** Many fake, poor quality & untested FPV products are currently entering the market. Don’t get caught out with poor quality substitutes, SkyZone FPV equipment is tried and true and has been tested and developed by FPV pilots for FPV pilots.
in fact, the receiver is affected by 2.4ghz, when my radio is off, video signal is smooth
but when i turn it on, some moving white lines appear on the screen
it's not strong lines but a bit annoying....
Does anyone know what the safe temperature range is for this unit? I took mine apart last night and let it run outside the aluminum enclosure for 20 minutes and it got to 110 deg F. I am assuming that when it is in the case, the temp will rise even more 120 . I would just like to know whether this is normal operating temperature, or do I need to mod it with heatsinks/fans. Has anyone experienced a thermal shutdown?
you know I was thinking the same thing. i am getting a 12v computer cooling fan for this thing with some kind of opening to let airflow. if it did shut down you know you would be at like mile marker 6 when it happened lol.
Just installed the fan (bought for 5 bucks on ebay) by drilling out hole in front and vents on sides wired direct to power internal so when ever plugged in the fan is running. if nothing else gives me some peace of mind. great range with one directional and one omni!
for best results if you are using a skew or cloverleaf as your omni place the antenna horizontally , this elimiminates the vertical overhead null , then point the directional antenna which will be a helical in the same direction as the skew the directional helical antenna will mask the null behind and in front of the circular skew antenna , eliminating your nulls :)
I have just watched a flitetest video where they talk about a diversity splitter (you connect more than one rx to it and it decides which is the strongest signal to display)... I was looking for one when I found this diversity rx. So does this do the same thing all in the same box? Can you connect a directional and a non directional antenna and it will automatically use the strongest signal?
yes it does just read instructs for how to use as a diversity. i am using the boscam 1000mw tx with clover leaf on tx and rx and for the second rx antenna a 3 Turn Helical for long range. the switching is smooth enough that I notice much change on screen. also the pic really cleaned up when I switched to this rx. much better than the **** sharks lol.
you can find vids of some pretty long range flights with this rx
hope that helps
After reading some of the comments about this product (after I had already ordered it) I put them to the test.
1. The diversity works
2. Antenna tracking works (check compatibility)
Its small compact and the power terminal it away from the antenna jacks.
This thing gets hot.....really hot. I burnt my finger by touching the outside after it ran for about 20 min. The voltage regulators heat up way too much. 175 degrees running at 12v...before thermal shutdown. Better at 9v but still over 120 degrees and noticable glitch when antennas change.
I removed it from the case, added a bunch of heat-sinks and a small fan and cut outs for airflow. Runs well now. Tested for 2 hours and stayed below 100 degrees.
I like the rx, just wish they would have placed a bit more importance on product quality.

I Read the proir review . So i did my own tests . now bean sitting for 20 min , and its Warm , I have the 16 db directional and a 12 spiral coil . being all 5.8 best aleals i also use with emmersion diversit , now both diversitys sit on top of each other the china brand Heear in review is Verry Good I choose to tune in 1 channel first only channel 3 then ,to turn on the other seperaty . and when both are ,to start with . on with one channel . tune it same .>> I then switch both on , Very good priduct A1 not very hot but a easy to add a heat sink like A ESc . A large alloy heat sink with Fan or not can Help . tho all possible to mount on a small alloy metal plate mount . and 12 volt .is best to recieve Uning large Areals . 11.5volt at least .> Voltage for good distance boost . signals are Very Clear Very well tuned and A1 item .

Very good. Doesnt overheat like other people say. Use it on a 12V Pb 7Ah battery that powery my antenna tracker. Gets warm but not hot. Switching is very good, you dont see it when the image switches.

If you have a deal with migration from RC305 receiver to this device be
avare that antenna connector is differ: RP-SMA on 305 vs SMA on deversity
receiver. You need new set of antennas or adaptor like: [SMA male to RP-SMA female]
