this motors is good for multi-rotors?

Does anyone know wether this motor would work with a 15 amp ESC thx in advance
Betone2  40 points - 1/27/2013

Hi I am new to HK forum, I have one of these 2000 kv 2306N motors and I bought a TGS Sport 6x3E Precision propeller I have a 11.1 1000 mah batt and also a 7.4 v 500 mah batt. I have a 10A esc which seems a bit weak for the model. I thought in using the 2s batt instead of the 3s to reduce current but after reading here it seems I would increase current instead of reduce if I go with 7,4 v instead of 11,1 v this is conterintuitive because generally lower voltages seeing same resistance (of the motor) should propduce less current, can someone helps me out - at the moment i cannot go for a 20 A esc. tks
 Agathangelo 7 points
volts x amps = watts. When using a 7.4v battery needs "X" amps to generate power "Y" necessary for flight. Using a 11.1V battery, requires 2/3 of amperes "X" for the same power "Y" necessary for flight. Therefore it is best to use the battery of 3S and take care not to maintain full throttle all the time, use a 5x4 or 6x3 propeller which requires less from the engine, to preserve your ESC 10A. Anyway it's a risk to burn your ESC. Good luck, from Brasil.

Hi Im building a small Quad with these atm, rather than removing stick mounds them ive altered them to fit Hobbykings 10mm square carbon.
target=_blank>Altered mount
 SLOW STIK 53 points
Hi PhoenixMcc ! Really nice job www.link I had an idea like that but using the plastic GWS mount with another motor. Goes to show that I cant think of all the tricks ! That custom mount will work like a champ ! Thanks for the heads up !

plz tell me where can i get that tiny screw??? one that is on mount...
 flyingrulez 24 points
well they are easily available at your local hardware store like Home Depot. I think it is a 4-32 nut but it might be a bit bigger like a 6-32. When you go there just ask them for both and see which one fits on the motor!! hope that helped!
 Tyler 7 points
Search this motor on google and add the word parts to it and you will find it!!
 SLOW STIK 53 points
That screw is a M2 x 8. Should have it here at HobbyKing

What is the best prop combo with this motor and a 7.4v 800mah 2s battery? -Thanks
 Eduardo 31 points
Hello friend, you can use a 5x3 prop and a 20A ESC. It'll be good.
 andre 16 points
change your battery to 3s and a prop to 4x2 and you to go fly. (more of 21.000 rpm!)

Good fly :)
 flyingrulez 24 points
I mean which combo will give me most thrust.

Hello know that it has power using 800mA Lipo 2s and GWS 5x3 prop? thank you!
 waterlogged 2587 points
Is that an answer to my question? I know the plane has a main wing and fuselage but that doesn't answer my question. If you don't know the answer please don't reply.
 AntonioF104 5 points
NO NO, mine is a personal question, not related to your model, sorry for my ugly english!
 Eduardo 31 points
Hello friend, for a small jet it works, but ideally you use a 3S battery for this motor. I have a small jet of depron, and I am using a 7X3 battery-2S 1300.
 AntonioF104 5 points
thanks man, I was just curious to know the power, using a 5x3 prop and lipo 2 S. Thank you too though! :-)
 Eduardo 31 points
You can use up in a Zagi, but I think it will not be enough. This engine is good, I have one. If you like my answer, then qualify. What Country are you?
 AntonioF104 5 points
I'm Italian, I asked out of curiosity because I wanted to compare the data with another engine. thanks
 Eduardo 31 points
Okay friend, you can qualify me.
If you want a friend of the Hobby, send an e_mail to eduardo.luz1983 * hotmail****. I am Brazilian and I am aeromodeller and Helimodelista. I like having friends who practice the same sport.

