D-MG16 Metal Gear 2.9kg/.08sec/18.8g (USA Warehouse)

Our new favourite servo. The D-MG16 packs a high-torque punch while weighing less than 20g!
Excellent for park-flyers.
The D-MG16 is a very popular item in Korea and Japan, due mainly to its high torque, small size and precision movement.

After waiting well over 4 months now, it's fair to ask...... Will these EVER be stocked in the USA again?

How right you are! Altho, dreams may be a bit too extreme in expression..... Still. Very happy to get em back!

I put in my E-Flite F-86 driving the two elevator pushrods. The pushrods have some resistance and wanted to put something powerful to drive them. This servo works great. Contrary to other reviews, it centers beautifully. It's only been flown 2 times so only time will tell how reliable.

Model: D-MG16 Servo
It does not specifically indicate digital or analog. Which is it???
 Orcasea 13 points
Definitely digital. I don't know why they don't make this clear. It is Hextronic and you can look external reviews for the Hextronik D-MG14

It's fast and mostly accurate, and very inexpensive. The reason for the low rating is that while it worked great in foamies, such as my Carbon Z Yak, it is is having a really hard time in my 3dhs Slick 51. On the Ailerons, so far, works great. On the pull pull rudder the servo seems to struggle to recenter itself accurately. On the elevator, it goes into spasm, fluttering the elevator each time I move the stick to quickly. It seems to be having a hard time with the larger control surface, it's almost like the Digital part of the servo which constantly tries to check its position accuracy gets really confused with the feedback from the larger surface. I tried two different D-MG16 servos on the Elevator and both did the same thing.

Ordered 8 of these servos. 7 worked just great. Smooth, tight, and fast response. Centers very well. I am flying 4 of these on a HobbyKing EPP Yak 55.
1 of these D-MG16 Metal Gear Digital Servos was dead of arrival. At these prices though, 7 good out of 8 is not bad. I star down for the dead servo.
