A precise servo of around park-flyer size. Smaller than a standard servo yet larger than a mini. The 3688HB has a 2.8kg/cm stall torque weight and weighs only 25g. For those looking for precision servo for their small- to medium sized plane, this would be a smart choice.
The main problem seems to be is that these servos , are being used on 6 volt at high hz settings . If they are used at around 5v and set to 70 hz on the gyro , they stand a much better chance of lasting . :)
I m not really happy with this servo so for I m just lucky to save my hk 450 pro becoz servo fail even I'm testing it servo was too hot even I can not touch it so for only I get 3 flight for this $20 if I send back to hk it will cast me more then this only my mistake was that I did not read discussion ok plse any one tell me , best servo for hk 450 pro plse
I use this servo on my Black Angel about 2 years and i never had problem. Just set your gyro with the good servo specs and it will stay cold. click on the link below to see his www.link can see my 3d video with this servo with this www.link
I use this servo on trex 250 as tail servo. Everything is fine hold solid, but after more than 10 flight the servo go hey wire. I crash my heli and Im using spartan gyro. Think Im not the first one who had the same problem. Ino-lab servo perform much better.
What is the best frequency for this servo 250 Hz or 333 Hz?(using as tail servo on hk 450 gt pro with ga 250) I didn't understand it from the discussion.
my servo after 6 mins of hover its very hot you can hold finger on it
it is that normal?
i use it with ga-250 on 1520us 250 and i try on 333 but on both mode its hot
what was the air temperature in your area?mine was tested at winter...the temperature was about 15 celsius and the servo was at about 20-25(hand-touching estimated)
i use it with a GA250(spartan clone) gyro on my hk450 and i must say i am very happy with it...i have set my gyro to 1520us(same as spartan's max). The tail holds preety good and the servo is not heating or anything...Just keep in mind that this servo is not mini or micro servo it's a little big for 450-size but it fits and if you tinker a little with the mounts it weighs fairly well...
Mine got very hot and burned at 5.2volts, 1520us/333hz running on GA-250. Flight time less than one battery pack. Fortunately no damage to my little HK450pro.
I think the mfg had produced a terrible batch from reading all the uncanny complaints here. HK needs to perform better Quality Assurance.
I now use HKSCM9-6 servo at 1520/70hz and it does not even get warm**best of all it's only $2.83 each!!! I have 5 more in case he burn out. Hehehe.
Got my today and after I opened it and check the circuit board. I noticed that the same PCB and components as my CopterX's own brand "FUSONIC (HB-D-9257-V2) 25g" are used. But not the rest of things like gear and plastic cover. My old Fusonic 25g stopped after 20 flights, and it looks like many have problems with it. My PowerHD servo had much play and jitter very much. I know that Power HD3688HB is a copy of the Align servo but then HK's own yellow Align copy has the same amount of play, but are cheaper. Had to write this here for some reason my reviews disappears.
have/had two, one in hk500 stopped in mid-flight leading to crash, other in hk450pro works fine so far but will replace, just to be sure, i dont trust it.
According to the manufacturer's Datasheet, the stall torque is 3.7Kg-cm*4.8v and 4.6Kg-cm*6.0v
With some adjustments i've mounted this as tail servo for my HK450TT
At the moment it is great....we'll see in the future.
I put this in my 450 heli on the tail using the GA-250 Gyro, using the below recommended setting (1520us/333Hz)Servo took a dump after the third flight, lucky to get it on the ground in one piece. Now what will HK do for me?
Pay peanuts get monkeys. Mines worked fine for much longer than that on the same setup. Just buy another, will still work out to less than 1/4 the cost of the futaba this servo emulates. I bought 2 in the first place.
what setting do I need on my GA 250 micro gyro to use this servo? or do I just use the defualt setting? I have these choices* 1520us/333Hz* 760us/560Hz* 1520us/250Hz* 960us/333Hz* or the defualt, 1520us/70Hz Thanks for your help.
Hey, i have 2 of these on 450s,1 died after about 60 flights, just went dead while testing, will move 1 way but not other, other servo still going but now im worried, will turning ds off on my 401b help??havn,t flown since!!please help
Turning off the ds setting might help them run cooler , but I too have lost faith in these servos .. sooner or later it seems that they just fail any ways .
sweet,i had,nt noticed the servo getting hot at all,wee bit warm but just norm, until it died was really good, talk about annoyed!!any good thoughts on the tgy306
Was fü*r Servotyp-einstellungen wü*rdet Ihr empfehlen ?
Why there is Speed * 4.8V: .08sec, Speed * 6V: .07sec is shown in the description on this page but only Speed * 4.8V: .13sec, Speed * 6V: .11sec in the manual? Where is the truth?
hmm, i use this servo on all my 450 helis, as i was advised by someone at my flying field to save money, the only problem i ever had was after crashing one of them several times it would go slowly in one direction but all others are fast and very reliable, my gyro is a cheap blade400 gyro and none of my friends can tell how cheap my setup is during flight because its rock solid, perhaps you dropped, crashed,or recieved a faulty servo as all of mines are rock solid?? sorry for the crash....and i d
U can also replace the gear with Futaba gear set
Its excatly the same
Goodle it:)
It really is a decent servo of the right application .
So as always make sure u get the RIGHT servo for YOUR application for it.
never to this day in 20 years seen ever a decent budget servro with metal gears :)
Where are u looking ???
U want a decent servo on a shoestring
ur stuck with plastic ..
And just BTW this has really almost no slop this servo and as a Tail servo its mighty fast on 6 V
I cant fault it for the price aT ALL
Anybody running this servo at 6v? I put this one on over the weekend, and it dies after 1st flight, sending it back to HC, w/ $4 shipping. I happen to run into some other servo reviews someone suggested that it is NOT worth trying this type of high speed servos on 6v althrough spec says it can.
I just mounted this servo in the tail of my hk500. Like the reviews say it has slop around the centre (about 1 degree) and it buzzes away and jitters until you give it some input. Have not test flown it yet but am a bit worried.
Is this strong enough for a T-rex 500 or HK-500GT ? I have a MG930 on the tail right now for sport flying only, but I think the speed of this one might be better for it. Any comment about that ?
I'm very confident its suitable for a 500 size heli. I have one ordered for my Skya JY500 and i have one already on my Skya 450 Pro. Its the same size servo as the DS520 used on the Trex 500. You wont have any problem with this.
I see that the model name of this servo is "Model: HD-9110MG" wich seems to indicate that it is a Metal Gear servo. But it says "Gears: Resin" Is there a metal gear variant of this servo?
Robert, it's a hi-speed strong plastic gear servo aimed at the fast tail rotor servo market. It has a coreless motor! Metal gears are not good for the tail rotor as they add weight and slow down the gear inertia forces. Tailrotors can demand high torque if they do not have the chinese-weight system as per you tube demos see ***********chd.hk/ennewms.aspx?id=22
Actually the description above says:

10 thumbs up!
Great quality servo. Cable seem a bit thin though. I stripped the gears on bad landing. Cant find spare gear parts anywhere. So maybe not so good value if I have to buy new one?

i have now had the chance to fly the servo. i have got it on a HK450 PRO and A HK401B gyro it is as good as the turnigy ds480 tail servo, i would go so far to say that it is faster in the heli. very good quality, so Hk have done it again five stars

This servo is just as good as the DS520 as far as I can tell. Works beautifully on my Skya 450 Pro and is as fast as anything else I use. Great servo for the money!!
Das Servo macht aus der Verpackung heraus einen guten Eindruck: Spielfrei, schnell und rueckstellgenau! Werde das Servo im HK-T 500 als Heckservo verbauen.
