Setting up the correct CG (center of gravity) for your model is crucial when it comes to flight performance. Attempting to fly a model which is not balanced correctly can result in a total loss. With the all new Hobbyking Center of Gravity Machine, all guesswork is taken out of the equation.
Easy to assemble and made from high quality materials, this machine will last you a lifetime. It features sliding rulers which will give you a very accurate CG measurement from the leading edge of the wing.
Features: • Easy to assemble • Constructed from high quality materials • Can measure CG of up to 250mm from leading edge of wing • 380mm clearance between measurement points and surface • Maximum 260mm width between measurement points (adjustable)
Mine just arrived with all parts with it.
It looks great for the price it has.
The only problem that i've seen is that the little allen prisoner screws are too shorts, so they don't do their function, i've changed them for a longer ones.
I also see that it could be a problem measuring because of the rulers, it looks like they can origin a mistake while measuring because of their weight.
yes good idea but its flawed.
the fault with this is that although you fully load your aircraft with batteries/fuel etc for balancing, because the plastic ruler and the metal insert touch the wing and pivot at the insert rotational point. So the plastic ruler and the metal insert are now part of your aircraft during balancing but obviously they are not present while you fly...
got this from the AUS warehouse. its true that the rulers throw out your cg, but its an easy fix. Setup the rulers, set the plane on the pivot heads, unscrew the thumbscrews and remove the rulers, giving you a neutral balance point.
Mine arrived also with all parts. I was having some massive cg issues with some of my aircraft from new built. I havent had the problems with the rulers as mentioned above. I did however find that some landing gear setups get in the way of the front ruler and the leading edge. All you have to do is add the measurement from the front of the landing gear strut to the front of the leading edge and adjust the ruller accordingly and you will get your perfect cg position. For appox $12 its solved a lot of my issues with cg.
Got mine very impressed for the price and is made of good quality materials and for the price it blows the other high priced CG Machines on the market out the water !
What size models will the HK CG machine take ? I would say up to most 60" planes....Bargain nice one HK
