Thanks superjon78...u were of a great help...I'm also trying to purchase PolyMax 3.5mm Gold connectors for the motor and XT60 to 3X3.5mm power breakout cable. Can u pls tell me how many of these I need to purchase...For quick links pls look at the foll links :
Power Break out Cable for battery and ESC - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem .asp?idproduct=25479
Gold Connectors - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem .asp?idproduct=68
Pls help me !!
Lets see..(and I apologize if I misunderstood what you requested).
- First, I will assume you are using a Power Distribution Board like the ones they sell here rather than simply bundling each set of power wires from each ESC together in a bug knot. From this board you would then be able to neatly run a single set of powers out and terminate them with the XT60 connector (female).
- Second, I assume the only place you will use the 3.5mm bullet connectors is between each of the three ESCs and motors. So, I will assume your motors do not come with connectors already. I figure you will nee 9 sets (9 male and 9 female) for a total of 18 individual pieces.
- Last, be sure to buy 2 meters of 14 gauge wire in both red and black as you will need it to extend each of the two power wires coming from each ESC. If, you decide rather to extend the motor wires from each ESC instead, you will need to double the amount of bullets I me ruined earlier so you can make extension leads that are removable. I would recommend, though, simply extending your power wires.
*Good luck on your build. You are going to love your tri. They are very nice to fly. Feel free to keep asking questions.
Brilliant superjon78...That was like a brief tutorial...Thanks a lot !!! So in summary..I would need 2mtrs of heat shrink wire (red and black), 2 sets of 3.5mm connectors and an XT60 cable. Is that it ???
That's correct...as long as by "two sets" you mean 18 male bullets and 18 female bullets...an by "XT60 cable" you simply mean XT60 plug (female). I assume you have decided to extend the motor wires rather than the ESC power wires.
Don't forget the wire you will need to get some extra black and red wire for your extensions.
I'm trying to build a tricopter..so how many of these should I purchase for accommodating the three motors ?? Pls help me...I'm a newbie in this field !!
I built a tricopter myself. After making several assembly mistakes and corrections, I found I still had some of this left over from my original 1 meter length I ordered.
1 meter is plenty. I ordered red and black just to satisfy my OCD for color coding the and - wires accordingly.
Good luck!
was this a serious question??? And yes, that's the measurement BEFORE you shrink. this product is pretty good, seems more robust than other more expensive shrink-tubing I've purchased elsewhere, I will order again.
Am I reading that right? Its 1 meter length? That seems very long for the price, especially since its about $4 for 6 inches at my local hobby store. I'll never have to buy this stuff again if the length is correct !
yes that is true. it is 1meter long. I have purchaced it in red and black. it is better quality than the stuff at my local hobby store. I use 6mm, 4mm and 2mm. great stuff
die Qualität und der Preis ist nicht zu übertreffen* ich bestelle fast bei jeder Sendung Schrumpfschlauc mit um die Gewichtsbegrenzung voll auszunutzen
yse the size is right, i stocked up with 2 meaters of all the sizes i will ever need for the same price for a small mixed bundle at my local moddle shop, stock up to fill up waight on your orderds
Yes this is correct. The heat shrink is $0.25 per meter and it is 4mm "diameter" it's great not only for the hooby but also for fixing stuff around. I usually shrink it with a iron gun or a lighter when I do not have a hot blower.
these are also available on the site for free if you buy them as a bundle with lipo batteries. go to turingy lipo section and u will see a lot of these for free
HI Noseplant, you are reading correct, it is 1m for thatz Price. If you go to rc-international dot info and click on Swarm then search for it you will even get it for only 4 or 5 cent per Meter, i always add 3 Meters black and red to almost every Order i make, so i never run out, as i use it a lot on 2mm Bulletconnectors on all my Multirotorbuilds i am doing. If you find this INfo helpful please let me get rewarrded. Thank you
actually most important you should know the wire size (diameter) that you will solder to XT60 connector than only you can know the size of heat shrink tube. for example you using 14AWG wire, the diameter is about 3-3.5mm so this will turnigy 4mm heat shrink will be nice. 10AWG = 5-6mm, 12AWG = 4-4.5mm, 16AWG = 3mm. Generally wire diameter size but depend on brand or mfg.

