Turnigy 2 in 1 Professional Program Box for Brushless ESC
Turnigy 2 in 1 Professional Program Box for Brushless ESC This Advanced Program Box is used to set the programmable parameters of brushlessESC, it has a 16*2 characters LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) to get a friendly user interface, so you can set the programmable parameters very easily. It is pocket-sized, so you can bring it to the racing or flying field conveniently.
This program card is suitable for the following ESCs: EZRUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0) K-Force Series Helicopter/Aircraft ESC
Features:
Working as an individual device to set the ESC, the value of each parameter is displayed on it's own LCD screen
Working as an USB adapter to link the ESC with a PC, and the user can update the firmware of the ESC or set the ESC by the special application software on PC.The software includes the speed calculator to measure the speed. The speed calculator only works with K-Force series.
Specifications:
Size: 90mm (L) * 51mm (W) * 17mm (H) Weight: 84g Input Voltage: 4.8-6V (If the ESC hasn’t a built-in BEC, you must use an additional battery pack to supply the program box)
tried updating the firmware on this box with hobbywing firmware , it doesnt work , the firmware in the box is the latest hobbywing firmware , i can confirm that it works with hobby wing v1.1 esc and 2.1 esc as well as the hobbyking x car 60a and 120a esc's and also allows adjustment of turbo and boost functions without the need for a pc ,
for everyones information. If all you want to do is program your ESC by computer or update the firmware then you can use the USB adaptor which is on the site. It will connect to the hobbywing based ESC's.
This LCD programmer is only needed if you want to change the settings in the field without a computer.
once updated with HW v3.2 firmware you can use this box to adjust boost and turbo parameters at the track which may be of use if you race and dont want to to take your laptop with you.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with problems. Toby I'm having the same problem. I've tried it with and without the bec plugged in. If bec is plugged in I can't save to my esc but if bec isn't it says connecting... Where do I download the update for the card? Does anyone know cause I think that's why it won't work at least I hope or something easier would be even better. I'm pretty knowledgable about these electronics but I'm baffled. I can program the esc manually so I know that's not the problem. Any help would be much appreciated
I connect this to my Trackstar 120A SCT ESC, and it only says "Connecting ESC" and that is is it. it does not change, nothing else appears on the display. What am I missing, what should I do, and does it come with the latest version of the Firmware?
Second paragraph ... "EZRUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0) K-Force Series Helicopter/Aircraft ESC"
And that is it for this one. You need: -
PRODUCT ID: HKProg-card
i have found this ESC : Phoenix Ice2 HV controller, in the document : Phoenix User Guide (for all Phoenix ESC models), it says that i the page, that i am able to limit the current, but it is not saying the exact values at which is made the limit, and it also says that it will shut down the ESC, but i dont want that.
****************************************
and regarding Tekin car ESC, i have found the following model: TT1153 RS Pro BL Sensored ESC, it says in its specifications : Current Limit: None 12 steps, but i dont understant what that means, why there is a none and what means 12 steps?
None means no limit, steps mean...not a fixed value but...well...steps. Again, to be safe, measuring and testing will be required. You will NOT find any device which will really limit at exactly 40A and keep it constantly providing 40A. It will always be some kind of shutdown-release-shutdown-release etc. What you're searching for is simply non-existant.
sharkey9, ...no, i need to use the max power in order to carry as much cargo as possible, so i really need a device to limit the current and possibly(or eventually) power or voltage. do u know some of such devices?
No, sorry. No device that will prevent you from getting penalty points. Using a K-Force 40 might help, it will cut down power on exceeding 40A permanently, but will still allow for higher peaks. I think that's one of the challenges...
This is the motor you are required to use Axi Gold 2826/10.
I have seen something written about 'Phase Current control circuit' on one of the RC forums, but am unsure if it would be of help. Have a search on google for it.
