A 2600mah 4s lipo will fit in the stock 18v battery case. Less than half the weight and extra runtime too. A 18v nicd battery (stock dewalt batery) will drop to maybe 14-15v under load, a 5s lipo has a max voltage of 21v and will drop to 18-19v under load, so a 4s loaded voltage is ideal(14-15v).
Can this battery be used to drive a motor with following specifications- no load current-4A, Max. current-40A, Voltage-14.8 V? I would also like to know that what problems may arise if we are driving a motor[with small input voltage] by a battery having large voltage?
If you run at high throttle settings - you are likely to overheat the motor .. common then to have magnets move as the glue melts ! The motor then fries ....... but if you keep throttle down and only short bursts of full - then it will probably survive. Only use will tell ..
I plan to get a set up where the maximum draw will be 60 amps and was wondering if this is a suitable battery. 20 C times 3Ah gives 60 amps and I know there should be some marginal which should be covered by the burst value of 30 C for this pack. Any opinions?
Christian, I do not think you can draw 60 amps constantly from this batery pack. I'm using this pack with my Hyperion Helios F3A 63 www.link and it peaks at 66 amps. However, after 5 minutes sequence flight (no maximum throttle at all) I land with hot and bulged battery. I would recommend 30C discharge rating for 60 A setup.

Purchased 2 of these to run in an electric car, 1/8 scale Kyosho Landmax. Neu 1415/1Y motor, 2 of these batteries in parallel, 14 tooth pinion on 51 spur. V2 logger gave me the following after approx 4 minutes run time at Moorebank Raceway: Max amps 82.61, Max motor temp 36c & over 1500 watts. Look at the motor temp, it is nothing & both batteries were cool to touch. First runs, but very impressed for the price. I reckon I can go to duel 3000mah 6s lipo in parallel for over 100amp and 2500w of power. Landmax setup with x2 5s lipo, logger etc weighed 3.75kg, good to drive with 14 pinion, blistering fast and very drivable. Thanks HOBBYCITY:)

Muito boa bateria para a E-Revo. Cabem certinho no compartimento de baterias da E-Revo. Uso duas em paralelo e tem um bom punch e runtime.

I bought two of these from Hobby City and they are great. The cells in both packs were 3.85 across the board when I recieved the packs.
