This is an archived page. This product is no longer available and has been replaced by a newer product. Why link it to the category: Multi-Rotors & Parts? Could use an engine like this...

 MADDOG01 14 points
On a car I don´t know.... but I used this motor in my fun jet with a 100a ESC and both burnt.... :( One thing for shure the engine is very powerfull and the burning part was my fault I pushed it too much....

hi,
im sure this motor is good in a boat but, is it a good choice since no air come in to cool it down
 Daniel 102 points
Try using cooler or a piece that is on the boat with water to cool.

I don't think this is a good choice for a boat, way too high kv. This could only be used in a very very small and light boat.
 JARRED 3 points
i have raced boats before this is not the motor you want get the same motor just the loer kv rating or get an out runner the also work well.
flashgordon1  11 points - 5/15/2011

I was wondering if these brushless motors would work on a clodbuster? I am planning on buying two brushless esc's.I was told to use a 1/8th motor
 mike 5 points
yes, just verify the dimensions of the motor to the space your mounting it in.
 flashgordon1 11 points
What do you mean?
 JARRED 3 points
these motors will work great for you i would put the 4000kv motors in it they will work real well in a clod

Phetalasy  16 points - 4/18/2011

Just bought the XL for 90mm ducted fan, burn out the "Turnigy Super Brain 80A Brushless ESC" at first s***l up. What went wrong?. I'm using 6s 4900mh battery pack.
 JARRED 3 points
try programing your speed control with a smaller battery i have done the same thing now when i program i use a small kv motor and a small batt before going full bore and it works great
Azzar  2 points - 4/2/2011

 JARRED 3 points

What do the L and XL motors afford you, in terms of performance, versus the S if they all share the same spec's. I bought one of the L models from someone, advertised as being for 1/8 scale buggies. Is this an accurate description?
__quad  8 points - 5/22/2010

does anyone know the difference between the s,l,xl i figured the s is like a 540 can size but whats the length of the l and the xl iam looking for a 550 can size motor
Kito  7 points - 10/27/2009

What size are the connectors on this motor ?

hello, need to know the maximum voltage I can use with this engine. I use this motor in a ducted fun 3.5 "with a 3s lipo in and wonders whether it is possible and what is the maximum voltage?
if anyone knows answer to this, was very grateful. thanks
 elgusanobi2008 65 points

can i put 5s lipo on 5900 motor?
Curtis  14 points -

could i safely run 11.1v at about 70 amps to this motor and not hurt it?
Christian  47 points -

What amp draw does this motor have when fed 11.1V & what would maximum voltage imput be? Would it handle 22.2V for example?
 Deryn 101 points
RPM on 22.2v would be 130,000+. I don't think it will last very long at that speed.

Volts x kv = rpm
40,000-50,000rpm would be the ideal range for power and efficiency.
60,000rpm will be more powerful but less efficient.
I wouldn't recommend going above 60,000rpm.

What ESC from the hobbicity would be recomended to run with this motor in a ECO Boat and 1/10 buggy. I would like to use 3s or 4s lipos.
 elgusanobi2008 65 points
ces 150A , menos no , este motor consume 108a y mas

Anyone tried one in an EDF? Keen to try in a midi fan on 3s. Thoughts ?

the unit i received stated KB36-50-06S which no longer appears and could it be replaced by this new KD36-50-06S and what is the different?

the spec of this motor :
Kv: 5900rpm/V
Idle Current: 6.9A
Resistance: .0034
Max Amp: 108A

can you furnish me how many turns does it has?

 Deryn 101 points
It is a 6 turn motor.
KD - manufacturer/model
36 - diameter in millimeters
50 - length in millimeters
06 - 6 turn motor
S - 'S' can motor (length determines the can size)
MUSHARINA  7 points -

i just received this powerplant and tested it with turnigy plush 80A esc and zippy 3s1p 1500mAh.

found that when running free(no blade and no drive shaft attached) within two minutes only , the motor get too hot and hardly to touch. no water jacket applied to this motor.

i have yet to test it with my new lipo zippy 3s1p 3500mAh 30c~40c due to this overheated problem.

IS THIS CONDITION IS NORMAL IN YOUR LAB TESTING OR ELSE? WHAT COULD THAT HAS HAPPENED?

please advise urgently.
 Deryn 101 points
Any brushless motor will quickly heat up if there is no load placed on the motor when it is running. If you do this too much you will most likely damage the motor (demagnetisation will start at around 200 degrees fahrenheit).

I'm looking for such 540 size 5900kv or 6700kv motor with 3,175mm shaft. Will you have such motor available?
 Grzegorz 198 points
I do not know, if this is still relevant, but I also had similar problem, I was not able to find 0.6mod 5mm pinion (for tamiya) until I found out that trex-500 heli uses exactly the pinion I need *-)

Just order this one of the ALIGN pinions (10T-17T). If you need other sizes you can get them from various companies, just google for "revco pinion".

Cheers.

How long is the shaft from the front of the case?
 Deryn 101 points
Shaft is 16mm long.
 kuntaw 2 points
XL, L & S which one if i want to use for my 1:18 rc scale with 25A brushless ESC..???
 Tagasagwan 22 points
@kuntaw- This will not fit any 1/18 scale car and a 25A esc will not be able to handle it. I would suggest using the KDA 20-30 19Turn S Brushless Inrunner 4,900kv www.link or the KB20-30-18S 5200kv Brushless Motor www.link

I had this motor in my tamiya ta05. it was perfect. very fast, and motor was cca 20° on 6nimh 4200mah. if are you searching a motor for 1:10 cars offroad or onroad this is the perfect choice... just watch that you have enough powerful battery-this motor is for big currents..

My son has used this motor in his RC Funny car for drag racing used it with a Mamba Monster speed controller with 6s and has run 1.5 sec and top speed of 165 kmh in 40 mtrs. The Mamba motors have a tendancy to snap their 3mm shafts I have done 2 Mamba motors in on 3s. I have decide to use 2 of these motors in my 2 drag cars, with the 5mm shaft no more trouble with snapped shafts. should have no problem even when using 4s.

I have used this motor for Drag racing in a 1/10 rail on with a 5000 40c Thunderpower 3s and it ran in 40 mtr 139.8 kmh and the time of 1.483 seconds my personal best time. Great motor with the 5mm shaft no worries about snapping the armature like the Mamba Max motors.