You also can play with the motor timing settings of the ESC (not PWM frequency). Lower timing, less power. But you MUST try and measure. Also, the motor load feature is no more accessible in the current firmware of the K-Force ESCs.
i am going to buy this battery: Turnigy nano-tech 2650mah 3S 35~70C Lipo Pack, this ESC:TURNIGY K-Force 70A-HV OPTO V2 Brushless ESC.
i have seen that with this programming box, i can control the PWM frequency and Motor load, so using this properties, i am not able to somehow limit the current to 40A?
or are there on the market some devices which i could use to limit the current? i have found this device: Eagle Tree Elogger, but it just logs the current .
Actually there are ESCs on the market with current limiting abilities. Expensive and hard to find. Can you tell us what application you're planning to use these with?
i am going to buy this esc: TURNIGY K-Force 70A-HV OPTO V2 Brushless ESC, and with this programming board how do i limit the ESC to just consume 40A * 11,1V= 444W ? or is it programable at this power limit?
well, i am going to buy this battery: Polyquest XF 2200mAh 3S 45C - 90C Lipoly
yes, it provides at most 11,1 V and also it will deliver to the load what it requests, but i need to make sure that when the load requests more than 40A, the ESC will not deliver to it more than 40A.
No - if the system tries to draw more than 40A the battery will puff. Gigi you are not understanding how electric powered systems are working. Do a Google search for 'electric model airplane basics' and see how the systems work together.
i have read the Programmable items (Aircraft & Helicopter ESC) section of this item and i would clarify some things:
1)
Low voltage protection mode
Low voltage protection threshold
what is the purpose of this low voltage protections? if i dont need the propellers to work, i just turn off the power.
so which is the purpose of this programming modes?
2)Governor mode
isnt the ESC already doing this, that is to do all the job the the governor could do?
3) Motor load
what is the purpose of this programmable item? what i can do with it?
4) after i program the ESC, is this programming board needing to remain conected to the ESC while it is working ,
such that settings that i have programmed are not vanishing?
5)where i could find a document that describes in more details this device and its characteristics?
in the files sections are some documents, but they are not very detailed.
1. Low Voltage Protection. Very important when using LiPo batteries do you do not go below 3V as an absolute minimum per cell. The ESC can be set to prevent this.
2. Governor mode is to keep heli head speeds constant as an example. If governor is not set, head speed can decay if the ESC does not provide adequate power to prevent it.
3. Motor Load. Different settings for the power a given motor can be required to produce.
4. No. Disconnect it when in your model. Settings are saved to the ESC.
5. Have a read on the internet about ESC's and how they work and electric model power systems in general. These are all basic questions that a bit of research will pay dividends.
Is this program box compatible to the Hobbyking X-Car 60A Brushless Car ESC Produkt ID: 9351000014 ?
Because the X-Car 60A looks like Hobbywing Xerun ESC. Has someone tried it ?
Perfect addition to the K-Force line of ESCs... This program box takes the guesswork out of setting up the ESC all the options are spelled out in clearly worded prompts. Much, *much* easier than programming with the TX.
And more importantly, it allows you to set the the LVC voltage to a custom value I've now set my K-Force 40A ESC in my Blade 400 to do a soft-cutoff at 10.5V 3.5V per cell. I expect this to be much nicer on the lipos.
Being able to upgrade the firmware on the ESC is nice as well, although not yet needed.
It'd be nice if it was cheaper, but not important enough to drop a star.
perfetto e ottimo e appena arrivato e sto iniziando a provarlo, per me e il massimo non stare con lorecchio teso ad ascoltare le musichette, cercando di interpretare i suoni lunghi dai corti,
I really like this device. Works well with K-Force ESC's. I am going to test it with Turnigy car ESC too, when the last one arrives. It doesn't talk to Plush and EZ-RUN series though.

3 thumbs up!
Recieved programmer today, installed HW software. Connected (K-force) speedcontroller to programmer ,connected battery ran software and connected USB-cable. Worked perfect, the software let you see what programming is done (did it with tx before) and there can be no mistake. I even let the motor connected to the speedcontroller which emitted a no signal tone but this stopped when the return/mode button was pressed.

2 thumbs up!
I have this one too and I'm kinda dissapointed, it is not working with Sentilon series too:(( I expected for this price to be working with all Turnigy ESCs, seems I've been mistaken.
