You've got to be kidding me!!!!! I just cancelled this item and now it's back. ARGHHHH! I will order again now. 3 months is too long to be out of stock.
OK, it's been 60 days. I am used to ordering backorder items and waiting, but this is unacceptable. If it's not available, get an alternate product and remove this one. Letting people give you money for something that will never ship is not right. I will email CS and give it a couple more weeks. It's a motor, it has to be made, not invented!
I agree. Totally unacceptable. They just keep giving me the run-around.. I asked them to figure out whats going on, and they never got back to me... i've called, e-mailed and used the online help, and they are totally useless. I've also been waiting over 3 months... hobby king, get your **** together!
Will this thing every be re-stocked? it's been over 2 weeks since I ordered, and still no stock., and I was following the item for a while before I ordered it, I know it's been more than 20 days.
It might be a while. I've been waiting a month. It's either this or the overpriced brands. Doesn't matter to me, I have plenty of projects and my Losi Micro DT is boxed up waiting for this motor.
What ESC would be suitable for this motor on 1s LiPo?
I am gearing it down heavily for a rubber model plane and am hoping to run around 12-14 inch (balsa) prop but I am having difficulty finding a suitable ESC for single cells that will handle the suggested 7A max
this motor is too heavy, for what you are doing. Also, there is a geared down version of this on this web site. I would recommend the hexTronik 5gram Brushless Outrunner 2000kv. this way you can use 2 cells and come in around the same weight, maybe less. I am using it on a 60g su-26m, and it has plenty of power. I have a rubber band plane that I have added balsa control surfaces to and the air frame weighs half what the foam one does, o it should be around 45g when finished with a Turnigy nano-tech 180mAh 2S 25C Lipo Pack, 3 HK-5320 Ultra-Micro Digital 1.7g servos with carbon fiber control rods, the Turnigy Plush 6a ESC, and a $pektrum ar6400. The Turnigy 1220 Brushless Inrunner Motor 10300kv is almost twice the weight, plus the gear box.
Thanks Doug, I fully understand your comments however I need to run off only a single Lipo. I opted for high kv (and rpm) so that I can gear it down considerably so as to run the large rubber model prop at around 600rpm without drawing too much current.
no, you do not need a heat sink, just make sure you gear it correctly. It does get pretty hot, I had a fan mounted on top of the motor to cool it down.
Use the smaller pinion, since it´s a HI kv motor for the car.
If you are going to use more than 2S and/or bigger pinion use adicinal heat sink.
Remember that it´s not a direct fit.
You have to mod the motor plate and buy the screws PRODUCT ID: 831403.
I wanna use it to my losi micro SCT, but I see that it takes only 1 s then how to use it? I run that on 3 s & the motor is HK 4500 kv. Same turnigy motor.
Yes it will! You will have to mod the motor plate, but it is totally worth it! This motor is sooo much better than the losi motor and it is half the price. I highly reccomend this motor. Credits please. Thank you!
Please corect the real dimension of motor shaft-diameter and length ! In the Product Config Table is the realone, or in the upper description?????? What`s the real diameter and length of shaft? Please tell me ! Best regards ! Lucian
yes but you need a smaller diameter screw to mount it and you need to cut different slots in the motor mount so its a bit to much work for me i wouldn't recommend it
Actually, it can not fit the mcpx I buy it sevel month ago, but there is no way to install in mcpx there is no srew hole on the motor not shown as in picture
this motor is excellent for MCPx with just little modification of the original frame - took me 10minutes. Two holes in original frames exactly fit mounting holes of this motor. In combination with ESC from miraclemart You can upgrade Your bird in powerfull BL 3D machine for less than 40bucks!! Highly recomended!!
it would be a bit big for it you should get a motor that is about half this size and you should get an out runner motor they are better for planes and they dont need gearboxes
The N20 motor is little bit smaller: 15mm long instead of 20mm long. As well this motor has a higher Kv and power compared to the N20. It can run 2S with a 20C 360mAh using max 7Amp
Generally I'm looking for small brushless system to replace brushed on nine eagles sky runner, with little hand work I suppose this will fit?
it waits now 85g in flight, with 250mah 2s lipo, I've ordered new one of turnigy nano 370mah, with 0.2 kg micro servo, I suppose this will fit?
i dont know what the n20 motor is but yes this motor was made to take 360mah 2cell batterys you wont have any problems with runing a battery that size on it
no this motor is well to small you need a 2030 inrunner size motor or if you wont that little bit more torque go for a 2040 inrunner size just check there is enough from for the 2040, but the 2030 will fit straight in as that is the size they come with standard
I have this motor installed on my XMODS Gen 1 , which is 1:28 scale . It works well but overheating very easy . YOu need a 2030 inrunner with 2 mm shaft for your model dude *-)
no this motor is to small even for a 1/36 scall car so dont try it you need a much bigger motor you need to go to the car specs and see what size the stock motor is and get one that size or longer do not go with a larger or smaller diameter motor it wont fit the car
Can you please specify which type '180' motor you have? There are several motors named 180. Some are round, some round with 2 flat sides, rated for different voltages, ... If brand is unknown maybe numbers/letters printed on it?
I know the Xcelorin ESC, and it would handle this without frying, but it would get very hot. Better get an ESC that can handle about 10 Amps. The Xcelorin can only handle 4A! I hope this helps you!
i like power so i used the turnigy trackstar 18amp speed controller but it is a bit to much power for this motor i do not recomend doing that to your car unless you get a bigger motor
I want to use this one to my XMOD Gen 1 ,but I am worry about from where I can get a suitable pinion for it?Any Sugestions colleagues? Also I believe a 10A ESC will do the job,I don't need a reverse. *-)
not 100 sure but i beleve these are the right width and thread. product number 831405 be careful with the lenth if they touch the coil youu could damage them.
You need to use M1.4 screws, length is dependant on application. An example of a suitable screw is item 11793, as a previous reply stated, be careful that the screws do not touch the coils inside the motor* if the screws are too long either cut or file them down to an appropriate length.
for all of you that are desperate to get one: you can buy the "Turnigy 1220 Mini gearbox system 10300kv"

its the same motor!! just take off the gear, very simple. i got mine last week!! there are 234 in stock as of 4th of sept.2010
"Backorder now to avoid delays". yeah right.. this one has been out of stock for 3months now, will it ever be available again? i need 4 of them badly!!!
I installed it into a modded EDF30 unit so I could mount this motor into it.
I got 65g of thrust on ~4A current draw using a HC litestorm 350mah 2S lipo. The motor was barely warm. A smaller 2S lipo of 300mah (old lipo) gave 55g of thrust at ~3.5A. The shaft being 1.5mm meant I had to drill out the impeller to fit. It doesn't come with connectors or mounting screws but the GWS brushed motor screws fit perfectly.

9 thumbs up!
I've posted on rcgroups the results I got for this inrunner along with some images of it in the EDF30 www.link runs very quietly and is well balanced. I did oil both bearings as a matter of course as I always do that to my new motors.
Weight of the motor delivered is 7.9g
It comes in a tough little box - the same as the 5g motors come in.

1 thumbs up!
Installed it on my Mpx Fox as a pusher with a tiny gws prop. Flies fast with great sound.
Great motor for Losi Micro-HR. I run it on 2S LiPo (240 mAh)and 12A Plush (the 10A Plush fits better). Motor mount needs modifications on Losi Micro-T/DT/HL for this motor to fit.
