FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST TARANIS X9D Digital Telemetry Radio System (Mode 1)

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST TARANIS X9D Digital Telemetry Radio System (Mode 1)
FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST TARANIS X9D Digital Telemetry Radio System (Mode 1)

When it comes to possibilities the Frsky TARANIS sets a new standard. FrSky is well known for their frequency hopping ACCST technology, that takes advantage of the entire 2.4GHz band, resulting in excellent range and reliability, they now offer their first full transmitter system.

The TARANIS mixes the  power of the “OPEN TX” open-source software with an unbelievable ergonomic case with 8 programmable switches, two twist knobs and two easy to get to lateral 'slider' pots, and not to mention the ultra-smooth quad bearing gimbals.

The TARANIS utilizes Voice Alerts from an internal speaker, versus just an annoying beeper. For things like; audible Count down timers, low voltage warnings, landing gear down warnings etc., just about anything can be programed, you can even use your own voice. The SD card slot offers unlimited memory options and a USB port for upgrades even a headphone jack.

One of the best features of the TARANIS is its full telemetry capability, as well as RSSI signal strength feedback, there are 3 different programmable failsafe modes and receiver lock, so no more crashes due to selecting the wrong model. If you have stock in other brand receivers or BNF’s, no worries the TARANIS has a JR style RF module slot, so you have the option of other brand modules such as the Orange DSM2/DSMX or Open LRS 433mhz module, or pop in another Frsky module to expand the transmitters capabilities even more with duel RF.

When you put it all together, between FrSky ACCST technology and the power of “OPEN TX” software and community, a ergonomic case with ultra-smooth smooth ball bearing gimbals and a large backlit LCD with a included aluminum case and battery pack. You have versatility and power at an unprecedented value.

listen to the malfunction at the end if you come to close with the TX. Thats very bad during hand launch of the plane..can lead to unwanted failsafe situations

If your on v1.x and cant connect to OpenTX Companion 2.x do this 1. Download Zadig (zadig(dot)akeo(dot)ie) 2. Make sure X9D is turned off and connect to computer Via USB Cable. 3. Run Zadig and Click Replace (replaces STM bootloader) (!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do Not Turn on X9D Yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!). 4. Disconnect X9D and run OpenTX companion. 5. Download Latest firmware. (File**>Download**>Download FW) 6. Connect X9D (turned off) and Upload Firmware (Read/write**>Write firmware to radio**> (select Firmware)**.>Write to TX)

Reçu ce matin ma Taranis. Deception à l'ouverture pas de notice, ni cable USB, ni chargeur. Sans compter les taxes de douane a payer en plus. En définitive elle est vendu complete en France pour moins cher. Reste plus qu'a la flasher...

Taranis is amazing, so many functions so many features. Its gonna take some time , although its laid out logically which helps.Wish I had a explanation of what the menu functions do. Would I be correct in assuming that if used on for example a giant scale plane where you had to use a "match box" to sync servos on the control surface , with the taranis 16ch system you dont need a matchbox because you can set each servo's travell limit, midpoint, on the tx individually?

Some suggest this is a hard radio to master. I disagree. You just have to (1) forget any programmable radio you have had before. To put it simply, unlike other radios where you select programming (like elevons), nothing is presumed. You have up to 32 channels. You decide what behavior you want on a channel, and based what input(s), and throw that into the mix for that channel. So, if you want channel 18 to be controlled by the right slider, at 100pcnt, then the mix is RS 100pcnt. And you can combine mixes on any channel (I have 5 or 6 on some of mine that are conditional). The radio enables you to tell every servo or ESC exactly what you want it to do and how - it does not stand between you and the servos with reprogrammed mixes that may or may not work for your application. Yes, there are curves, flight modes, custom software switches, custom functions, sounds, telemetry, and more (and still more on the way) - but you only have to use the bits you need - you do not have to learn it all at once. And, oft-times, there are multiple ways to accomplish your goal. Best part is, the Companion software for OpenTX (which is free) lets you play with the programming on your computer before you buy the radio, and any mixes you come up with can be transferred into the radio directly. Scott Page has also done some wonderful instructional videos. Bang for the buck, this is the cu
