yes it feals like rubber. and it shrinks realy god.

I don't have a heat gun so I just use a lighter. Works great! I've never been disappointed.
Srijal Poojary  17 points - 4/10/2013

once shrunk, does this feel like rubber?
 e_lm_70 426 points
For me they feel more like plastic ... once shrunk they are more rigid ... but still it keep some elasticity (less as not shrunk) ... so .. something between the two
 anikeev 619 points
All shrink tubes based on plactic. I like hobbyking's tubes because they have more rubber feel. I used cheap tubes bought in local shop - they feels like plastic bag and looks unreliable. Feel also depends by color. Red is more plastic, black and yellow is more rubber. Transparent is more rubber and flexy too. I recommend to buy a lot of diameters and colors. Once you tried shrink tubes you will never wanna use regular isolation tape. Hope that helps.

is there a another way to shrink this than a heat gun?
 GG_NAMPPU 73 points
A lighter will work just fine.

Be careful playing with fire ... they can also get on fire these tubes ... they are plastic based

dose it come pre shrunk like that?
 Andy_NM 87 points
No, they are only showing you how it will shrink when you heat it. I use the side of my soldering iron along the sides of the tubing on each side to shrink it down.
 Arun 130 points
No it will be a unshrinked piece... If you heat them it will shrink like shown in the figure..
 CrashAce 797 points
The tubing comes in 1 meter length rolled up and taped with scotch tape.

If you don't have a heat gun you can just use a lighter. Keep the flame 2 inches away from the tubing and keep the flame moving. don't hold it in one place. Let the tubing cool for about 30 seconds before handling.

Can i use this for all types of wire?
 Andre 90 points
Any type of wire that isnt bigger than 3 mm
 Arun 130 points
use it anywhere you need to protect from short circuit.. I use them for joining pushrods with some CA..
Jay  3 points - 1/18/2012

Would this be good for the XT60 type connector?
 Wazza_99 866 points
Yes, even though I myself use 4mm. But I get a feeling 3mm will be a tighter fit but in the end, it depends on the wire. Don't forget to use buddycodes, it will only cost you $.04 instead of the $.25!

Yeah this stuff is great, I recommend getting a few sizes since it's so cheap. It should be fine for XT60 though.
 Adam 41 points
not really, i would recommend the 5mm, the 3mm is very small and hard to get around the ends of the connector where u soldered

Is it good of quality?
 Alex 1 points
Yes. Nice.
 Cassio 4 points
Yes. This shrink tube is very good of quality!
 sacred 29 points
It is perfect for its price.
 medixx 210 points
Really good quality. If compared to very expensive products maybe a little less flexible.
 ____ab 11 points
Excellent shrinking. Good grips. Does not burn.
 mslootweg 10 points
Yes, it works fine :)
 Andrew 17 points
Good quality tubing, shrinks good, consistent, great price!!
 AZANCHET 2 points
Does not burn. Good quality!
 Schorsch 105 points
Die Qualität ist wirklich i.O.. Ich werde wieder kaufen. Vielleicht etwas steifer aber das ist ohne hin oft Besser.
 newblood 4 points
Very easy to work with. Just note the diameter of the tubing and make sure it'll fit around the wire you're soldering. Also remember to put the tubing onto the wire BEFORE soldering on connectors.
 adamg 2 points
Yes it is great quality. Now give me my 20 cent credit :)))
 BrianK 25 points
this is great stuff, I would buy it again
 steph005 14 points
wow !!! J'ai sauvé près de 20$ pour la même quantité !! Surtout à une aussi bonne qualité que ceux en vente partout !!

MERCI Hobbyking .

 evan.flatt 50 points
Yep, good quality. Especially for the money!
 Brooke 4 points
I love this tubing, no burning, and cant beat it for the money. Highly recommended.
 GABBAHEAD 1 points
Shrink tubing is one of the best ways to insulate ave been years in it for year in the motor industry you cant fault it
 lindahl 13 points
good quality but it could be little more soft when shrinked.
 Serjo 16 points
good quality
 Tim 1 points
Good value obv. Very cheap aswell. It was actually cheaper buying it here and shipping it rather than buying it in my hometown hardware store.
 __jure 22 points
Best quality for this price, but don't make it burn *)
 NovatoBR 63 points
This is a winner product
 ianmicallef 16 points
This is the best quality I have ever found. and when shrunk it is still flexible.
 Daredee 47 points
I like that it matte, not glossy
 MilesIsted 3 points
It is consistently good, however it is not the highest shrink ratio you can get. this is about 2:1, you can get 3:1 and 4:1 - However this is great for most things and is at a brilliant price and a good length of it :-) Well worth a buy for most applications.

could I expand a little before heating ?
 Sirius35 34062 points
yes you could, just cut perfect to prevent any crash
 Cardinals 77 points
I would say minimal, and recommend buying one of each size. It is very practical to have several sizes, plus they cost next to nothing.
 Leo rus 3 points
Yes, when it was urgently necessary, I have a little chewed teeth
 Daredee 47 points
I use scissors to expand it a lil
 aliank 14 points
just get another bigger size if you could. Cutting it bigger might just cost you more if the heat shrink tear.
 TOLEY 11 points
It's hard to expand before it shrinks. You can force it to expand but also you can tear it too.
 Ebiker 160 points
Hey I do that all the time. Use long nose plyers to pull it apart. You can turn the plyers inside around to make it even biger. I get mine 2x the size if I need to.
 Sirius35 34062 points
I used to expand a little mine and i find this is bette to help better retract
 Max 1 points
Yes it is possible, I always use two thin screwdrivers.
 Fabio Takeo 6 points
not much recommended, should use the specified measures, and good to ask a little of each.
 Francisco 41 points
Excelente termofit. Muy conveniente para aislar cables
 mariocba 8 points
The best use is recommended for each type of cable, but in an emergency you insert the tip of the pliers inside as much as possible and opens the pliers, and extends it in full. Recalling that will lose efficiency designed by the manufacturer.
 __cpjr 9 points
Acredito que nao , melhor compra no tamanho correto.
 janac.marek 6 points
No. Don't expand it. It can damage it. Buy this and bigger one. Size iz perfect, so there is no problem to buy 3mm and 4mm :)
 C.Casey 11 points
this will shrink to almost 1/2 its current size but you can not really expand it just by the size you need or as I do I buy several different sizes so I know I always have what I need
 Alexander 3 points
It's nearly impossible to do so. And if you manage to do, then it will be a complete mess and not insulate very good anymore.
 handyjap 195 points
Yes, you can expand the Tube a little, around 25pcnt, before heating but keep in mind that it also reduce the quality of the product and might tear.
 MilesIsted 3 points
If you need a larger diameter, just get some larger heatshrink. If you still need it to shrink down to 1.5mm, have a look for a specialist heatshrink supplier with the needed diameter and a high shrink ratio, EG 4:1 heatshrink in 8mm diameter will shrink down to 2mm. This stuff is around 2:1. If this helped, please credit.
Dragevo  606 points -

I'm fairly certain that this 3mm tube retracts/shrinks to about half, 1.5mm.
 Yanniv 63 points
Ok thank you *)
Yanniv  63 points -

Hello, can you say to me what is the size of the retracted tube?(Or the not-retracted tube if the retracted size is 3mm)
Thanks
 Corleone 116 points
3mm unshrinked. Aprox. 1.5mm shrinked/heated.

11 thumbs up!
Good heat shrink, but a little size information for those of us that never know which size to order

Snug fit over a 3.2 mm drill bit.
Shrinks down to 2 mm inside diameter.

Good for 2mm to 3 mm bullet plugs.
