No it is only compatible with the Assan tx. In general every brand has its own 2.4GHz system. For hitec you need to buy a hitec rx. There are some brands you can get non original brand Rx for. Spectrum and Futaba are two of them.
Should have read this first.... got this thinking I could use it with my spectrum radio.... oops!I put it on **** for $20 if anyone is interested, new and unused. It was originally bought from HK
IMHO, no range difference. The long antenna receivers allow to put the last 25 mm of the antenna (the real "sensitive" part of the antenna) out of carbon fuselages, or away from servos, cables, metal links, etc...
This is my first Rx with a long antenna. Do I have to unwrap the antenna and run it along the aircraft fueselage or will it work if I leave it wrapped the way it is?
You unrap it and each of the two parts arrange separately, e.g. each on other part of the fuselage* mind that the active part is only the non-isolated end part of the antenna. When you look from top at the receiver, the active component of the antenna is the that on your right.
The long antenna is simply a short antenna with an extension cord, and makes it possible to have the antenna outside the fuselage. Some airplanes make a "shadow" and the 2.4G will not penetrate, and reciever will glitch/lockout if antenna is inside.
I have an XR6 with the two 25cm long black antenna.installed in an EDF model, with the antenna's spread in a "V"pattern,I can only get a test range of 30 meters.please any one have any answers for me .I must be doing something wrong .I am sure there must be fail safe on the throttle as I did hand launch the model, with the motor cutting within a few meters .but I still had full control of ailerons /elevator Any thoughts guy's[help]
With about 50 hours of flawless flight time I can say the R6 has gained my respect. When will we be able to get X8 R4's?? Most of the planes I fly need only two channels for elevons.
The LP5DSM is a $pektrum tx and the rx in the 4-in-1 unit is the AR6100 from $pektrum. Thus the answer is no.

I was in modelshop in Slovakia and i want to buy 3 pieces of receivers 35 MHz. All with crystals. And i last moment i say no. And i think about Assan system because i have one from supported transmitters HITEC 6 OPTIC. So i buy transmitter and 5 receivers for beginning. After installation i was very happy because my glider didnt loose signal when is 600 meter from me. What a fantastic deal. I ordered another 4. Im beginner and setup was very easy and flying experience is wonderfull. I recommend to everybody to park flyers but also to gliders and Helis.
Really good investition.

What an incredible deal!! This receiver is (in U.S. Dollars) 25.00, the spektrum version is 49.00 and the Futaba version is 89.00 and I can't tell a difference between them other than a max of 2 grams in weight! This Assan 2.4GHz system is fantastic! Binding takes all of 10 seconds and they stay bound forever. Why you WOULD NOT go with ASSAN is beyond me unless you just need BIG name stuff. I would definitely recommend it for upgrading your module based systems. Now if ASSAN would come out with their own brand of Transmitter with it integrated like the Futaba and Specktrum it would be perfect!!

Yes this is the right receiver for me. Not so expensive like FASST and it works very reliable! 5 weeks ago, i ordered 3 pieces and i'm very surprised about the size. After the stripping, the receiver size is similar like a bubble gum stripe but the little thing have a top and save range for F3K (handlaunch-glider with 100 percent CFK). Ideal! Attention "antenna must be outside the modell"! when antenna is inside the modell the range is shorter than the FASST-system. Finaly....im very content! Five stars for price, functionaly, size! Fore stars for the range!

These are NOT compatible with Spektrum. These are considered Park Flyer receivers but my 4 foot and below airplanes are still under control at the end of MY visual range which I would estimate at better than 1000 feet.
