I use this motor on the Yak-55 66 cm,85 g. Propeller GWS7035. 300 mAh battery 17 g. Flight time 5-7 minutes. Very nice, quiet motor. This red engine is much better than silver one!
Erm NO it's not. Red and black is not as good as Red 'n Blue which was barely better than the silver version. ONLY adsvantage is One of these red/blacks come with a prop adaptor as well as the prop saver. But it costs $2 more than the silver one :-)
Yes, 4x2.5 Counter rotating propellers will fit, I use the same for my motors, and the prop saver they include fits perfectly. The 4x2.5 props here fit for www.link
Without doubt. Using that exact setup I have had a 135 gram acrobatic plane go straight up as far as I cared to go. With a Plush 6A ESC the throttle response is crisp and linear. Try it, you'll like it!
Drunya THANKS to you HK has added a PICTURE showing the PROP SAVER (Well it is really a shaft saver). Good work. See this is why the simple question are asked, to help everyone. Great!!!
mount the collar with the set screws on the shaft and push the prop onto the collar, perpendicular to the set screws/alan bolts...take a needle nose pliers and wrap the o-ring over the prop from one bolt to the other Here in a video link to make it easy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo1fKpdTZ80
the table said that 1811-2000 can move a 7-3.5 prop or 6-3 , why my motor can move only 5-3 i runining 720 mh bat 2cell and castle ceations speed control 9 amp
where can I get dimensions for the mount? guess it doesn't matter since I already bought it... ha ha. I'll post them when I receive the motor, but if I can get them sooner I have a plane on the bench I'd like to drop it straight on to
on mpx fox is the best option with turnigi plus 6a speedcontroller

9 thumbs up!
I am very pleased with this engine. The kit also includes connectors. On battery "Rhino 360mAh 2S 7.4v 20C Lipoly" and screw "GWS EP Propeller (DD-5043 125x110mm)" gives the traction motor to 145 grams, but it quickly falls to 130 grams. Also, it is important to note that the screws in the hole is small, only 4 mm, so I had to make a hole at 5mm. Now all is well.
Very good and strong engine, ideal for smaller planes(120gr Multiplex Fox). Best with GWS 5030 or 5043, strange working with bigger propellers. Delivered with gold banana connectors, prop saver is very good price for the value.
Out of the box it was seized. Had to take the bell off and scrape off all the magnet plating that had shredded. Remove the magnet debris and dust with masking tape. When the crap is cleaned out, I sealed the magnet surfaces with a light coating of nail polish and the motor spins and works just fine. A few magnets where a little to high so it scraped on the stator. The bell may be slightly be off center in my case.
4 stars for the motor 0 stars for quality control.
This motor is dimensionally almost exactly the same as the chrome 18-11 2000kv motor that is a few bucks cheaper but comes with fewer accessories. The Turnigy 1811 has 3screw mount on 15.5mm circle, the chrome 18-11 version has a 4screw mount on 15.5mm circle.
