In the description it says this is not good for FPV. Why not??
 HobbyKingAddict 11 points
Because of its low range of 300m to possibly 500m on stock antenna. Some people have reportedly modified the antenna and have gotten over 1.5k of range.

Would this work with this transmitter? I know you have to solder it in. would it also help with the distance www.link by your profile name I guess you order a ton from HK. Do you know what import fees and shipping would be on the transmitter booster? I know things vary a bit, maybe an example if you have one. Thanks!

Hi Can anyone tell me the range of this please? Paul
 HobbyKingAddict 11 points
300m is what has been confirmed. However people have reported 500m. If you modify the antenna you could possibly get 1.5k or so i have heard.

Hi There, Would this radio be okay for an entry level airplane that only requires 4 channels? Also what servo's would you recommend for it?? Cheers
 HobbyShun 185 points
This one is basic. It will be ok if you don't plan to go further than one entry level plane. If you do, you might like to look at, say Turnigy 9x. It has setup options and cn be upgraded if needed. Sevo choice will depend on the plane size and material.

How does the trainer system work? If I get 2 of these radios and a buddybox cable, can I set one to be the master and the other as trainer?

hi, what is the real range of this radio.and can i use lipo on transmitter or AA
 WillF 2 points
500 meters
 WillF 2 points
I have gotten 1km, crashed due to brown out. This was done in the countryside.
 NewToHobbyKing 16056 points
Farhan I have proven 300m but other have reported more. It takes 8 (side by side ) AA's but there is a lipo that is made to fit. The " Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack (SKU: T1450-TX-3)". You do need to change the lead!

1. Batteries in transmitter, switch off.
2. Connect one side of the bind plug to the BAT slot on the receiver.
3. Connect an ESC (with battery attached) to one of the channels. Black line (-) goes to the far right. You will see a red LED blinking.
4. Push and hold down the bind button on the transmitter while switching on. Keep the bind button held down until the red LED stops blinking. You are now ready to enjoy your wonderful new 2.4GHz TX.

After a range test the club members were impressed by its performance. Hand signals to confirm its function were hardly seen on the end of the test so we stopped it. No servo-vibrations were noticed during this test so the signal stayed clear overall. The 3 test flights afterwards only confirmed the first experiment. Five stars for doing its job but what a pity no instructions are available.
Very pleased with this purchase.

Awesome price! I love this radio and I also got 2 extra receivers. I am flying indoor and the receiver case can be easily removed to save weight. I also have another 6ch USB computer radio that binds to these recievers and workd with all 6 channels. Hobby City needs 6ch mixing version.
