You know I bought from the USA warehouse so I would get my order faster, so why did my order take 2.5 days to get packed and shipped out after it was at the warehouse? Now tracking says it will get here in 7 days................

Does anyone know what the max charge rate is for Storage mode? I have 5000mah 4S Lipos and my current charger only storage charges at 1A. This makes storage mode impossible for all 6 packs. Takes about 10 hours per pack... I really need at least 5A IN STORAGE MODE.
dont use storage mode just charge them to 3.8 per cell and shut off the charger no big deal thats how i have done all my lipos forever and never had a problem, if you are putting them on a charger and walking away you are making a mistake anyway! take it from someone who has had a lipo fire while on the charger always stay with the charger
So today twice already while charging batteries the screen goes blank. Pressing some buttons makes the screen show up with what appears to be garbles chinese characters. Power cycle is the only solution. Is this unit defective?
So I just charged 4 x 3S Lipo batteries with a Parallel board, balanced, at 1C (2.2A ea, 8.8A total * 11.1V) and the charged batteries end up at only 12.56V. About 4.18 per cell or so. Is this normal? My other charger took single batteries to exactly 4.2V per cell, 12.6V total.
is that as soon as the charger shuts down? if so then no it is not normal but if the batts have sat a little while after charging a worn battery will drop voltage a little
Can someone tell me what the 'Charging Capacity' number on the digital display means? This shows up when charging, and increases in value as the charge progresses.
that is how many mah the charger has currently put in the battery, this also aids in checking if your lvc is in the right spot, if you have to put more than the rated capacity back in the battery you need to raise your lvc a little

Storage voltage
Previous chargers from HK have always set the storage voltage to 3.85 volts/cell. The new Mega 400w charger, v2, sets the storage voltage to 3.8 volts/cell. Is there a reason for the lower storage voltage or should I change it? If I need to change it, how do I make the change?
Recommended storage voltage is 3.9~3.7 VPC(Volts per cell), so most chargers put the batteries at the high side of that so they're quicker to charge when you are ready to use them. 3.8VPC is fine for storage.
This is an awesome charger! I use a 12v Dell 500watt power supply and I charge 6x 3s 2200mah at 20 amps. What's really nice is the menu is exactly like the accucel-6 and I'm familiar with the accucel-6 so, very very nice plus.
When you parallel charge using this charger, is the parallel board really charging each batteries individual cells, or is the board seeing the ENTIRE battery as a single cell? I've read that hooking 6 batteris in parallel makes the charger see a 6S battery where each battery is a cell? Trying to figure out before i start parallel charging with this charger. Thanks!! dont want Lipo fires :(
Brian,
when balance parallel charge 6x 3s 2200mah via board, the charger will still see a single 3S, but will basically be charging a 13,200 mah Lipo, and will also balance the cells. This works because when you parallel lipos together they magically equalize. i.e Take a 12.6v 3S Lipo and plug it into the board with a 11.8v 3S Lipo. Leave for say 30sec... now take out and measure the Lipos. they'll be closer to 12v
gotcha thanks. Also how do you personally get your lipos to their "like" charge states prior to charging? Its stated that prior to parallel charging your batteries should all be the same voltage, otherwise you can cause fire or severe battery damage (as the higher lipo will shove voltage into the lowest lipo at a fast rate). Curious how you get them to be exact prior to starting parallel charging process. Thanks again!!!
Not fully charging packs
Received my charger last night, started running packs through it. I am running Turnigy Nano-Tech 3S 2200 45-90c (10C charge), charging at 16A from a 12V battery. seemed to work well but when it reports pack is full the total pack voltage read with a multimeter is only 12.2V. I have not tried to charge slower yet to see if there is a difference.
its because you are charging off a 12v battery that is probably a lead acid battery and the max charge on that battery 12.4 and with a load its going to be more like the 12.2 that you are ending up with, you cant put more voltage into one pack than the supply battery can supply
Im finding that my charger is charging under .5v per cell. I've compared a few packs to my multi meter and cell checker and both of these are telling me that my Mega 400 is not fully charging the packs. Is there a way to crack open the case and calibrate it?
I have a few high end and low end chargers. This one works as good as the best one I have, which is this one. Its the largest and fastest charger. I run it with a turnigy 60 amp power supply. which is way overkill, but i want to run 3 of these at max output at any one time on it. Point is... it is exactly the same as any other charger I have as far as the functions. Download the venom pro manual.
This charger would work great for your battery...I charge mine at the field and home with a deep cycle battery operating the charger has been flawless... I can fly while one battery is on the charger... You will not be disappointed.
This charger is great for any battery 6S and under. Its got plenty of power (400 watts of powa!) and a nice rate of 20Amps. This charger is best served with the parallel charging board so you can charge multiple packs fast!
Just download or view the Venom Pro charger manual. its exactly the same. Actually, all of these 4 button chargers are pretty much the same. The manual for the venom will tell you nickel mh and cadmium battery high and low voltages, and all the lithium high and low voltages, which is all i look at the book for. But when I use the 400 turnigy i always look at the venom book for stats. Which are for all batteries in general.
This charger has been GREAT! 400watts of power and 20 amp charge rate. will charge a 2200 3c in under 10 minutes. has a lot of nice features all the big chargers have. lipo balance, storage, fast charge, discharge... also able to charge nimh, nicad just about all of your hobby charging needs in one charger...

I have had this charger for 6 months. It has flawlessly charged all my 4S and 6S batteries at 1-4C, depending on my needs at the time. I have run it hundreds of time so far;
I REALLY like this charger- it has been fantastic!

Initial review is four thumbs up from me! I bought this massive charger to use with a parallel charging board to charge multiples at one time. With a 20 amp charge rate its very possible. I charged 4 2200 3S packs in balance @ 16 amps with no issue. Balanced out the packs well. My old charger couldnt balance packs properly- over an hour for one pack and it still wasnt balanced... This charger- NO ISSUE.
Excellent charger. The cycle took a bit to figure out. You have to set the manual charge and discharge setting then go to cycle to get a semi fast cycle. If you don't really need more than 10 amps to charge I would go with the 200x2 duo charger. I've not gone past 13.3 amps in fear of something going up in smoke.

Smokin' fast charger! Well built, nice finish. Be sure to acquire an adequate power supply. (500w, 11-18v) but does fine with a 300w 12vcomputer psu. Can get a lot more from it with a larger psu.
Would be nice if it came with an owners manual, but easy enough to figure out. No deans adapter, but comes with a blank lead so a deans plug can be made up quickly
Very pleased with this and all purchases from Hobby King! Fast shipping, great selection!
Thank you,
Steve
