HK - PLEASE STOCK THIS MOTOR IN THE USA....IT IS TRULY AWESOME!!!!
 Thiago 1 points
it really is. I dont get how these motors are so cheap! I wish they were rebuildable..

im going to atempt to run this motor in a funjet ultra with 4cells
 jpm600 30 points
If it flies it certainly should be fun... but 260g is a lot of weight... can the funjet take it? should be especially fun!?! to get the CoG right with such a heavy motor. Make sure you make a youtube clip if you get it airbourne.

does anyone kno if the turnigy 60 amp esc is strong enough for this motor? i kno it says the motor max amps are 100 so i didnt kno if i need a 100 amp esc or that 100 amps is like when its under full throttle.
 jpm600 30 points
The reveiws for this show that it definately draws over 60amps max, but the turigy 60amp esc claims burst current upto 250 amp. So it should work, just a question of how long it will last. If you drive it hard and spend alot of time at full throttle, probably worth getting a HK 100 or 150 amp.

Can this handle 1/8 4wd buggy
 Vilzuh 43 points
Sure, just use heatsink. It made my firestorm fly like sick! Check my video on "product videos". please, give credit, if you like.

how will it work on my emaxx 3908 on 2s or 4s?
 Eirike93 11 points
PRobably a bit overkill with 4 s, but 2s should work fine! I would suggest a stronger motor (2000 KV) and 4s!
 __Aljo 25 points
Yea too much on 4s, 3s is the limit 4000 x 12.6 = 50400RPM that is high enough just watch temps and play with gearing. I run 2950KV on 4s www.link and my new setup will run 4s/5s/6s on a CC MM 2200KV motor and be beastly.

does anyone know if this engine can handle 4s lipo??
 CrashinDutchman 281 points
In the reviews is someone who mentions that he uses 4S with that motor. Voltage doesn't kill a motor (ok, virtuall spoken), amps do. Keep amps below manufacturer specs and you will be ok.
 Douglas 23 points
I have a motor and holds the equivalent 3s with 4.1 x4, 1, 4s will burn, unless the propeller 2 "step ...
 hupfi 20 points
sure it can, you just have to watch out, that the motor doesnt get to hot. If it gets to hot (about 60 C are maximum) mount a smaller prop/pinion and try again.
 retiredVTT 9 points
No No...3S is dynamite...4S is a blow up!
 groran 19 points
I see there is no spec on voltage for this motor, but most if not all can handle at least 11.1 to 14.4 which what a 4cell lipo is, hope this helps
 i4nak8 6 points
the only thing you have to look at when you are using 4 cells is the amp draw. If it is below the rated value your fine. too much amp draw will cause too much heat and can burn the windings and kill the motor.
 zeroskin76 60 points
yes but you will have to add 50 percent to amp draw
 CharlitoCZ 22 points
It can, but it's not real goot for it, the best will be 3s lipo, with some cooling.

Amps don't kill motors, watts do in the form of wasted heat. The key to pushing a motor over voltage spec (like running this on 4S) is to keep the overall WATTS under spec. If the motor is rated on 2S at 100A, then on 4S, it needs to be at 50A.....

Short answer is yes, it will handle 4S if you watch your temps.

What battery would be ideal for an EDF set up, fan size is 87mm >

Is this a 2 pole or 4 pole motor?
 rick 6 points
this is a 2 pole motor

can these motors handle 3s lipo in a brushless crt.5?
 Yago1 28 points
Yes it can. The motor is 10mm than a standard 540 motor.
 Justin 7 points
Wanna get one of these or the 07L, for my slash. ATM, my 4600kv motor no matter how i gear it just gets too hot. i think a longer can will help my heating problems. I also plan to run this on 3s lipo, so dunno whether i should go this or the 07L...
 Bryan 9 points
They can handle 3s in a hyper mini ste, so yeah. Unless you are doing speed runs though there is no point in running 3s, it's uncontrollably fast. This motor on 2s will keep up with most 3s setups at the track.

9 thumbs up!
I use this motor in a Traxxas Slash, with 22/86 gearing, and i get about 36mph, with all the torque i need. I use 4300 2cell zippy packs, and it draws about 52amps, and around 400 watts continuously. The motor also stays around 150-160 deg. F which is a decent temp. However on 3 cell lipo, this motor is insane in the slash, to much power for racing. Overall i am very happy with this motor, and plan on buying another one for back up.

6 thumbs up!
Very silent and smooth running, high torque.
Intalled it i a 1/10 truggy HI2111 Himoto/Hsp.
70 kph with 14 t pinion (drilled to 5 mm to fit)
74 amps peak 2s 4000mah 25c lipo on tar mac.
No problems doing wheelies
The EZ-run motors are weak compared to this motor.
The only disadvantage is that you need a battery that can at least give 100 amps peak.
But if you want the car to go fast there is no way around this, with any motor.
My ez run kv4400 burned (overheated)
always use heatzinks in cars or most motors will burn up

3 thumbs up!
Got two of these motors for our 12 cell NiMH monohulls and found this set-up way too hot. Now it works in my 7 cell rigger, very smooth motor, needs to be cooled well, as it will get rather hot.
One motor worked the rotor loose from the shaft, after some Loctite it spins like before.
Good motor for it's price.

Regards, Jan.

3 thumbs up!
Tried this with 3 s in the HI2111 truggy and it's horrific.
Nitrosuckers go kill yourself.
Remember to put heatzink and fan on it though, the powerdraw is a 110 amps peak, normal cars motor don't stand a chance.
This motor gives as much power as a car compention motor but only costs 1/5 of the money.
The only snag is the 5 mm axle but if you have a 5mm drill this can be solved

Nice Motor very smooth but be aware its very amp hungry if used in any 90mm EDF in my Flyfly 90mmEDF on a 3S1P 11.1v 5Amp Lipo its pulling 125amps at 3/4 throttle for 1380watts
