I never lost control of the surfaces. The ESC was ****, and died at 1/2 throttle. The ESC wasn't even getting warm, and neiter was the battery. Had several flights on it without any problems. If you read my post, you would know that. I bought another esc on Ebay and all is fine now. Hobby King wanted me to send the esc to them so they could throw it away for me, but I declined and parted it out for the leads and plugs which I used on my new esc. There's no way my little plane was pulling more than 44 amps, unless the motor specs are incorrect.The esc simply had a component failure. Dennis
Mine almost killed my Pitts today. Just lost power 2 minutes or so into a flight. Tried another freshly charged battery, and same deal. I advance the throttle, it starts to go then quits. It worked fine for a week. I have a 3536-6 motor, and im using 2200ma 3S batterys. Don't think I want anymore HK electronics. It wasn't even getting warm on previous flight, and just failed suddenly, Grrrrr...
I can tell ya what happend... To much current draw on the bec! I have a 55 inch wing flying on a 4 cell setup with digital high torque servos. As long as i keep it below 3/4 throttle I have control of the servos, * full throttle no servo control but still have esc control.... You need an external bec budd. :-)
Thanks for the answer. You are right, it stops beeping when the engine is running, but starts again when its off. Still would like to disable it - rather annoying. Thanks!
Installed this 50amp HK ESC. Did not change programming. Bound receiver, everything works, but ESC beeps every 30 seconds or so. Single beep. What does this mean and how can I stop it from doing this - its annoying at the least? Thanks.
Mine does the samething from what i have read it is just informing you that the esc is armed and ready to go so you dont accidently move the throttle and hurt yourself. supposedly the beeping stops when the motor is running but I dont listen to it close enough to find out if it is or not. I havent had any problems with it.
Cadertot is right.... It's letting you know it's armed. You can't turn it off but it does stop when you advance the throttle. Drove me nuts when I was setting up my sbach!

If you want it simple and sweet, grab one of these rascals and go for it. Checked connections and all was good, had to change the stock battery side (I use "Deans" style) if I were to upgrade to the newer ends it would truly be plug and play.

This ESC is simple enough to use. But if you program it, beware:
I had a problem after successfully programming this ESC the first time. I went through the programming steps as discussed in the single leaflet manual. I even used the default settings. I just wanted to go through the motion. After the last step, I was able to successfully arm and work the throttle. But, after power cycling it, it would not initialize again. It would give off an alarm consisting of 3 quick ascending tones that repeat over and over. This happens just by plugging in a motor and a 3S or 4S battery and no receiver. I even tried to plug it back into the original receiver and tried to get it back into programming mode. No luck.
Almost added to the local land fill. Then I decided to give it another try.
I have been using 3S and 4S LIPOs with it successfully until it freaked out after the first attempt at programming it. Finally, I plugged in a 2S battery, and it initialized successfully. After that, I was able to successfully use the 3S and 4S batteries again. The only issue with it now is that it gives off one extra beep when counting the battery cells. 2S gives 3 beeps, 3S gives 4 beeps and 4S gives five beeps. It was giving off the correct beeps before it went nuts and recovered.
No problem with me with the extra beep (more for the money), as long as it keeps working. I have not tried it in a re
I am using this ESC with a D2826-6 2200kv motor, and 7-6 prop on my lightened Me-163 Komet from Hobby King, and am very pleased. It doesn't get hot, and works flawlessly! Inexpensive ESC for small electrics.
