I am having trouble getting this motor to turn on the bench. I'm using a servo tester as a throttle input, and no load on the motor. A 25S TY-P1, 55A Dlux, and 100A Dlux just shutter at low speed. I can add drag to get the motor to sync up. My 40A SuperBrain has no problem running the motor, and with any settings (soft start, PWM rate, timing, etc.) I've got 5 motors, and 5 of each controller, so I've tried all the combination to rule out bad connections. Is this motor just to hard to start for some ESC's? (Slower microprocessor I assume)
the motor is supplied with 12mm bell crank prop addaptor and 12mm shaft prop addaptor. I would like a 10mm bell crank prop addaptor to fit this motor, any body know where I could get two of these?
ello, just have bench tested the KDA 63-24L out-runner with a Sentilon 100HV on 10 lipos (not fully charged 3.8V per cell) and have at about 3/4 throttle a hard metallic bang in the motor.
I expected the magnets to be loose and opened the motor. All magnets however appear to be in ok. I can not move one of them and there are no signs of mechanical friction visible on the magnets or stator.
Have the ESC on high timing and have a slight singing noise at about half throttle. I did not use any prop.....
Any ideas, of what to do best. Can it be the ESC???
Hello, I have found the problem!
Without the prop, the motor was to fast for the ESC.
Have added my 23x12 and all is ok.
The readings: 42V and 58A so 2320W input power.
Motor runs great and has scary power. Need to install it into my 4m Fox and go fly.....
Thanks

Bought this motor couple of months ago. Bell is badly made (not circular and thus not in balance !). The 63-20L that I bought afterwards is perfect so do a little effort in quality control HK !!!!!
Bench tested it with an Sentilon 100A and APC 21/14 on 10S and has awesome power, just scary !
Warning : do not mount prop to the bell because the metal clip will come loose. Will do some more endurance bench tests with numbers later.

4 thumbs up!
Received new well built motor (no more unbalance and perfect bell) so customer service is ok ! Bench tested with 5000mAh Turnigy on 10S and after 10 seconds 6 out of the 14 magnets were loose... Reglued ALL the magnets with epoxy and retested motor, seems to perform well now. Still haven't had time to post numbers but these will follow. So far I'm happy with this motor but you got to reglue the magnets. We'll see how it holds in future tests..

Received this motor this week for use in my F3A. Looks good, but... Bench tested with 5000mAh 10S Zippy Battery and after few seconds the shaft is "runnig out"... After repairing - first test in flight and after approx. 1 min. few magnets were loose... I try to reglue it and I hope, I will can finally to use this "DIY motor"...
I use this motor on a Pilot-1 1/4 scale Piper PA-12 and it flys on just over 1/4 throttle with a 20X10 wooden prop on 8 Lipo cells. Great pefromance, more than what is needed.
