This spinner actually doesn't work with 3.175mm shaft. The shaft will enter the collet, but it won't go further in that about 7-8mm. If you try to force it in, the collet will split. In order to get it stable, the shaft should go much further in than this. Mine is very unstable, and I am going to drill it up asap.

Mine also didn't fit a 3.17 shaft, 30 seconds in a drill press and a 1/8" bit and all is well. I recommend placing the Collet in the spinner back plate to drill it. The collet will be held tightly and square to the back plate and the collet cant spread apart when drilled. I ordered two and both run straight and true. Awesome value for the price!!

Very well finished aluminum spinner, it could only be improved if the nut was made of aluminum instead of steel. Very good value for the money.

I have two of them and fit perfectly on 3mm shafts. No problems so far and I would by them again.
