Looking for PRO class helicopter performance at a price that can't be beat? Your search is over...KDS is here!
Constructed from top quality materials and featuring the latest in 3D helicopter design, the KDS Innova V2 series will not disappoint.
The new Innova V2 series feature a DFC (direct flight control) rotor head minimizing rotational mass providing the ultimate in response, control and efficiency. This head design brings the rotor disc closer to the main frame providing a lower center of gravity. This increases agility and performance making it ideal for 3D flight.
The Innova V2 main frame is constructed from genuine carbon fiber and reinforced with aluminum side plates to provide the ultimate in rigidity. The beefy 25mm tail boom eliminates vibration and flex found in other helicopters with smaller diameter booms. This means no flex even under the most extreme of 3D maneuvers!
All the functional features aside, the KDS Innova helis simply look amazing with their beautifully finished carbon fiber main frame, black anodized aluminum parts and expertly painted fiberglass canopy. It will be sure to turn heads every time you bring it out to your local flying site!
KDS is a high quality brand that you can trust. They are well known in the PRO helicopter world performing very well in 3DMasters, 3DX and other R/C model helicopter flight competitions around the globe.
*Note: This is the latest version of the KDS Innova series helicopters featuring the all new DFC rotor head design and update parts. No old stock here! Features: • High Precision DFC Rotor Head • High quality carbon fiber main frame • Expertly painted high gloss fiberglass canopy • Lightweight aluminum main bearing/tail boom blocks • Lightweight carbon fiber tail case assembly • High efficiency belt drive tail system • High quality carbon fiber main/tail blades included • Oversized 25mm diameter tail boom providing extreme rigidity
Hi, it comes as a kit and you would have to build it yourself, it is reletively easy to assemble but double check everything as you go and before/after first flight, There is extra's to buy for it which are listed in the required parts list but patience with final setup and help from experienced r/c heli pilot will help if not done before..
I am so pleased with my 550. This helicopter is so much easier to repair than the 450, the bolts don't strip. The parts pull off so easy and replace so easy and is not so much more expensive than the 450 but is so much more worth it. I had the whole head and bearing blocks strip down in half an hour. The 450 you need to use a hot soldering iron for 20 to 30 second to release the lock tight or you damage the allen key or strip the tiny bolt head. The KDS agent in my country flies his 550 DFC on 25percent tail gain and still seem to hold the tail solid, seems a bit low but the tail does not wag or blow out. V1 EBAR
Ok I have found that in the PPC setup with Bar monitor channel 5 at the radio 52 percent (T9XR) is around 64 percent in the ebar received. So I decreased the tail gain to 42 in the radio and now see 52 percent in the ebar, the KDS agent with his WFLY TX has his radio on 25 percent.
How wide is the frame, will the helidrive sk3 1250kv motor fit ?
Only the build so far. Kit is of very high quality, only a slight default in one of the carbon fiber panels (likely because of a bump during transport). Instructions are clear, though a few more explanations in places would help (like how to get the main gear on). Servo setup makes access to that area very easy, and the large battery tray makes battery placement easy (5000Mah 6S fit easily). Little details like the canopy grommets at the front of the heli ensure putting the canopy on is simple and avoids damaging the canopy (and makes the fit very snug).
Really nice heli. Fun to build and very good quality. Mine arrived with no Rx plate and the old short bottom frame plate, without the extension at the front to hold the battery strap. I really miss not having this because this heli is very tail heavy and the battery needs to go a long way forward. Without a strap on the front the battery can easily come loose. The canopy looks different to the picture. It's a new V2 version that looks like the original V1 version with a new paint job and slightly lower at the back. Don't drill your holes in the canopy until you can see where your battery needs to go, as it's unlikely you will be able to sit the canopy where it's shown in the picture. Also the pinion provided is bad. The hole is too big and the pinion will orbit. Also the main gear lost a tooth on my 3rd flight. Mesh was perfect and I have a good quality "hard one" pinion and a very soft start. I suspect the latest gear plastic in not flexible enough. The blades are good and well balanced. I ended up using a 15T pinion and the Turnigy 600 1180kv motor. This is a good combo for this heli. Servos are 3 x Turnigy 1257TG and the HK47110DMG Mi servo. FBL controller is the fu-bar, which works brilliantly. The heli flies well and is very smooth. It also gets up and goes fast if you want it to. With the 3kW motor I mentioned above this heli is ballistic in pitch pumps. The tail is very strong with the stock 95mm blades. All up a great heli but the issues drop it to 4 stars.

No issues at all in the build, quite easy build. Robust boom with great belt. Seems like pretty good aluminium. Frame is 2mm. Performance: Really good
Motor: Align 600mx,
Servo cyclic: Align ds 615
Tail: Mks bls 980
