Hi all I have finally given up on these esc's all four are going back to hk, they have a dead zone at about between 60 and 70% throttle , all good upto 70% then throttle reduces on it's own then speeds up to full.
I will replace these with skywalker 60 amp won't trust hk again.
Hi I have 4 of these on my quad with a kk2 board v1.5 , the problem i'm getting is "this is with esc connected direct to rx "spektrum" it calibrates ok but when you throttle up it gets to about 1/2 throttle then the motor slows"ntm 35-42 1000kv" then speeds back up to full throttle? all four esc do it , tested all four motors too all doing the same. HELP HELP I'M GOING MAD?????????? BIG THANKS
hi all I have another question for any experts out there , I
have 4 ae-65 "programmed correctly" all four shut down on full throttle running ntm 35 42 motors and 13x6.5 props are they going into lvc or over heat protection ? I have had to trim throttle to 35% to stop it am I pulling too many amps?
any answers would be great ps using 5000mah 35c 50c nano tech
installed it on the plane today. along with g32 motor. and nanoteh 2250 3s.
when initially set. it did not power up the receiver at all, tried and many times and then checked it with a spare Rx pack. the BEC did not work.
after a few tries it did start powering up the Rx and was no issue there.. then started a different issue, without prop when i ran the motor as soon as i reached full throttle the power to Rx got cut off... ran it for 1 mins at around 90% throttle
now added a prop. MA14X6 .. same problem .. at full throttle the Rx switches off. running at 90%for the next 3 mins. now the batt voltage is around 10.5V.. but now the Rx switches off at 50% throttle.
any programming fault..?? or any help on how i can solve this...??
the problem has been showed to the tech support... seems that i have received a faulty piece. i have got a refund for the same... thats y i like HK...!
It's hard to say, Plush line is the one that has more positive reviews, although it has a common visual appearance. The important is to read the discussions and make sure your application has reference to someone using the chosen type successfully. You should always look to buy an ESC of a type that you already has the programming card, thus saving some money.
Hi Logan
If you have set the ESC back to its original default settings, I think you FRIST need to set the ESC throttle high point.
(1) Switch on TX - Throttle at 0% Sub Trim -0% as before.
(2) Move TX Throttle to 100% MAX
(3) NOW Power up the ESC wait for beeps
(4) Move TX Throttle to 0% Lowest
You should be able to program the ESC as normal now using the TX, they are not difficult to program, sometimes you just need a clear head, all those beeps, can get a bit confusing..
Am working from memory here, as am not at home.
DO NOT GIVE UP HA HA HA
Good luck - Chris
unfortunately, i tried to reset to default values (beep-beep-beep-B)it did not work again. It keeps looping. About to give it up. Do you think the program card will help? Thanks.
Hi Logan
Have you set your Throttle TRIM as LOW as it will go.
Not just the Throttle Stick but the Trim Switch next to it
Some ESC will not set unless you do so.
Hope this helps.
I tried to set up my ESC with this EDF 1750 brushless motor, of course, used with 6s Lipo but it does not work. Here are steps that I did: 1)set the throttle position to the bottom (FUTABA Skysport6) 2)power on the emitter 3) hook up the battery I heard a series of sound groups (1 thru 14) and it keeps looping even though I turned the throttle back at UP position after the #14 group beefs (EXIT). I've tried a second ESC, but the same result. Can someone help me to diaanose this problem? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
It's a little big and bulky for it, over kill too, I use this for my eflite beaver. Get something like 40-50A , like hobbywing or something, I use hobbywing 40 for my 450
In the reviews Loydta states he/she is running this in his/her 450 and I am planning on putting this in my HK450 SE V2, I've measured and it will be tight. I don't know about the canopy size of the pro but I'll let you know how tight it is.
I'm not sure how much room is in the Pro, I haven't seen one, but with the V2 there was enough room to fit it into the tray below the battery. It is a tight fight and could be side frame mounted, but I wanted a cleaner look. I used RTV sealant and went around the motor leads sparingly just to give them a bit of reinforcent where they exit the controller and gently folded them back on top of the controller it's self, zip tied them, and routing the wiring was a breeze from there. I use a Canomod Canopy, but the original "milk jug" fit fine also... Hope this helps.
*faizshah,
The fit is tight but with loydta's info it fits. I was worried about the balance because I have chosen to place it upfront and below the battery. I've got 2 zippy flight max 2200's and 2 turnigy nano tech 2200's and with the milk jug canopy it balances, but just. I've got a couple of pict's I'll try and upload.
As long as the amp draw of your motor is not higher than 55 amps it will never get hot to the touch. Or if you never draw more than 65 amps for longer than 10 seconds straight it should hold up. They do sell a 80 amp version of this esc if you do think you are going to exceed its rating. You can test your amp draw on a test bench by putting a watt meter inline to see the power your motor is pulling to verify power requirements needed.
Well, got my first few in recently, and have done a bit of testing and put it in a 51' Sabre X from Value Hobby. Seems to be the same reliable unit as the 45A - exceptional throttle range and response, all the exact same wide list of easy tx programmables, and no heat to speak of at all. EXTREMELY pleased, and now I see there's an 80A, that I've just ordered. I just can't believe how many guys are still stuck on the old dinosaur Plush, Sentry, Hobbywing Pentium, etc. Although, guess it does help keep the price down.
A number of us have been using the 45a for some time, and it's ad and label have the same conflict. All of us believe it is indeed an SBEC, as it never seems to get hot.
Yeah I wanted to know the same thing. I think HK just "cuts and pastes" some product info. I would believe what the ESC says on it. I just ordered so I will post info.
I made the order a few days ago but it is still proseccing? Most of my orders latley have been relatively quick in "HK time"?? It's just an ESC, put it in the box and ship it already!!! Yeah I have read a few positive things about the AE ESC's. This 65 must have been added recently because I see no reviews?? Anybody know anytthing else about them I would like to hear about it.
This is an awesome speed control! In fact I bought a second one. I love the ultra soft start mode. makes it look really really slick for scale heli flight. Never gets warm even with 600 watt motors. the wiring is really top notch good heavy gauge. It's easy to program with a transmitter so you don't even need a programming card. It has an exceptionally smooth throttle response. Any other questions?

Well I just picked up at the post-office today. It seems to be a high quality ESC. It does not have a linear BEC, it's switched. It has about 14 differant programing options. It is a little bigger than I thought but it will fit. I will give an update once I have it installed, but I will say it is worth $31 for SURE!

i installed this into the trex 500 (hobbyking) i was surprised that i could not program it with a turnigy program card but it was simple enough with the transmitter to program.
It cant handle a few minutes of low hovering without cutting out and it drops from the sky when you give it kick ,i know its cheap but there are cheaper units around that actually work , it looks great in pictures but its all plastic not aluminium as it looks like.
It would be a fine unit if it worked ,
