Corona Synthesized Receiver 4Ch 40Mhz (v2)

Corona Synthesized Receiver 4Ch 40Mhz (v2)

Corona Synthesized Receiver 4Ch 40Mhz

Throw away your crystals, say goodbye to glitches! The new Corona synthesized receiver is here!
This unit will work with existing Synthesized transmitters or crystal transmitters. In fact the accuracy of this receiver will improve the performance of all 40mhz crystal transmitters.
The RP4S1 is the smallest and lightest synthesized system available today. This small size does not impact on reception quality or performance as this unit  has the longest range available from any Corona receiver plus a sensitivity greater than 2uV. Tests have shown the range to be more than 1 mile!

The new technology put into the synthesized series of Coron receivers is truely outstanding and will certainly make you think twice about upgrading to a more expensive 2.4GHz.
Take a look at Coronas website for more details;

Another one: I got it to work with my Flash4, but it's unreliable, it twitch my copter in an unordered pattern, to dangerous to use for me. Anybody can tell me what I can be doing wrong here. *With my orginal rx it's working flawless.
 100ns 20 points
Try putting voltage protector on receiver, you can easy make one if not having one. I assume it is consuming more power than standard receiver so it can make voltage drops causing servos to glitch. I was having such problem solving them with capacitor from old motherboard:)
Tekker  29 points - 10/13/2012

Would be possible to use Lifepo 6.6 volt packs on this or would it be dangerous or round out bad to melt it ?

Does anyone know if these receivers work with a 40mhz hitec flash 5 transmitter
 thomvh 46 points
it will work with all 40mhz transmitters
 Tekker 29 points
It works with my Flash 4 Hitex, so I guess 99.9% yes !

Can I use it with my 41Mhz Transmitter ?
 honolulu133 7 points
No, you can't. You should look at article
RP4S1-41, same reciever but for 41Mhz.

Can I use this with Futaba 6EXHP 40MHz transmitter with crystal 77 Type 40-1 40.770 or do I need another crystal?
 jerry-tom 269 points
No , Rx crystal no prezent.Tuned after pressing the button.
 thomvh 46 points
this is a synthesizer so you can use every channel on the 40 mhz you only need a crystal in your tx not for rx
Rob N  7 points - 10/26/2011

WHAT setup button ? ? ? I CAN'T find any type of button on this RX ! ! ! Most TX's have no buttons either, so WHAT is the lousy manual talking about Setup Button ? ?
 edelodovici 20 points

Is it possible to shorten the antenna wire? I'm using this in my off-road buggy and it should be fine if the antenna could be half the original lenght.
 King_Air 49 points
You never should shorten the antenna wire. What you could do is to roll up the wire around a small tube or drinking straw from McDonalds *o) and hide it under the engine hood or where is enough space for it. Maybe not too close to warm parts like the exhaust...
Worked fine in my dragonfly heli *o)

is very good

yes it is.

 thomvh 46 points
it is a full-range rx so the distance will be 1000 to 1500 meters

14 thumbs up!
pretty smale receiver. comes with no manual. manual can be downloaded at www.corona-rc.com.

setup is quite simple. simply press the setup button, wait for 2 seconds. thats all.

tested my receiver with a multiplex 40mhz cockpit, a multiplex 707 car (synt. transmitter in FM/PPM mode) and a pretty old futaba transmitter with great success.

attention:
the receiver works fine with FM/PPM transmitter. it won't work with high speed FM/PPM transmitter mode (e.g. HRS, ultra HRS). it tested a ko propo esprit III and also the multiplex 707 car in HRS mode without success.

S prijimacem byly drobne potize.
Potom ho pus»te a znovu krátce stisknìte. LED bude rychle blikat. A¾ zaène trvale svítit,
je pøijímaè spárován.
4) Pokud nezmìníte kmitoèet vysílaèe, bude pøí¹tì pøijímaè pøipraven hned po pøipojení napájení.

Pozn. Pøi párování by mìl být vysílaè u pøijímaèe a cizí zapnutý vysílaè vzdálený alespoò 5m.

9 thumbs up!
I've used this receiver during the European Championships for Micromagic RC sailboats, there where more than 50 competitors. During this event I never went out of control, normally I use standard receivers and have a lot of trouble with interference and went out of control once or twice a heat!

I have also used this receiver in a small DLG plane, and again I never had any interference or went out of control.
In this plane I power the reciever with a single cell lipo of 3,7V and it works great dispite the manual says it's operating voltage is between 4,8V and 6V!

The small size and weight of this receiver makes it possible to put almost anywhere in your model without disturbing the weight balance of your model.

The only smal thing I don't like about the receiver is the long antenna. But hey thats just me!

I'm using this receiver with a Robbe/Futaba FX 18 transmitter and for me this is THE combination for all of my models.

And the price is great! It does cost less than half of the price off the normal receivers i use.

I will order 2 more.

Regards
Jeroen

7 thumbs up!
Have now range and flight tested 2 of these recievers. Range tests showed excellent performance with motor running. Flight tested in a GWS Spitfire running a KDA 22-15 motor. Receiver operated flawlessly throughout flight, with no sign of glitches. I'm so happy with these receivers that I have bought 5 more.

7 thumbs up!
It is very easy and suitable for my 3d plane. Quote from the manual:

Use method
I.Normal Working State: Turn on transmitter and adjust it to PPM mode. When electrify the receiver, the LED will blink 2 times. Then if it receives correct signal, the LED will be lightening and work normally if LED went out, it means the transmitter do not receive correct signal.
Note: 1 This receiver has the feature of memory, please electrify the receiver again if change another transmitter.

2 When change crystal of different frequency, please lock up new transmitting frequency.
II . Method of Searching RP4S1 Transmitting Frequency:
1, Pull out the aerial of transmitter, then turn on the transmitter and adjust it to PPM mode. Do not spread the aerial of receiver, and keep the transmitter be 1m far away from the receiver, also to make sure there is no working transmitter within 10m around.
2, Electrify the receiver, after the LED blink 2 times, if LED keeps be lightening, it proves that the frequency of receiver and transmitter is coherent. If LED went out, it means there are different frequencies of receiver and transmitter, or the transmitter does not receive correct signal. So it needs to set up working frequency of receiver.
3, Press the frequency enactment button of RP4S1, wait for 2 seconds and unlock it, then repeat the action within 1 second. If the LED blinks, it proves it is searching transmitting signal. Still wait for 2 to 3 seconds, if finishes setting up,
