Are these still in the catalogue? Entire "Electric motors -> KDA Outrunners" section is in backorder. A while ago it was not even accessible from the main menu. Did HK completely postpone offer?
no!! I do not recommend to try it! so use them, the sprockets are very hard to remove, on my two engines broke off some magnets (literally paraded)
BAD ENGLISH
The recommended prop size is 9x4,7. I'm using 10x4,7 also. My plane's is 400g approximately and it is flying skyrocket with these props. At this time I attach props using nut but if you are not experienced pilot I recommend you to use prop saver.
I have a 30 amp Turnigy if you make a roll or a looping I will recomend the 30 amp´s a college of me have 25 amp, and he destroys 3 of the 25amp by doing loopings all the flight time for 5 minutest with a multiwii.
And also switch to soft run, this will also helps very well on the 30 and 25 amp
As you can see on picture, motor cames with the spare shaft. Also, both shafts (preinstalled one and the spare one) can be moved along rotor to stick out from another side.
To get a guess of the rpm of your motor WITHOUT LOAD, you can multply the stated kV number with your Voltage! For example: 3S lipo (11,1V) 1000kV motor will turn without load at about 11,1*1000=11.100RPM
The maximum ESC current should be higher than motor current. If motor is cooled well with air, current could be more then specified for the motor during 10-15 seconds, so it's good idea to use ESC wich can handle 20...25A for this motor. Concrete maximum current will depend on the battery voltage (2S or 3S) and propeller used.

You may use 8x6 Graupner CAM, 8x4 APC E... you may go up to 8.5x6 Aeronaut e-Prop, not more... all this at 3s LiPol - both fixed propellers* for folding props max. Aeronaut 9x5 ... in all these cases you will have the output from 85 to 100 W, current max. 14A at max. output
If your foamie is enough big, i recommend you to drill holes into fuselage, and glue dowels into it. Then mount the motor by turn srews into the dowels. And use hot glue to get more fix.
With very good cooling maybe, but I do not suggest to overload it. It can easily burn down.

15 thumbs up!
A little bit amp hungry, and I don't really think it can handle 15 amps (got hot and a bit smelly with an APC 8060 SF). But in the 12-amp range (say, GWS 9050 HD or 8060 HD) it will probably survive. They run about 12 amps and don't get too hot if you take it easy on the throttle. Thrust figures are a bit low for the amp draw, but not horrid. The first post has it right as far as I can tell, there is no flux ring at all on the motor and that's cutting the efficiency. However, if you want to run in the 10 amp max range and efficiency is secondary, this motor will do the job.

8 thumbs up!
This little motor really works well. I put it on a 28" bipe and it can do some hard 3D on a TP 1320 2S with a 10x4.7SF for 10 minutes easily. Battery and Motor were hardly warm. Lots of bang for you buck! I would highly recommend this motor to anybody looking for a small but mighty motor on a budget.

4 thumbs up!
Very nice presentation It would be better ( efficiency will grow and kv will decrease for the same winding number) to make a thicker magnetic schield for the rotor instead of the very nice blue anodised aluminium can (same thickness but only steel not steel and aluminium cover) Do not supply the gold connectors as modelers use often other kind of connectors ( sold them appart ) otherwise it would be 5 , magnets are curved and lamination thickness is correct, the machining, the wire gauge and quality are very good, o)

3 thumbs up!
I bought this motor for Cessna 182 arttech, it was 800 grams ( I put ski for winter)I put 3s 2500 lipo 170 gramm. Prop gws 9*4.7 it gave 11amps for 10 Volts = 110 watts. It was enough for my plane and for some aerobatics.70pcntthrottle - the flight is normal. Good motor and very good price. Thanks for fast delivery.I am waiting for appearence 4020eq. motors.
