Sukhoi SU-35 Twin 70mm Super Scale EDF Jet w/Thrust Vectoring 1080mm (PNF) (USA Warehouse)

The Sukhoi SU-35 is a single-seat, twin-engine super maneuverable multirole fighter. In the 1980s, Sukhoi was looking to upgrade its high-performance SU-27. The resultant SU-35 embodies aerodynamic refinements to give it more maneuverability, greatly enhanced avionics, longer range, and a more powerful engine. The first prototype, converted from a production SU-27, made its maiden flight in June 1988.

This highly scale twin 70mm EDF model embodies all of the performance and good looks of the real SU-35 aircraft. With its brilliant military paint scheme, detailed pilot and scale decals, this famous fighter jet really looks the part!

With features such as electronic servoless retracts, functional nose-wheel gear doors, all-moving tail plane, working rudders and 360° thrust vectoring, this model has everything you could ask for and more! It even features removable bolt-on wings & vertical stabs making transportation/storage a breeze.

Powered by twin 70mm fan units with 2300kv motors, 55A ESCs and 6S lipoly, the SU-35 has greater than a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio allowing for the most radical of flight maneuvers!

This twin 70mm SU-35 arrives in PNF form, so all that is needed is to add your own 6ch TX/RX and a 6S 3700~4000mAh lipoly to be in the air!

Features:
Powerful 6S twin 70mm EDF system pre-installed
Expertly painted highly detailed color scheme
Removable bolt-on wings/vertical stabs
Full 360° thrust vectoring
Electronic servoless retracts
Functional nose-wheel gear doors
All-moving tail plane
Working rudders

Hook this to FPV camera 1 kilometer. hook up solar panels and drive all day while chargin ur battery. and stop feeling like you will be ran over by a 100 mph car or being hit with a airplane at 150 mph. feels bad when you wreck them affter a while of not running. so lower the risk of anything. also be able to go out of county with the right antennas. you find them message me. say your rc vehicle is 1/10 speed run and you stand in the center of the road waiting for the flyby at 120 mph wrecks and hits you. can not run can you at the speed the cars coming. so get Fpv camera stay away from the speed maybe you wont be in the er with a airplane in your head or chest. or with the rc car/truck breaking your legs whoops there went my leg and knee down the street.

Are the 5.4 bullet connectors good enough for this?
 tommy2toes 2087 points

I have a lot of these packs and would be nice use them instead of purchasing more. So the questions would be if functional, if anything extra would be required and also would both battery packs fit? Thanks.

Does anyone know what battery connection is needed?

Hi, do you think that I can use a 6S 22.2V 5500mah 25C (845 grs) battery to fly this plane?
 Jordan 41 points
Yes you can use that battery, but a higher C pack will give you more punch if you plan on doing a lot of 3D maneuvers.
 Youhaan 69 points
yess, it is anyways tail heavy with a 4000mah. with a little cutting it will fit
Kent  1 points - 2/10/2013

What is the biggest battery I can fit in this plane?
 TaterTotDW 197 points
I use a 6S 6000mah battery which is bigger than what Hobbyking recommends but it works just fine. I chose the battery because the flight times are only about 3 minutes with the recommended set up. There is still plenty of room to go bigger!

Looking at the listed specks for the provided motor from HK. 2849-2300KV x 2 So is the motors 2849 or 2300KV?
 Diesel6401 19 points
You answered your own question 2300kv.

2849 is the motor size.

How do I shut off the thrust vectoring on this jet? I dont plan on useing it THANKS!
 H-KING_SCOTT 5161 points
Assign the mixes to a switch on your radio is one way, or simply glue them up would be the drastic way...which you may regret later.

Hi I have the su-35,,,, my first few flights I used some pink insulation foam to lock the nozzles. u could even use a piece of foam the plane was packed in. cut a piece and shape it to fit between the end of the fuselage and the foam nozzle. I used the snot glue to hold it in place, knowing I could remove them later on.... which i did ..... great plane

When will they have more 5000mAh 60C lippos in the U.S. stock? I wish to buy this jet but I want this battery as it looks to be the best choice for this plane. I may even buy 2 of these batteries
goldsworthy  33 points - 12/25/2012

No star ratings on this jet? Some report only 3 minuite flight times? Is this model good or not?
 Buddy1065 29 points
This is one of the best models I have ever owned and is easy to fly as long as thrust vectoring is not engaged on take off for those not used to it. It is not EPO foam and although the finish is excellent to the point it looks like painted fiberglass it gets scratched easily. I do three minute flights with a 5000mAh 60C battery to be safe doing fast passes and other maneuvers. I would give this jet five stars easily because it is so easy to build and solidly built and has great air maneuverability.

Reading all the reviews this jet sounds real good! I guess you have to order 2 of them at the same time. This way you will have some extra parts

HK, you need to include options other than UPS to Toronto. The freight on this plane is $217 whereas the same model and freight via USPS from BH is $55 ...

how fast do you think this plane can get up to?
 rampage-1 148 points
The question should be -does it fly for 2 minutes or 4 minutes with two EDF's.
 Buddy1065 29 points
I usually fly 3 minutes with one 5000mAh 6S battery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DHVAfjJw64
 Buddy1065 29 points
Keep in mind I set the timer for 3 minutes and usually take up 30 more seconds to a minute to land if I take two approaches due to wind, etc. Even at that the battery registers about 22 volts after I land. Fully charged it is 25.2 volts.

Can it be hand launchedÉ*
 bryant 5 points
I doubt it could be hand launched. Its a pretty big aircraft. However if you were creative, you could probably bungie launch it by hand.
 Raleigh1boy 7 points
While the instructions say hand launching is possible my limited flying of the jet suggests it would be possible only with difficulty. I would use the lightest recommended battery, possibly remove the landing gear to save weight and launch it down a slope. Regards.

 2xWhiskey 45 points
The instructions say to enhance the 3D capabilities, remove the landing gear system to save weight and that the thrust to weight ratio is good enough for hand launching.
 bert 10 points
i wouldn't recomend hand launching due to it's size and weight. this is similar to the lx mig-29. i built a bungee launcher and a hook just after the nose gear and launched her sucessfully many times.

Lol total with shipping its cheaper to ship the international one from China $360 than the us one just a few cities away from me, $380

u pay for the faster delivery time for ordering from us warehouse....they do local pick up in hong kong and now the euro warehouse....keep bringing it up and they'd probably start doing for the us warehouse!

 QueadlunnRau 40 points
Local pickup would be awesome! I do admit, the us warehouse seems to package things better, like a real outside box and not just the planes box inverted.
 sorenlaf 92 points
I think if you put it in the cart and go through checkout, you'll find the shipping is about $15-$25. $100 shipping is only from HK.

Looks nice, wish I lived in the USA!
 Buddy1065 29 points
Little worry about shipping damage as the packaging is STONG with sturdy styrofoam foundation box. Highly recommend lowering the elevator movement of the vector thrust nozzles to 40% on maiden if this is your first vector thrust or don't use VT at all on maiden take off. Otherwise an excellent choice. You may want to make sure landing gear are oiled as a wheel froze and came off during a landing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7txpKsaolO0
