hi would this setup be an equivalent to the Hpi Blur120A and Hpi tork 2200kv brushless system used in a hpi savage flux hp im wanting to convert my savage xl into brushless and looking for around the same horsepower and speed as th bigblock 5.9 engine if anyone could help that would be great thanks
 Michael 13 points
It will work perfectly. this combo has more power that you can handle. for truggys and MT the 2000kv version is better than 2200kv, because it has more torque. I use it in a 1/8 truggy with punch mode level 1 and 5S and never had more power and speed without overheating!

ok thanks would I be able to configure the setup so I can run 2 3s batteries like the flux blur esc with dual battery setup thanks
 Michael 13 points
this depends on wire harness and not on ESC, so you can build the wire harness as you need it.

*firedawg so this motor is quicker than other trackstar motors which have higher current amps ? thank you
Trill  1 points - 4/17/2013

How come it only says the max current of motor is 76Amp ? Will it burn if I use a 4s lipo which has current higher than that? for example 4s2p 6000mah 60c. Anyone please reply, thank you!
 firedawg 54 points
No you will be okay, the battery should always be much higher in capacity then you plan to deliver. This motor under normal heavy draw, will "ask" for 76 amps, ensure your esc and and battery can provide this and you will be fine unless you run it wide open constantly, nothing likes that.

How would this do in a large scale crawler? 3906 e-maxx 11 to 70 gear ratio?

I am running this in a Revo 3.3 converted. I am running a 16T Pinion and a 40T Spur. It has plenty of speed and still wheel stands on demand. I am running a Turnigy Nano-Tech 4S Lipo.

I've got this setup in a e revo with 4s lipo ran a couple times now its cogging and the esc ain't beeping. when I turn it on the esc flashes red, green, green. is it the esc or the motor? Can it be fixed or is it broken?
 Matthew 11 points
You need to change the gearing. Cogging is cause by the motor not being able to turn at a dead stop. I'm betting that if you pick it up it will turn the wheels without a problem. If so you'll need to reduce the pinion a tooth or 2.

 Shaggy102 2 points
Its not the gearing The motor is cogging even when the motor and esc is out the car with no resistance. It was working for a couple months and the motor never ran hot one day just started cogging
 Matthew 11 points
Did you get the ESC wet, or could there be dirt int he motor? In either case if the ESC got wet it's caused shorting but not to the extent that the ESC won't initiate. Or you have something in the motor that is causing a similar issue. Worst case is you won't be able to fix it on your own and have to send it in.

does this esc work with a 4 pole sensored motor like the Turnigy TrackStar 1/8th Sensored Brushless Motor 2350KV?
 ROGER RAMJET 52 points
yes it will but you cant use the sensored wire
 Mar11 1980 points
y cant u use the sensor.. they are both sensored ?
Leon  23 points - 12/27/2012

Hi how does this compare to the newer turnigy waterproof kits 1/8 ?? they are half the price and have higher kv with bigger amp draw ? does that mean they are faster then this one?
 Mar11 1980 points
good question .. i have this for more than 2 years ago and never tried yet..
mike  1 points - 12/9/2012

XO-1 I have a turnigy 150a 2000kv system will this system be good for my XO-1 the stock motor was a 1650kv castle system motor burned out don't want to pay 150 to replace it
 Capt. Morgan 164 points
Should work perfectly. U may have to change your gearing for the higher kv motor. Try it first and just watch your temps.
 Capt. Morgan 164 points
Forgot to mention if your temps do start getting up there but U like the perfomance, as geared, U can always add a heatsink fan combo for $20-$25 to bring motor temps back in range.
 Mar11 1980 points
or 5 $ here on hobbyking.. i got it and it fits perfect on this motor ?

1 thumbs up!
I used this in my TNX5.2r as a replacement for the stock nitro engine. Took a E-Revo tranny and im running 21T pinion on the stock tranny spur gear. I've run this for close to 7 months now and i've not had any problems with it. Running on 4s lipo and the engine has no problems with this lipo setup. Grate ECS with plenty of programming options using the programming card. The only downside i can see is if you run the engine above 4s.

1 thumbs up!
I have run a castle creations mamba monster. I'll say right now this setup makes CC it's bitch. and it costs half as much money. I used to be a loyal CC customer until i spent 300$ for a 1/8 scale mamba monster system . I used to buy CC because they advertise heavily MADE IN USA and I try to show some loyalty to the local manufacturers. My mamba system had made in China all over it. Turnigy stuff rocks and works good as any brand I have ever used

One more thing to add. I am running Turnigy ESC's motors and batteries in aircraft, helis, cars, and boats. Their quality is second to none and nobody touches their price. I have seen people complain about turnigy stuff and usually they under engineered their system. I have no complaints about this company except harshly marked up shipping costs. If they got that straightened out I would use them as my main source.

Running this in a stock Traxxas E-Maxx #3905. Excellent power. Running with 2x2S Rhino, for a total of 4S (14,8v). Insane power! No heat issues!

Highly recommended!!
