WireLabels - servo wire label heatshrink (14mm x 1m)
Servo Lead Label Heatshrink (14mm x 1m) - Ideal for neat labelling of servo leads, simply cut the desired pre-printed label from the roll, slide onto the lead or plug and shrink!
The following Labels are pre-printed onto the 1 metre roll: Aux 1, Aux 2, Flap, Gear, Battery, Aileron, Elevator, Rudder, Throttle.
Hey, I should mention something. You can get Sharpies in silver - I use them all the time for labelling wine bottles with a "don't drink before" date. They write on glass, and show up like crazy on dark bottles. They show up equally well on dark things like... heat shrink. Instead of black on yellow, try silver on black. Even works directly on the servo plugs. But I still really like these labels. :-)
I'm thinking you're right. The reviews of the HK product don't seem very good, and you're right about local pricing. Doesn't make sense to get a POS shipped to you when you can get local warranty, does it?
No! For basically the same reason we don't all shave with our pocket knives. The majority of us aren't into whittling coffee tables out of pine trees, jakob0! Using a lighter gives very little temperature control. You can easily burn the heat shrink, melt connectors, melt solder joints, and light your nice balsa parts on fire! Step out of the stone age, my friend!
Ha ha. If you cant use a lighter for this with out burning everything, then use hot water! *lol* the lighter works, just pay attention while you do it. My point is* dont make it more complicated than it is.
Indeed. I know you're just joking around, but I really think using the right tool for the job makes sense. Polyolefin heat shrink needs a minimum of 90 degrees C to shrink, just below the boiling point of water. Many of them require 110C or more to shrink. Hot water's not a credible method, and suggesting that people soak their balsa in water isn't a lot better than suggesting that they light it on fire. For those beginners that aren't too sure - yes, you can use a lighter. If you can afford it, get the right tool for the job. A heat gun gives you precise control of temperature, and control over the level of heating. There's a reason that every competent technician and engineer has a heat gun in their toolbox. If you're serious about this stuff, get one!
i spend my money on flying. and you still dont get it. all that i am saying is that you dont have to go out and buy a whole tool boox. just use stuff that works. you just gave the temperatures that is needed. then what ever way people obtain this temperature is up to them. you dont need a heatgun in your tool box, but if the misses has a good hair dryer, most likely it can do the job.
I see where your coming from Jakoba i watched a guy use a lighter on youtube with ease and i do like to be creative to save money but like Crawdad i just love tools lol I like havin a tool for everything job..an obsession maybe:) ANway the lighter method will do till i get my hands on a heatgun :D and if peeps can live without a heatgun then youve given them a cheap solution. ANyone know the temp resist of the casing around the wiring itself?
try your wifes hair dryer it works perfet not to hot takes a minute but does great job ive used one on fifty plus planes aileron joints esc's batterys and so on. use low setting if you going to be near epo or depron but epp is fine on high.
I crash so often that one day a servo might be on Rudder and then next day it might be on Aileron. Maybe a velcro wrap would be more economical. LOL
But if an airplane lasts more than a day, who needs labels? Everything is already plugged in and working. . .
Why would you change the position of a servo use the same servo location in the new plane. Or learn how to fly and you will not have to worry about renaming tags, therefore the tag naming convention is valid.
Well, so let's be clear here - labels don't do anything to make your plane fly better. They're for those of us that really like a nice, clean installation. I know that's not for everyone, but some of us like it. Clearly, if you trash your planes quicker than you fiddle with the servo cables, this is a total waste of time. Humor us. After all, we tolerate people like you. :-)
I was humoring you. You didn't get it. I have 51 years of practice. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now. I think I might get around to labeling my 15 year old USRA Giant Scale Race plane any day now. Personally, I like colored masking tape. One size fits all. It also works well for holding those connectors together for those 24G turns. *-)
Pardon me, I'm so foolish to have been taken in. I should have known from the content of your posting that you were someone to be respected. I beg your forgiveness. I feel so ashamed of myself. I can only say that I was trying to help. What a fool I am!
Yeah but it's not really for looks is it Tarmo,it's just so we know what wire is for what servo and so on,plus who's going to see it when the servo wires are all tucked away, but i guess they could of made it in different sizes to make everyone happy.
how about seperate products pr text, so you could buy 1 pack of throttle markings, 1 pack of rudder and so on, so you could buy just what you needed, and not end up with 20 aux labels that you dont need.
That's a brilliant idea - as that way you will get more of the ones you need - like aileron and gear but each customer could then work it out for themselves - would also be a good business plan for Hobbyking as most customers would want at least 5 channel labels so they instantly sell at least 5 meters.
That doesn't make any sense at all! If you're getting throttle and rudder mixed up now how the hell isn't having them actualy labled as THROTTLE. RUDDER. Not better than your current system. Here's an idea for you. If you'd rather use numbered tags, do that and bugger off from commenting negatively here on a product you've made clear you don't want. ESPECIALY when you don't even make sense!
I think what he's getting at is that both have numbered receivers but different number combinations on the reciever for the channels so if a particular model is using only one or other system the number would help get them in the correct slot - I am used to the futaba numbers and have recently moved to $pektrum which is different but thankfully is labeled not numbered
That makes a bit more sense to me now. There's nothing to stop him doing that himself if he needs. I guess he just meant to suggest they make numbered tags as well as these and just worded it badly. I don't see these as something to use during a build, I think their main purpose is for putting your plane together at the field after transporting it where you're usualy plugging into extensions and usualy not going near the receiver.
p51p51 yes yes yes the way it is is fine. The fact they have done it for us is great. Come on it cost to bring any product to market. So let us support and buy. Would you buy lot more if it was a different colour??
It would be nice if they added "PITCH" for helicopters, as well. AIL, PIT, ELV, RUD, GAIN, THRO, would be what people with helicopters would use most. I also like the idea of black on yellow.
Huh? The Yellow Pages are yellow because if the pages were Red it would be a stupid name to call them the Yellow Pages! LOL. The guy that came up with the name should have just called it The Phonebook, and then they could use any colours they want from then on!
Oh no! It looks like every newspaper and book ever written will have to be re done in black and yellow because that's better for visibility. The yellow pages are yellow to differentiate them from the white pages, that's all.
In my opinion it wouldbe better to have these labes as "ch1", "ch2" .... so that we can use them for any kind of controls even if it's not named in the label.
Yeah, that is a better idea. Or even better, seeing it is on a length, with repetition no doubt, they could have had what they have AND have Ch1 Ch2 etc so you can pair up what you want - if you want both labels. Or, just use the ones you want.
I too agree with channels numbering instead of AIL, THR etc. I also suggest to take it a step further, and ommit the "ch" letters, and just keep the numbers (0 to 8 or 12). This would allow for bigger font to be used, so it is more visible. What I do up to now is use a white permanent marker and write the channel number on the flat side of the servo connector. Heat shrink looks better though!
tx producers like futaba puts these sticker on new radio sets years ago.But stickers not enough for more than one plane and also wont stick well too. That a good idea and ill buy more in my nearest order.
This is a great product i only wish it came out sooner very easy to use just cut and slip on and use your covering heat gun to shrink it great job HK. Thank you.
