Go 229-BR  2 points - 4/20/2013

How much AMPERS or Miliampers this servo use? With 3A Bec in my Esc is a enough for 3 or 4 servos HX5010?
 Carlos Goncalves 15 points
In this case is better to use a 5A or plus BEC.
 Robert 1 points
Each servo can pull 3amps.

 Christian 1 points

İ*ts my First servo for my glow powared plane, so i trust it as it can be first in my experience. İ*t never dissapoint me, it better than my hope.

would this servo work good as a sttering servo for a savage.25?
 Johnny 7 points
yes indeed i used this on all my planes as well on all my nitro cars and believe me i have crash them and then the servo is still fine
 smarivoet 47 points
indeed, if this servo is failing it is failing already when you unpack it. I've already ordered more than 30 of them and had 1 doa... all the others are (until now) still functioning fine
Jorge  5 points - 2/3/2013

Mr. Mentor, why you don´*t recommend this servo for gas engines?
 iguron 55 points
Maybe what he means is that this servo´*s torque is not enough for big planes, like gas planes and glow planes for 3d. But it would be a great servo for glow plan if your plane is not acrobatic or "radical /3d" usage.
 opjose 228 points
Mentor is not correct. These servos produce 90oz/in torque at 4.8v and more at 6v. That is more than suitable for a 20-50cc gasser. As a matter of fact I've been flying three 30cc and 50cc gassers with these servos without problems for the past two years.

opjose, thank you very much for your comment. I´*m also flying a 20CC and a 26CC without any troubles so far. Best regards.
 Johnny 7 points
this is a amazing servo i also fly it on my 20cc full 3d and its dream
 smarivoet 47 points
the only plane I didn't use them is a 62cc tow-plane because I was more or less affraid that they will not be "good enough" for the flaps that go 90°* all the way. All other planes going from 10cc up to 50cc are doing fine with this servos

what would be the best servo for a boat tail rudder which is 110mm long
 njck671 8 points
it depends of the size and placement of your rudder, but for sure it will be enough! i ve put on mine boat after propeller, 1000w brushless, and that seem to work too much(rudder dimensions: 30 *55 mm)! a few degrees in right or left and the boat want to run on canopy!

Spline
Do any of the large servo arms (sold by HK) fit the spline on this servo? I have tried the JR ones and they dont
 Eero 94 points
Futaba 25tooth spline should be correct one.
Luis  1 points - 12/10/2012

iwojima1  33 points - 11/11/2012

hi are there fit any servo arm from JR/Futaba/Hitech or the other?
 Christian 1 points
I used the Futaba/Tamiya arm that game with my Tamiya-kit. Unless Futaba has different fitments, it will fit.
Paulo  6 points - 10/23/2012

Purchased 6,tested all six. Installed 4 in a new plane, flew today. I have used all types of servos for 40 years. It really does not get better than this. Strong, fast, quiet. I still cannot believe the price. I will buy more and use them in all my planes.

I was amazed at how well these servos perform, thought they might be a bit jittery around the centre but they are not.have 4 of these in my .76 engined extra and they are terrific, can only fault one thing and that is they may be a bit noisey but hey, you cant hear them in the air lol
would recomend, i will be ordering more and putting these in other planes i have.

I am quite disappointed with operation quality of this servo. It is cheap, light but extremely noisy and tugging operation. I try to lubricate cogwheels with teflon vaseline with poor effect. I bought 6 and test 2 pieces with the same result.

I read the HX-5010 servo reviews and observed the advertised specification of 4us dead band. I ordered 10 servos. When I received the servos, I tested the performance on my Hitec HFP-10 servo tester. The dead band for all 10 servos measured 8-9us compared with only 5 us for the standard low-cost Hitec HS-422. The servo might be ok for motor control or rudder.
