Does anybody know if it would be possible to convert a nine eagles solo pro 228 FB copter to full brushless.I would think the ADH300XL outrunner would do the trick!!!!!And maybe the 1811 for the tail!
Harry Stuart  1 points - 4/27/2013

How would that motor work on a nine eagles solo pro228 with a shaft driven tail rotor? That is after you remove all the factory stuff! It is my understanding that shaft driven or direct motor drive, that tail walk is a big problem.
Danos  16 points - 4/8/2013

Is this more powerful than the 2900kv version also what flying weight is ideal for this motor?
 Danos 16 points
aNyone know how much thrust? thx
tigerduck  1 points - 2/13/2013

Would recommend more the Turnigy 1811-2900kV with 5x3 props. That`s what I use, but I don`t know the 3800kV ones.
 Wazza_99 864 points
They work fine. Thats what I use with my Bonsai.
 davereap 4 points
a 5x3 gws prop on 2 cells draws a fraction under 6A...so it just keeps inside its specification max current..and should be ok with a 6A esc... and its thrust is good, lots of vertical for a 110gm AUW model...
Cedric  1 points - 1/17/2013

Could I use this motor on a micro quad with 3 inch motors?
trevor  6 points - 12/17/2012

can i use this on the mini stick ?
Ray  7 points - 11/27/2012

Will this motor suit the Bonzai, if so what prop would you recomend (Poduct code)and how big a lipo could it handle?
 rey 23 points
i have one of this on a bonsai, prop is 4.1x4.1 apc and lipo 850ma.hope this helps n happy flying!!!
Wazza_99  864 points - 4/27/2012

Anyone know how to take off that prop saver? I put it on and now want to use the other prop adapter, but it doesn't want to come off the shaft. Seems stuck even with the two black screws off. Kinda weird.
 Wazza_99 864 points
Fixed, seemed stuck but some WD40 set it free.
 Kellyann 16223 points
Wazza_99 well done. I was going to recommend you try drifting out the shaft from the motor and saver. But what you did is great (a but messy) much gentler. Well done.

Right now i am going to put this motor to my mini swift glider, but during the test the motor is off every time when more then 50% of throttle. More than one minute on 50% of throttle and the motor and ESC is pretty warm. My ESC Turnigy plush 10A and 4,1x4,1 prop. Do you have any idea what is going on?
 Melchi 30 points
I have set the same on the same plane but with a 4.5 X 4.5 prop and a 10A plush also. In 3S the motor is warm at the end but works very well. I think that you perhaps set too much trottle. I would reduce it to the limit before it stops itself. As soon as the noise is strange it means that there is to much trottle
 Hytrus 5 points
The point is that on 2s motor barely start and on 55-60% of throttle stop. On 3s does not start. I have tried two times in the air and the plane was slow. In my case you have to forget about vertical climb. 60% angle was imposibble. I do not know what to do. Right now motor is back into the box. I am waiting for your help !!
 Melchi 30 points
Surly I cannot climb vertically even in 3S. But at 80% I think. I don't know why it stops à* 60% trottle, I think you perhaps have a problem with the Esc no? It's my second motor on this plane and I never have problem with them (replaced the first one because of a crash on a solid surface...) My esc is also a 10amp but... try a 20amp perhaps
jason  6 points - 1/24/2012

I am using this with a gws 4025 and a 6a speed controller, and 2s 180mah bat. Will this burn up my esc? how many amps will i get with this setup?
 rc speed 277 points
Try this esc is good for your motor! Test The motor furst whit no propeler! If your esc dont warm try whit propeler...I use 8A esc...Your esc will be good!
 benoit 1 points
tres bon moteur que j'utilise sur mini aile volante avec du 2s 500mah.
 Robachan 1089 points
With that prop and battery, you might just get away with it if your esc is a good one like a plush. Just don't go full throttle for long and you should be fine.
 davereap 4 points
static tested with a 5x3 gws and a 300 2s lipo... the current draw is a fraction under 6A on my meter..so it stays within its 7A max and should be ok on a 6A constant rated esc..
sky3727  81 points - 1/3/2012

Hi guys, can this motor push a 170gram AUW plane? if i use 2S 500mah lipo, so what prop size do i have to use to make it fly?
 Melchi 30 points
yes for sure use a 4x4.5 or 4.5x4.5

HI!, will this little motor handle a 11.1v - 14.8v with ESC and a 6x4 or 5.5x4.5 prob ??
 __sebi 7 points
No, the motor can handle only 7.4v and 6*3 or 4.5*4 prob
 Derek 6 points
really :( i use it with the " 18-11 2000kv Micro Brushless " from the bixler model glider thought it may work haha. Ty
 Melchi 30 points
You can use it with a 3s battery and a 10A esc with no problem. i m using it like that with a 610ma 3S on the mini swift
 Derek 6 points
i have 3-4s batts both.. 30A ESC so trying to find a FASTT motor that can support maxx 7x5 prop on 11.1v-14.8 :(
 g2222 37 points
you want a bigger motor. i dont think you realize how small this one is. Look for a 20-25gr motor if you wanna stay light * 30A / relatively big prop.
some87  7 points - 11/30/2011

can anybody tell me how far apart the holes are on the motor mount?
 Kyrill 15 points
11mm between centers of 2 nearest holes , 15.4mm diagonal/

what trust give this motor?
 Melchi 30 points
Very reliable. mine has one complete season and works very well.
 rc speed 277 points
what propeler works very good. Not warm motor..
 wade2 17 points
It is a great motor, I run it on a three cell and a 3x4 apc prop (cut down) and it draws 6 amps and has tons of speed.

this motor runs on 11.1v batery or no?
 Melchi 30 points
Yes very well. I'm using it on the mini swift with a 610ma 3cells or 360 ma 3cells and a 10A Esc.

It will run extrmely well on a 11.1 volt battery and a 3 inch prop. it doesn't get hot and it get a lot of rpm's.

i get this motor but i have Turnigy 30A BRUSHED ESC. i need to use motor for one plane 200-300 grams tell me how to connect motor
 rc speed 277 points
Help me please
 Melchi 30 points
Like for every electic motor, you have to connect the 3 wires of the Esc to the 3 wires of the motor (check the rotation before souding). Then you connect the esc to your receptor. ask a friend if not sure
 Omnik 4406 points
You cant use BRUSHED esc with BRUSHLESS motor. It's like using coal to run petrol engine. Absolutly different.
 Melchi 30 points
Nothing else to do?
 rc speed 277 points
What is the trust of this motor i need to use for 300g plane...What propeler can i use?
 Melchi 30 points
I've been using it on the miniswift for 1 season. I'm using it with the default propeller but also tried it with TGS Sport 4.5x4.5E Precision propeller. I don't know the weight but with the battery (610ma 3S) I must be around your 300g. very good motor, powerfull.

how to connect a brushlees the tail of honeybee fp?
Electric diagram?
 __bare 712 points
look in Heli forums. Bigger problem is that a Direct drive outrunner is not a very good tail rotor motor. It does not respond fast enough for the purpose in a heli.

Powerful Motors for Lama BL conversion. One made some noise until I changed the bearing. Beware of the thin wires, do not bend to often.
