Burnt out 2 new ones. I was using a 2 cell LiPo on the first one and they say a 3 cell is all right but mine lasted less than half a second. Possible problem is the speed controllers I used. They were both new Mag 8 at 12 amp. On the 3 cell I accelerated and it smoked straight away. The esc say you have to set the joystick throw but just got to three quarters, motor cut out and smoke. Never got it set. Did I get faulty ones? Any ideas?
I had 2 fail just after I installed them with the thin wires breaking inside the motor causing it to short and over heat. They are way to fragile you only have to handle them the wrong way and its all over. I didn,t even get to fly my plane and would never bother wasting my money with anymore of these small motors.
3s: GWS 4025 220 g thrust, gets a little hot. Should be ok, because when flying amps go down a little 3s GWS 4040 165 g thrust, gets hot quickly 3s: GWS 4530 205g Thrust, gets hot quickly
One point to be careful with: wires are quite fragile, carefully fix them when model is completed and ready to fly in order to prevent damage from vibrations or crash

True out-of-box weight as delivered was 12.45g (13pcnt more than indicated). No-load RPM/V constant matches given manufacturer data quite well. Be aware that this motor is not yout typical indoor aerobatics drive, but better suitable for small and fast outdoor models. Needs appropriate cooling, but otherwise quite an impressive little motor. Props no bigger than 6x3 or 5x5 in 2s Lipos

Great motor, I used this on a wing with a 5X3 GWS prop on 3-cell. Makes a very fast wing but the motor does get a little warm. Lots of thrust though so I may switch it to a 4X4 should still have plenty of thrust but bring the amps/temp down. Will buy more.

Very nice motor. I put this little gem on a 46cm (18.1") toy wing (http://www.freescale.de/html/juniorwing.html). AUW is 94gr (3.3oz). I used a Graupner 3x3 prop, GWS 4x2.5 and bigger hit the overload protection of my TP12A ESC with a 2S 450mAh Lipo.

With 4.5x3 and 3 cells batt (500mAh) my Crobe of 145g start vertically! I must stop after 3 seconds to keep it visible... Terrific! Adrenaline during every fly!
