I mount mine on a depron sheet 3M double sided tape between the depron and the APM case. I also ballance the prop on both the hub and blades, and the motor bell, in order to avoid vibration that may cause problems on the gyros and on the pictures I am taking.
Quick question, hoping to get a quick answer. Does anyone know what the thickness is on this material. I am trying to get composites on building to specific models to make them match up to specs on each model. I am in the process of building to suit to the HK-S650.
Still waiting for mine to arrive but in answer to an old question. I intend to screw the APM into the case and softmount the case probably with disposable ear plugs [free from work :) ] This way the added mass and hence inertia of the case assists in vibration reduction. Think of it as hitting a baseball and a bowling ball with a baseball bat, the bowling ball ain't going anywhere
Well, I believe the plywood is there do induce further frustration, possibly a stroke or heart attack
if HK have got the fragility of the plywood correct :-)
There is an image in the 'Files' tab, but that just shows the 'first' bit of plywood tomfoolery, but nothing else.
the plywood is the holder for the plastic fibre lead for driving light of the flight controller led.
this is help you to make the led visible from the small hole at the top cover.
so you can know the flight controller is on or off, arm or disarm, gps is lock or not and etc. :)
Joining each section required a tap with a soft faced hammer, very close tolerances, however this makes for a tight glueless assembly. I still added some foam to help shield the baro sensor and all works well in this case.