This is kind of a newbie question, But I am thinking about buying a new setup. I'm kinda thinking about the AX 2308n 1800 kv, the AX 2308n 1100 kv, the AX2306n 2000kv and the AX 2306n 1300kv. What is the difference between these motors? and which one would be the most powerful on a 2s setup? I will give credit for a good response.
 adammooren 616 points
1) P=IV
so, 1100KV => 74 W
1300KV => 59.2 W
1800KV => 81.4 W
2000KV => 66.6 W
2) A little extra note: usually, with a low KV motor, the plane will build up initial speed quickly sort of like a bike with low gear ratio. With a high KV motor, the plane will build up initial speed slower but will end up faster like a bike with high gear ratio.
 Eduardo 31 points
Hello friend, this engine works great 2306n 2000Kv with a 7x4 propellers. However it is a high-speed, ideal for small, high-speed jets. if you're using a front-engine trainer is ideal for the 1300Kv.
troy  1 points - 2/1/2012

What is the rpm if I use a 3s? Thanks
 __pipe 9 points
you can obtain 19870 rpm at 3s
 Igors 11 points
Very easy. 1s lipo=3.7V. 3s lipo=3.7x3=11.1V. Kv is RPM per 1Volt. For your motor Kv=2000, it mean 2000*11.1=22200RPM in no-load running. Good luck*)
R/CNewbie  3808 points - 10/25/2011

Hi, what is a good ESC and prop combo for this motor? Thanks, Al :D
 R/CNewbie 3808 points
Sorry prop must be 5x3 as well...
 dieterza 45 points
I have this on a H-King mini wing with a 5x5e prop from hobbyking and the hobbyking 18-20 speed controller. Pushes 140W on a 3S 1000 and everything stays cool. Had to cut the shaft and put a prop adapter on for this. Makes the wing nice and quick.

where can i get a fire wall mount for this motor?
 Caffenol 14 points
i think you cant, in fact you cant even properly remove the mount that comes with it, but opt for the 1800kv or 1300kv version that have fire wall mount.
 ilektron 66 points
The picture changed so that it now is pictured with a firewall mount. I think it might come with one now.
 SLOW STIK 53 points
I bought mine in the US and it came with the stick mount... Yes it is removable but the bearing tube is 9 mm.. Standard mounts are 8 mm.. On mine I just bored the standard mount and it works great !
ilektron  66 points - 7/1/2011

Wait a sec, when did they change the motor mount? Meh. Probably easier this way than stick mount.
 Caffenol 14 points
It is much easier, especially for nose mounted planes

What is the best battery for a twin engine plane with these motors?
 ilektron 66 points
If you use the GWS 5043 with a 3S LiPo, you'll probably draw around 10A. 2x10A = 20A, so if you want a 20C battery, you are looking for something like a Zippy 3S 1000mAh~1600mAh battery. I think there are some Rhinos in that range, as well.

You should be able to tell by the motor windings and the shape of the motor to tell relative KV.
 avlisogeid 116 points
hello. It's not easy but if you check the last 2 digits above code you can ask online help and they can tell you the speed of each motor. or if you see the wire* more turns means less speed. :-) regards. Diego
 G.B.C 16 points
If you have a tachometer is easy to know, just use the recomended prop for the AX-2306N-2000 to doesn't burn the motors, more rpm's is the 2000 then 1800 and 1100, if you don't have a tachometer you can hear the motor, the faster should be the 2000 then the 1800 and the 1100. Hope this help.

I want to firewall mount this instead of stick mount. Does the stick mount come off? Does it fit the 8mm shaft mounts?
 ilektron 66 points
Found this in the reviews - Certified Buyer meshy (14 members like this guy) Like this? It seems kind of cheap, because it is! The 'bearing tube' is 9mm though, not 8mm, so it won't fit in most standard mounts. you are pretty much stuck with the stick-mount that comes with it. The motor works nicely though, no complaints.

What size stick mount does this fit?
 Daniel 18 points
Standard 10mm stick mount. You can use 3/8 but it is a pain to shim the motor on tight. Just buy some standard 10mm stick and it should mount up fine.

I ordered this motor to replace an old sp300 motor and boy does it! The specs given by hobbyking above are a bit off though, it doesnt eat nearly as much power. 10.9v (3s) - 5x3 : 58w, 5.4A (as opposed to 7.3A rated by HK) - 5x4.5 : 84w, 7.6A So if you want a nice 3s propeller, go with the GWS 0545 one. Its right on the dot power consumption wise. A three bladed 0530 would work aswell if thrust is your game.

Motor mount metric. Will not fit 1/4 stick tight.

Performs excellent with 7x3 gws prop on 3 cell 500mah LM. Battery warm, motor cool, good flight time. Great speed 30mphplus. Great thrust (8oz plane goes verticle).
