Pity that HK doesn't put these together properly. I bought one of these and the motor leapt out of the mount at about half power... the little grubscrews attaching the motor to the mount weren't tight enough so the motor is a write off. So if you buy one of these (or any like it) make sure you have the tiny hex key to finish the assembly process and check the security of the grub screws.
Hi,
I just crashed this motor nose first on my multiplex fox. Now the motor is spinning slowly with a stutter. The ESCs and other electronics are fine as I checked them with another 2211 motor. What could be causing this stutter spin. Any ideas. I have not opened the motor to examine the internals yet.
Sorry Rajarajan, a smash up like that can cause an internal short from one of the 3 wires comming from the ESC. Or you may have bent the shaft. I'd call it **** and just buy another one. Have Fun :)
This works Greta with mini swift folderprop on 3cell. I use it on a small and light foamglider graupner mini discus. I use an 12 A ESC, 250 mah bat. Great.
Yes I would. Its a bit heavier than the fox or art tech diamond600. But there is more room to build inside discus.
I actually build me nr2 of graupner. Just to get cg right.
Will the 5030 Three-blade props work with these motors running on 2S 1000mAH 30-40C and Turnigy plush 10A esc on a micro quad? What is the max current drawn and flight time?
I have got two of these motors and both are bad , I run a 6 3 prop and 3 cell got one flight per motor these motor are not rated for what they say they are...
what size hex key needed for the motormount, these screws come loose every time. normal 1,5 mm key does not fit. Same for the other srews, and has HK these keys in there assortment.
The grub screws above the bell requires a 0,89 mm hex key while the bottom ones (gripping the motor casing) is 1,27 mm to be exact. I had a painful and expensive experience to get the right sizes of hex keys for the grub screws. The hex keys had to be specially ordered from my local hardware store. I just help u save on buying the right size hex keys. Haha. CREDITS!!! Lol
I tried using with a castle thunderbird 9amp ESC, the esc got a little warm as I applied limited throttle on a "first" bench test maybe 8 min run-time on 2s 450. Very inexperienced and I cannot find consistent amp max in reviews, etc. Is my ESC too small?
I've got a scratch built EPP (about 200gr including battery). I use a 10 Amps Turnigy Plush ECS on a 3s 1000 MaH LiPo 20c, and this motor just screams!!! 80°* climbouts with no problem (consider it' s a pusher, with motor mount at 15°* consequently loosing thrust)!!!
Just remember to adjust your throttle on your TX by connecting the battery on full throttle.. then put it back so it calibrates.
Hope it helps
got one coming to replace the motor on my swampdawg fanboat, (stock motor is also 2300kv) what ESC's are people using this motor on, i've got a hobbyking 20a esc in my boat, running on 3s, i'm hoping I can keep using it.
Is this Motor good for 3D Piaget ?
The stock motor is burned and now i need replacement but i don`t know which Motor can i use.
I fly with 2S 800m/Ah 20C and a GWS 9050
Used tthis motor for Mini J3 Cub. But... one little crash, shaft was bended & motor jitter when I try to start it up. ESC- 12A Mystery Now i am waiting for other motor. Shaft is pressed very hard in to bell, so you will need some tools to do that.
Hello, i want to make a shocky with a weight about 150 to 200g. I have already this motor and e.g. I take a 8x6 prop. Have this motor enough power to fly 3D with my plane?
I assume you are running with 1S or 2S as a 8x6 on 3S will overload the motor. I use a 4.1x4.1 on 3S in an EPO Parkflier and the power is great, but it obviously weighs lots more. It's so cheap, buy it and try it. Just make sure you have a small allen key (50 thou)to tighten the mount. I lost one during the first flight and just retained the motor before landing.
I got this motor with the EPO ParkJet.
But the prop doesn't mount stably.
I need help finding adapter and prop combo that will fit nicely.
The stock prop is 5x5.
I found the plane too fast, so I bought an APC 4.7x4.2, but the prop also doesn't mount on stably.
May I know what I need to buy please please please?
I see some users have commented on the thickness of the laminations. How did you get to measure them? I guess you had to remove the 'bell' to expose the laminations? If so, how did you remove the bell, beyond undoing the set-screws, did you have to knock the bell off? You see, I need to repair one of the leads connection to the winding. It snapped after some handling. I know the motor works .cos I tested it on arrival. Thanks anyone for your advise :>
Sure! but beware of setting too big prop. GWS 7035 for 2S is maximum. Your ESC can provide power enough to burn this motor up. Watch for the temp. of motor, better try it at home before flights.
I have some doubts about the reported kV/thrust. I get the comparable numbers with en emax cf2805, that has reportedly a much lower kV. I, know, until someone actually measures no-load rpms and thrust with different props, it is all a bit guessing. But I would expect a smaller prop for 2300kV.
Thrust rates are from the factory. Usually you can tell from the size and weight of the thing as to what sort of power you can expect. We just need to wait around for a week or two until a customer posts up their data and findings.
How about some Min / Max Amp ratings and Max Efficiency Percentage!!??
I like Turnigy motors so far, no stinkers yet in a few In/Outrunners I've bought. Certainly can't go wrong this this price either since it included both a prop saver and cone type prop adapter!!

Lams are .35mm, not .2 as advertised so I dinged it one star for not being what was advertised. Same stator as the 2211-1700 with 25 turns Delta 28awg rather than 35 turns Delta 31 awg. Better winding, better performance. Hardware weighs about one gram less but additional wire brings the weight up a little higher. Good with GWS 7035 2S or GWS 5030/4540 3S. 5043 is also possible but amp load gets well over 10. Most people will see this as an improvement over the 2211-1700.

This is a very good little motor! I use it with a 5x4 pusher prop and the maximum amp draw is 9A @ full throttle. The use of an esc with programmable timing is a must! It will NOT work with the TowerPro series esc, since they do not support timing programmability, although their specs say the opposite!!!

This thing rocketh, that's for durn sure! I tried some other mini HC motors on my Blueper and Flops-A-Lot with little success. Then I went to this motor. Wow! Power out the ears and it still runs cool. Sorry about not having numbers, but I tested it at the dome and was *very* impressed. Running a 10A Simple and GWS EP-4040 prop on 3S with 500 mAH 20C Zippy the Flops-A-Lot is ready for full combat. Yeow!

Laminations ARE .2 as description says. Motor seems to be wound well and spins a 5x4 like a mad man! I didnt use the included mount.
