Turnigy AE-100A Brushless ESC
Turnigy AE-100A Brushless ESC

The Turnigy AE series are based on new powerful microprocessor.
The new CPU means ultra fast sync timing, crisper throttle response, less battery load and reduced FET heat buildup. Also there is a separate voltage regulator IC for microprocessor providing good anti-jamming capability.

Output: Continuous 100A, burst 115A up to 10 seconds.
Input Voltage: 2-6 cells lithium battery or 5-18 cells NIMH battery.
BEC: Linear 4A @ 5V
Control Signal Transmission: Optically coupled system.
Max Speed:
2 Pole: 210,000rpm
6 Pole: 70,000rpm
12 Pole: 35,000rpm
Size: 71mm (L) * 34mm (W) * 17mm (H).
Weight: 79g.

High performance microprocessor brings out the best compatibility with all kinds of motors and the highest driving efficiency.
Wide-open heatsink design to get the best heat dissipation effect.

How do I know what timing to set on the ESC? I am unable to get a count of magnets on the Outrunner motor I am using, at the stock ESC Timing of 15 degrees the airplane was slow! I was able to raise the timing to 26.25 degrees, and run WFO on the bench with more top end power. The airplane is a Reno Racing Mustang. Is it a matter of Trial and Error?????

Does anyone know if this esc (or any other plane esc) can be flashed with a different Software to improve startup performance in ground use? I need the high voltage capabilities together with rather low currents.

I'm looking to use this ESC on a scratch build that I just started. Has anyone used this ESC on a multi ESC setup. I am building a C-5 Galaxy which will have 4 70mm EDF units. This will be my first multi motor build. Is there any issues with running 4 of these in parallel to my receiver and are there any special procedures to connect these to my receiver? (Other than just Y-harnessing them all together) Thanks in advance for your help.

Is this a good use for my Dr. Mad Thrust 90mm Fan unit? 4082 1620kv 4-pole motor. AND do I need to change the timing? Default (for this esc) is 15 degrees. thanks

I am using this for a 50-65 410kv motor, 16x10 turnigy wood prop, 6s 4000mah turnigy nano tech batt. 1680watt, 74amp at full 25v freshly charged. 1400watt 62amp at normal 22v operation. have only a few min ground test with meter, and (2) 6min flights on it but so far I am very pleased, everything comes down cool. Very nice case/heat-sink construction. I left all factory settings and works good for my setup, program sheet did come with it. I would buy again and recommend.

I tested in a UL 1 with Turnigy 500 1300kv outrunner, Zippy 2200 mah 3s, 2x 2s with the 40mm 3 blade prop at full throttle, esc very very low heat, low battery heat=about 1/4 of what I have felt before - no swelling, very smooth start up, I have had problems with this set up before, very happy so far with esc
