HobbyKing X666 Glass Fiber Quadcopter Frame 666mm

HobbyKing X666 Glass Fiber Quadcopter Frame 666mm
HobbyKing X666 Glass Fiber Quadcopter Frame 666mm

The HobbyKing X666 quadcopter frame is a high quality glass fiber frame that offers both great looks and performance. Built from light weight yet extremely rigid glass fiber and aluminum, the X666 offers a great combination of weight savings and strength.

The X666's aggressive styling makes it look just as sinister as its name, while still offering excellent functionality and performance!

This frame is based on the popular X525 V3 design, but features extended arm lengths of 666mm. This is a Hobbyking exclusive which means you will not find it anywhere else!

The X666 features a very nicely finished glass fiber main frame, shock-absorbing landing legs and folding aluminum arms. It also includes 3 silver arms and 2 black (5pcs total) so you can change them based on flying in + or X configuration for orientation. The shock-absorbing landing legs are a great feature to handle those rough landings that we all have from time to time.

We also offer a full line of multi-rotor electronics such as multi-rotor control board, ESC, motors and more, so it has never been easier or more affordable to get a quad in the air!

All necessary hardware is included.

how high does the frame sit off the ground with the landing gear, and i have seen some photos with additional top plates. what are those?
Kyle  21 points - 4/19/2015
Had the frame for a while and its great. Has fell from tree high and only broke the landing gear and motor mounts. There are aluminum motor mounts on eBay and they work great.

Hey, Should I use theadlock on any of the bolts in this kit?
 Adder29 8 points
Yes, I used threadlock on all the bolts except for the motor. If you want to be able to fold the frame, then maybe leave it off the bolts that connect the limbs to the frame. Though it's always a good idea to check the whole craft over as part of your pre-flight anyway.

Hi. I need a gimbal for my X666? Which will serve best for him ?
 Adder29 8 points
Did you have any luck finding one? This is something i'll be looking into soon.

Is it possible to use 35xx motor (or bigger) with this frame?
 Bret 12 points
I used these (item# D2217-9-950) they worked like a dream. I dont see why that size would not work. Might be over-kill but could work.

I just receive this frame yesterday, well build, no instructions, i use the instructions of the 525 frame it looks the same. the screws are good, but only have 4 nylon screws to mount the Control Board, if you have to mount the Hobby King Quadcopter Power Distribution Board its is a little dificult because of the space. I put one above the other lets see if there is no vibration. This frame have 2 arms paint black to indicate the front but this color is not very good for, i will paint in orange later and put a green propeller for better orientation.

Just got this frame in yesterday, very nice frame for the price. All the materials are of good quality, all holes line up correctly, and the hardware is very nice. I had no issues with assembly. This thing is huge!! I had a v1 talon and the x666 is a monster compared. I was going to try to fab my own quad, but with the x666 being only $24 why bother ;)

Very nice frame. Easy assembly, Used the HK i86, Turnigy 28-30-750kv, HK blue 12A ESC, FlightMax 3s1p 2200 20C, 10x6 GWS clone props, FrSky TFR6 FASST 2.4ghz. Had to extend the ESC power wires. Board/ESC setup took a bit of reading but not too difficult. Still tuning the board but it flies fine. about 6 minutes per battery in windy conditions.
