Hey everybody, does anybody know why I have to reset the throttle range every time I plug in a new battery. Everytime I plug in the esc, I get the fast beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, ect. Indicating I need to reset the throttle range, this is strange and annoying, I have no Idea why this is happening, I would have thought once you set it it would stay set. Like every other ESC I have
Most probably because for some reason you do not really set it, just think that it is already set. If you can not hear the conformation beep when setting throttle to low the try changing the throttle range on your TX, maybe that can help. if you can hear it but despite of that the esc does not remember it than maybe your FC is not handling the escs properly.
It gives me the conformation beep, but for some reason it seems not to save. Not sure what the "FC" is though. I haven't had this problem with any other ESC's and I have several.
just means how much current your servos can draw before the BEC reached its design limits. exeeding this could lead to a burnt BEC or ESC (if the BEC is included in the ESC.
Hi Kissman. Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, that wasn't the correct answer. The "freq" that you see in the above description isn't the "REFRESH FREQUENCY" aa you thought it is. (reward me if you're learning something new)
Put this on my new Flash, moving up the throttle only causes a fast bi-bi-bi continuously. moving the stick back reset the esc and the rest works again. the motor does not move at all. Could this be 1, wrong set-up or programming 2, bad esc 3, ???
been there already, 3xsetup and reverse channel. looks like same problem as Hank has below. Now I changed the ESC with one from Turnigy = problem solved. wondering what to do with the one from Towrepro - s****ping perhaps ?
I purchased 8 of these for a couple of Quadrocopter projects but I can not get any of the controllers to work. I get the rapid beeping response indicating the throttle is not set to the minimum. The back of the ESC has a H sticker is this significant? I have reversed the throttle on the TX with no effect. Can anyone help?
I have since received this advice from HobbyKing and it works:
"The manual is not clear on programming the throttle range. The user has to turn on the TX and move the throttle stick to full. Turn on the ESC that is connected to the motor and RX then wait until beeps are finished and lower the throttle stick to fully down. The ESC now beeps and is operational."
In other words the first thing to do is to set the throttle range.
If your having problem calibrating ESC's calibrate them one at a time. Plug each one directly into the receiver with the throttle stick at full, after esc beep move stick to lower position, it is now calibrated, repeat for other ESC's. Plug all ESC's back into the multiboard and then calibrate with the board. If that doesn't work try moving pot to opposite extreme .
This esc would not be suitable for any lipo's higher than 3s. Any voltage higher than 3s will most likely cause your esc to fry. It also depends on the motor any how many amps it pulls.
Will I need any type of connectors or adapters to connect this to a turnigy 2830? I ordered some xt60 connectors to connect the esc to the battery, but I am newb and unsure about connecting the esc to the motor.
Using connectors between the esc and motor is optional, but gives the benefit of changing them easily. If you don't use connectors just solder the wires together.
I have 2 of these. 18 and 30Amp. Both have the same problem. Go quickly to full throttle and the motor screams and binds. Have set throttle range and am using a 1300 3 cell. Thanks.
I am looking for a ESC that will act as a on off switch for an electro magnic using the gear switch on the TX.it will need to work off a 3 cell 12 volt lipo, would this unit do,or are there other options available, thanks.
Voltage protection option allow to set 2.8, 2.9 or 3.0 V/cell. But LiFePo4 recommended cut-off level is 2.0 V. So I think the batteries will not give its full capacity, being overprotected by controller. But for 3S LiFePo I would try to set controller to 2LiPo(7,4V) and 3.0V/cell protection. Thus, real cut-off will be 6V, that is 2.0 V/cell.
Other manual says about another cutoff voltage levels: 2.6, 2.85, 3.1 V/cell. So with method "2LiPo-3LiFePo" you can set 1.73, 1.9 or 2.07 V/cell protection.
1. Connect the ESC to a motor and receiver. DO NOT connect a battery yet.
2. Turn on your transmitter. Move the throttle stick to the full power position (all the way up).
3. Connect the ESC to a battery. You will hear a tone and two beeps. Immediately after the two beeps, move the throttle stick to the off position.
4. Disconnect the battery from the ESC. Now the ESC is ready to use with your transmitter.
Turn on your setup with your throttle lever in the full power position. When it starts to beep move the stick to the full off posistion. It should stop beeping. Throttle curve set!
I like all kind of Towerpro`s ESC, but after looking for a week, i`ve realized that TP25A(yellow) was gone from HK. I really need it now. Can anyone tell me why is this happening?
Bonjour j'ai ce controlleur mais il n’arrte pas de faire des beep en continue et le moteur ne tourne pas
Savez quel est le problmes ?
Merci
Hello I have this controller and he does beep all the times and the motor dosen't turn
You not what is the problemes ?
Thank
I ordered 4 of these (as part of a Motor/ESC/Prop Combo), and got two different types. The slightly larger version was the newier type and is better. I need 4 of the same type for performance reasons. What are the chances of getting the newer type if I order two more?
hello I have a problem with this controller, the manual TowerPro & graysonhobbies are the same. 3s OK, but in 2s engine refuses to run I try all possible permutations between the "cell type and number SET" and "Protection against voltage" also with sounds that are not listed in the manual ... nothing
it works perfectly with my pack of 3, but nothing in 2s ...
ps: I have access to programming in 2s but the engine does not start as if in protection ...
any idea?

Did you try to go back to the default parameters?
It is the 7th menu (1 long 2 short beeps).
I am running this ESC without problems (2S Zippy 1300mA, hextronik 24g 3000kv).
Having trouble programming the timing. Everytime I go to full throttle I get the dreaded SQUEAL. Do I need to raise of lower timing if I get that squeal? Also, is timing the 3rd beep? Thanks...
im new new to rc planes im trying to learn on my own cause i dont know anyone thats into rcplanes out here ware im from. Can someone let me know what i need to change the eectronis on my minisupercub. And how do i know what size voltage do i need
1.5A 5.1V so it should be OK.
Maybe your servos have got too much of a load and they are getting hot. For example 1.6Kg/cm servo trying to move something requiring 2kg/cm.
Last week I received the N18A esc. Unfortunately it seems that have completely different programming. Isn't there a new version? I already have two of these so I definetely know how to program it, but this piece is new or faulty.
Do you have to redo the setting every time you reconnect the battery and start up the motor? Does the setting stay there once you save it until you change it? Thank you
Asinha eletrica of race functioned very well in one aguentou the engine well.

Unfortunately the manual in the box does not explain the 1 beep code concerning the cell type and number. When in program mode 1 beep means NiMh, 2 beeps = 2 LiPo cells, 3 beeps = 3 LiPo cells. A more complete manual is available at: http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/manuals.php

Very good ESC. It's a mistake in desription, it works with 2 and 3 cell lipo. You can program:
-cell type and number -brake -timming -cut off voltage

10 thumbs up!
I bought this ESC when it was rated at 18A. I have modified it a bit: removed the 2S/3S voltage selection switch, installed an old videocard heatsink on a thermal patch, and put it into a new shrinkwrap. I have flown this ESC with one of HXT motors and pushed it as far as 22A (I used an in-flight logger to record the current). The ESC was only slightly warm!
It feels that this ESC has pretty non-linera throttle response, but it doesn't matter for me as I'm using it in an EP glider, which, basically, either run at full throttle or with the motor off.
