40s and 5 cellogs at: ***********eval*******/popupimg.php?16522

Is valid for NiMH????
 tim 5 points
it only works with balance connectors usually found on most lipo packs
 PonyoFS 13 points
yes, is valid for Nimh but over 4V.

Do HobbyKing have extra connectors for the alarm port? For instance, are these right? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem
.asp?idProduct=9700 tx
 JBoyd 26 points
Alarm port is just a 1S JST-XH port, put a bundle of the extensions from HobbyKing and cut one of the ends off to make it look exactly like the one you got in the box

MAX CELL VOLTAGE:
I have seen on youtube some running two cells per slot and showing 6VDC per cell.
The guide says Cell voltage range: 1.3 ~ 4.9VDC.
Anyone know the real limits?
Can i run a 48V pack on one celllog with 2 cells per slot?

Great product, however it needs to updat , for the changeble update rate (0.5to 60 seconds, 0,5s intervall)

Download:***********hillrc****/Upl
oadFiles/CellLog_8S.pdf

Read
the manual download the mentionod upgrader.
Read the instructions, install the driver wich came on the cd. Install update program.
Select the box COM port on the update program!! otherwise it wil not find the celllogger hardware.
Download the desired update file, but RENAME it!, in other words ADD the extension .BIN , otherwise the program wil not find update file.

Press update, and it will update, and have an beter menu, with the coiche of the so wanted interval change, of 0,5 to 60 secend with o,5 sencond interval.

GREAT FUN!
 psygho 107 points
Even celllog works fine, and show the corrected intervalls. I read two times the seconds, becouse one is the halve second, the second is the whole second! in an tabel it looks like:

log time actual time

1 4.001 0,5 second
1 4.001 1,0 second
2 4.001 1,5 second
2 4.XXX 2,0 second

Etc etc

Standard zippy balance connetor are accepted

What kind of Balance connectors does this thing use. I am using Thunder Power Packs!!! - Richard
 Heliart 20 points
the input plug has only pins to connect to the Balancer cable. So every Balancer connector fits /w pin spacing .100" (2.54mm)
shinyballs  15 points - 9/20/2009

Reading page 9 of the manual, it states an external alarm can be used by wiring it at the alarm output of the Cell Log. But it is not working, no power from the output when I checked with my volt meter.
Does the alarm output of this thing actually works?
 Jeff 15 points
It's an open collector transistor which is used as a switch. It doesn't supply any power.
 Heliart 20 points
The alarm output is an open collector, this means there is no voltage. Open Collector closes a line, this means, on on pin you have to connect a LED with it's resistor, the other side to your supply voltage. Connect the second pin of the alarm outpout to ground. Be aware maximum current <50mA.

What type(s) of balance plug does this accept? Does it come with any adapters?
 Heliart 20 points
the input plug has only pins to connect to the Balancer cable. So every Balancer connector fits /w pin spacing .100" (2.54mm). You don't need any adapters.

If this works as shown, it would be great, but, like sikeston34m has stated, my German is ***r, except where they decide to use english. Anyone find an English version out there?
 Paladin 17 points
On the logview screen there is a little british flag in the upper right side.
It will xlate the web page to english there - but the manual is a total different story.

I can't get mine to connect to the computer. Not a Newbie here. The USB driver won't work with Vista, so I installed it on an XP Computer. The XP Machine still can't see the unit. The Driver appears to be installed correctly. I went to the software website, but I have a tough time reading German. Where can I find help?

Hey guys,

just send me the text via Email and I will help ya with translating.

Come on celllog will not work with windows 7 any new software for this problem. No one uses windows xp anymore.
 Gordon 1 points
I wrote my own program in VB6 that works on win7. The Junsi USB driver does work on win7, so the 115kBaud COM port is available. HobbyKing may need to email me to discuss options to make something available. BTW I use winXP whenever possible.

My cellog, when plugged in to either a battery or USB port, keeps resetting every three seconds. I can't get any analysis data to display on the screen. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, or is my unit defective?
AlexBonfire  153 points - 6/15/2009

Looks like a very useful tool to see, in what each cell of your battery is during the flight and during high load discharge.

But: the sample logging interval is too long. With only one value each 2 seconds you might miss the real peaks.
 Blue Angel 1462 points
This Cell-Log is firmware updateable.
The manufactor, Junsi, has already said in the rcgroups forum, that there will be a new firmware released with a faster interval.
 fire42 159 points
Heres what you see in logview, very cool and useful, great for analysing iffy pack performance!
 fire42 159 points
 psygho 107 points
Manual shows an interval of 0,5s to 60 seconds (per 0.5second)
Default is 2 seconds. So no worry!
An halve second does the job for me! i orderd one!
 Phil916 28 points
Incredible product for the price.
With the alarm function you can make a simple battery datalogger/cycler
 Heliart 20 points
that's not right, you can change the sample rate to 0.5 sec.

24 thumbs up!
Just Installed on PC, early days yet - install not straight forward into XP had to maunally load logger - Language is German - even English is German in logger. Why can't we get Mac simplicity - install find device connect and work. This all seems disconnected, disjointed and take half a life time to fathom it out. Monitor itself works and reads batteries, but Windows XP monitoring - may take too much time away from building to bother with!

Nice voltage monitor with many modes. The 0.001V resolution seems like a nice reassurance but the noise level seems a little high considering the slow update rates. The mini-CD with drivers was difficult for my PC to read but it did go eventually, but I'd say the real problem (for non-Germans) is the 3rd party shareware that one needs to use for to recover data... I've yet to make it work, and yet to donate.

When I placed the supplied mini CD into the drive, Windows kindly asked me what I'd like to write to my blank CD... I'm more amused than annoyed, but it's an inconvenience. From what I can piece together (by randomly pressing buttons whilst searching for an English manual online) this is a great tool that will help me further understand what sort of performance I'm getting from my setups overall.
