Does these horns suitable for my Sbach 342 (Black) EPO 1400mm (PNF) ? ..my broken horns had 4 holes for the screws, these one only have two as I can see... any suggestions? the photo of the part missing of my Sbach 342 can be seen here: http://support.hobbyking.com/attachments/token/ct2m

they have 3 holes, they will fit but i reccomnd using 5min epoxy, i did that on mine, works great
 Milan 14 points
they have 3 holes but you cannot fit them with epoy. But you can make a third hole in your model.
Raymond  7 points - 1/23/2013

What push/pull rods can I use with these control horns?
 NewToHobbyKing 6401 points
Raymond I do find a push bike spoke is a good fit. If you use a clevis, then most of them have a bit of movement, due to the ball lock. Tare!
regan  14 points - 12/30/2012

will these fit with a J3 cub?
 Mr Krinkle 622 points
If you're talking about the micro J3 cub you have, the answer would be no, they are too big. Look at the "micro" control horns, size A perhaps would be the best thing HobbyKing has.

Hey. I am Ben. I build homemade planes. (Brooklynaerodrome****) Are these horns easy to install on 1/4 inch foam surfaces? Thanks so much! Ben
 Crawdad 177 points
Sure thing, Ben. You'll find these very easy to install on 1/4 inch foam. I always attach them, and use a bit of foam safe CA as well.
joseph  3 points - 12/16/2012

can i use these for my epp foam 32in yak 54
 Arxangel 909 points
Yes, they are strong enough. Make sure you mount them both with bolts and glue just to be sure.
Maher  21 points - 12/7/2012

i really cant find the right screws/nuts for this at hobbyking. can anyone give me the right link
 Arxangel 909 points
I got some M2 bolts from my local hardware store and they work great on this.
 Maher 21 points
Which means i have to go out there by my own and buy them :'(
OK
 0Mica0 62 points
I use 2.5 mm self-tapping screws on this horns. (Look for "OR017-202")
 cpstrommen 18 points
I just use high temp hot glue and it works perfectly
theSelf  45 points - 3/24/2012

Can these be epoxied into place if you don't have screws? There seems to be a difference of opinion here regarding the screw size diameter- are the screws best to have 2mm or 2.5mm? Thank you
 cawaorladiesman 3 points
Yes, these can be epoxied in place. Ill check for the screw size diameter tommorow Best regards
 mark7 173 points
I use them with epoxy only, everything is still in place so far. Mounting (screw) hole diameter is 2.1mm, so you can use a 2mm screw without any problem.

They are nylon, so epoxy can let go if you don't sand the gluing surface with 60-80 grit. Or better yet Med CA works better and is lighter, test it if you want. Won't hurt EPO foam. Holds better than foam CA on EPO. Still need foam CA on EPS (polystyrene).
 beedude 48 points
Depends on surface size and force applyed to it you may end up with a layer of foam or balsa glued to your control horn and loss a plane , if glued to a large elevater in a screaming dive then pull up hard eg pull out of a loop may rip off, id use bolts on ,if larger size planes, plus i place 1 screw to chech travel and elinement then the second screw
 MikeHammond 21 points
It depends in what model are you using it. If you are using it on a plane with big wing surfaces it might snap off. Use epoxy atleast. Use 2mm screw add a small amount of glue.
 cpstrommen 18 points
I use high temp hot glue, but make sure you are using the right plane. If you use one with the wrong foam the hot glue might ruin the foam.
 canisterBoom 17 points
my favorite glue is gorilla glue.. use a srynge to apply water drop on them and they will stick like hard plastic... dnt get it on your finger tho.. it will take days to take off ... i also found that eating sunflower seed will help taking glue off your finger.. i guess saliva and sodium is the secret =)

what is the size of secrews who fitted inside?
 CHAMBO88 89 points
2.5mm diameter self tapping screws are perfect for these, i use them on all my control surfaces.
 munsaf 291 points
2.5mm diameter self tapping screws are perfect for these, an i am also use these types of screws !
 BuLLsNaKe 1309 points
you can use glue with it without problem also you can screw
Mar11  2005 points - 10/6/2011

so the screws are the metal ones or special plastic ones ?
 pipercub 65 points
this product comes with no screw, you use whatever screws yo have/ work, or glue.
 DennisT1 162 points
Metal #2 works good. Comes without screws. Plastic would not likely be strong enough to cut threads into the backer. Glue might work on small foamies and such, though I wouldn't trust it myself.
 Krause 4 points
None screw provided.
 Jonathan 87 points
metal works, but I use epoxy and works very well.
I use this metal screws: Self-Tapping Screws 2x10 (bag of 100pc) - PRODUCT ID: OR017-201x10. It's a very good choice
 Pi90show 7 points
screws are not included in the package, I personally, on my slow flyer plane, I simply glue them (with a glue epox) but you can still secure them with screws to your plane.
 KOSTANTINOS 3 points
I think the 2x8 (screws bag of 100 pc) is nice for those control horns!
 S. A. 85 points
you do not need screws. just put it in place where to want to fix it and drop a CA drop in the screw hole. it will never move from its place. (give credit to my answer)
Narendra  7 points - 3/9/2011

I have bought these. What is that extra piece for. how is this installed. can we install without the extra piece on foamies?
 helimark 29 points
the extra piece is an backplate, if you want to screw it on an wooden surface, you want to go trough the whole surfaces and put the backplate at the other side of the surface. when using with foamies it is better to search for an strong area on the surface, or create one (a piece of plywood or somthing) and glue that between the horn and the surface. but if secure propably, you can use this without the backplate. gr. mark

Just glue it had been that great.
 darlofranco 10 points
It goes on the other side of the control surface, you can install it with small self tapping screws.
 Narendra 7 points
Thankyou all for the replies. Your info was very much helpfull.
 Stuff 12 points
I glued em with foam safe CA, no problems.
 bibiricat 29 points
yes, you can.
The extra piece is for using screws to mount the Control horn, but you can also hot glue (or epoxy) the control horn onto the wing.
 MKazan 31 points
If you are going to use bolts to instal it on your foamie, the extra piece goes at the other side of the foam so the bolt can fix it´s tip on it.
 BaddaBing 16 points
Some control horns only have one piece which you glue onto the foam. Others have the extra piece that you can put on the other side of the foam (the foam is sandwiched between the two pieces) and you use screws to hold it in place. Screws are not included with this, buy separately depending on thickness of foam. Easier to go to your local hardware store and buy a few screws after you get the horns. You can still glue these in if you want rather than use the other piece.
 midrian 28 points
The extra piece is supposed to go at the other side of the horn with 3 screws going through the control horn, through the control surface and then connecting to the extra piece. Hope this makes sense :)
 Monish 10 points
HI , You have to break it into 2. One goes on one end of the push rod and the other on the other side . You might need fastener to connect to the push rod.
 UndCon 17 points
The extra piece is intended to be mounted on the other side of your rudder-surface and screws goes from the horn into the small piece.
 gas wolf 51 points
the extra piece is the "counter flange". It has to be installed in the opposit surface of mobile part and is used as reinforcement for the screws.
 Luciana 3 points
not good do this... install with two parts
 jed2i 10 points
i always screw the extra piece, it is safer that way
 Georg 13 points
You can glue it in with superglue or foam glue dpending on what material is the base.
 Shura 122 points
yes, you can. you can use also glue or epoxy
 anselmo 75 points
There can not be installed without the other part it is the screw thread on one side you put horn and the other side of the wing, rudder, elevator, you put the extra piece to run with the fixing screws

 cpstrommen 18 points
The easy way to install them on foamies is by using hot glue.