it can use a heat pistol, a match, a lighter or a pencil to weld. Please, if my answer were of aid, please it describes like positive my answer.********
puede usar una pistola de calor, un cerillo, un encendedor o un lapiz para soldar. Por favor, si mi respuesta fue de ayuda, por favor califique como positivo mi respuesta.
A heat gun is basically a hair dryer with less airflow. Set a hair dryer to the lowest speed but hot setting, then put your hand over about 75pcnt of the intake. This will make it blow less but hotter air.
Don't do it long, then run the hairdryer on cool some and cool it down. Hairdryers have more plastic and aren't made to take this, so don't do it more than about 10-30 seconds at a time. A heat gun is cheap so get one if you do much of anything, but this works when only a hair dryer is handy
I use a cheap paint stripper heat gun. It has variable temperature and works brilliantly. Usually cheaper than a modellers heat gun. Matches and candles will often leave soot on the sheat shrink tube and a soldering iron leaves a mess also.
A hairdryer can be used but must be kept quite close to the heatshrink in order to heat it sufficiently. Be careful to keep the tip of the hairdryer moving so as not to overheat any wire, connector, or other delicate components.
Using the tip of the iron oftens marks the heat shrink, but there is often a cleaner part of the iron above the tip that is still hot enough to shrink the tubing and not to mark it.
I was a heat gun. The type that is used for putting plastic covering on models. A lighter will work great too but with but with either you must always keep the heat moving so not to melt the heat shrink too much.
Well, that depends on the actual thickness of your wire including the insulation. As I don't know how thick the insulation of your wire is, nobody can make a suggestion. But the following might help you: Based on my experience the turnigy heat shrink tubes shrink to about half of their original diameter. So let's assume your wire is 4mm in diameter. A heat shrink tube of 5mm or 6mm will fit perfect.
The 12AWG wire seem to have a diameter of around 4mm so I would use 6mm Heat Shrink Tube (Black - www.link Red - www.link for better isolation and support.
Good as the expensive stuff in my mind. I just use a cigerette lighter and works great. I will allways but shrink from HK. 3' should last a very long time
I use the cold part of the soldering iron. It works great, and it's easy to use, because when you are soldering the connectors you are with the soldering iron at your hands.
You need heat above 200 degrees Celsius to shrink the sleeve, preferably air. Please be aware that you can use your solder iron but it is not advisable as it may melt the sleeve and cause a nasty smell. I prefer to use a butane burner or normal cigarette lighter and not the heatgun.
Estimated factory delivery date* early April Backorder is -70 call,e-mail,or post on customer live community under Order Support and they can take the intem off your order.
You can never say when they will get it. On the product page it states "early April", but that might change. If you need the rest of your order quick, just write a mail to customer service or use the live chat. They can remove this item from your order and credit it back to your account.
I replaced 4mm red, which was out of stock, too an additional 4mm black, which was in stock, just too but loose an order without any problem, because the cost and weight are identical.
Great shrink tube at a fraction of the cost from other places. And yes, it is always a pain when HK runs out of something - I have yet to master the fine art of patience.

What are you talking about. "implement functionality that would be not answer the question proposed to her" Sorry but it doesn't make sense. "Would be not answer the question" has no meaning and who is "her" you mention. Unregistered users can't answer or even ask questions and there is no such thing as the 20 cent bonus any more. I did notice that you have answered a number of questions which over 20 people had already answered and you answered with answers that had already been used. You have copied and pasted this post many times in the forum but what is the reason? Perhaps you could explain please.

High quality !! Shrinks with low heat and doesn't get damaged when you overdo it a bit. I use this for shrinking the cables on Deans plugs. Remember to order red shrink tube as well for a professional look. Also ideal for 3.5mm bullet connectors.
