A super stable sports flyer in a micro package! The Durafly Rare Bear Micro 400mm comes 90% assembled right out of the box and can be ready to fly in just minutes.

The lightweight construction of this model, coupled with a proven airframe design gives this model a locked in feel while performing aerobatics, long smooth knife edge flight is a breeze. Many models of this size are often limited by linear servos or cheap components, but not the Bear! featuring pre-installed, fully proportional HK-5320 Digital servos, a Turnigy ESC and an AP05-3000kv brushless motor The build quality is just fantastic. Fully hinged ailerons are another example of why the bear stands out from the crowd. This is a fast model to put together, the motor and ESC are pre-installed, leaving you to glue on the wing and cowl then go and fly!

Performance is of course what this model is all about and this Bear is no slouch! Power is delivered courtesy of the powerful Turnigy Brushless motor running on 2s, for reliability a Turnigy ESC is pre-fitted and the servo/ESC connectors are all compatible with the 4 Channel Orange Micro RX (R415). Just got my Rare Bear! I am running with 250mAh 2s and had to add a bunch of weight to the front of the plane to get the COG right. Here is a quick video of my maiden flight. I think I am going to reduce the throws on my ailerons some it is very responsive.

Does anyone know what holds the prop spinner in place? It will need to come off in order to swap props. I pulled as hard as I dare and it didn't even look like it was going to move.

i think thars a nut under the spiner
 msgt81 41 points
There is a nut under the spinner but, the spinner has to be removed before the nut is exposed. I ended up cutting the spinner off of the plane. it appeared to be glued to a black plastic ring that is installed behind the prop.I can't see any other way to get it off when needed except to cut it off.

msgt81 you have to be kidding. So every time you break a prop you need a new spinner. We need to come up with a better setup than that.
 msgt81 41 points
Apparently there are not any replacement spinners or the black disc that the spinner attaches to. In the other warehouse, it was suggested that the spinner could be removed by inserting a scalpel and cutting the glue loose in order to remove the spinner. Unfortunately, I had already removed mine, damaging it in the process.

msgt81 great news. The International Warehouse has the spinner. Only 84 cents. Here is the info PRODUCT ID: 9310000041 Rare Bear Micro - Replacement Spinner. You will find it in the Global listing under: Planes ARF,RTF,KIT > Replacement Parts. I hope this helps.

this little rarebit is awesome, it had very minor scratches on the wings but other than that was flawless still don’t know what the whole disclaimer is about full throttle for only 20-30 sec think it’s to do with the motor, prop, or esc. Flies great watch out for more than a light breeze though over all I’m happy with the purchase

I Just received this yesterday from the US warehouse. I have not flown it yet, but right out of the box I can tell it is 1000pcnt more robust than any of the common 'micro' airplanes out there. (and I own a number of them!) The wing is solid and well built (with real servos) and the fuselage is just as solid and durable. The plane even has 'real' landing gear that actually spring. From a price perspective compared the the leading micro competition, this plane wins hands down. For $70 for the plane, $10 for the micro RX receiver and another $10 for a few batteries you get a FAR better airplane than what's currently out there in this category. Most micros equipped with brushless motors running 2C are selling for around $150 and they are nowhere this tough looking. This plane does require some knowledge of RC as it is not 'bind and fly' and requires you to install your own receiver, but if you already have a few other models, this plane is a great value.

My only minor complaints are that the micro Orange Rx receivers are not available from the US warehouse so I have to wait a month before I can get this thing in the air as I have no intention of resoldering all of the servo connections. It would also be great if spare parts were available from the US warehouse.

Other than these minor complaints, this plane looks like it's awesome. From what I have seen, it flies as goo

What an awesome little park flyer! It is not quite ballistic, or capable of unlimited vertical, but the roll-rate is great, and it loops, snaps and flies around inverted with ease. I run it with a 2s 370mah nanotech, which balances it out perfectly. I'm not sure that you could get it to balance with the recommended 180mah pack without adding some lead, and I'd rather get the extra flight time from the bigger battery. Fit and finish is adequate. Gaps in control surfaces are a bit larger than I'd like. It is so small and cute. Everyone oohs and ahs over it. You can keep it in your office or car for a quick lunchtime flight. Just what I was hoping for!

I can't fly mine yet because the battery I got has the wrong plug on it ,It needs 2 Pin JST. None of the 180 ma battery's have the 2 pin JST plugs on them.

A decent plane for the money. Can be pretty fidgety in the air. Overall the build quality is excellent with the hinged control surfaces, non-linear servos, and well molded EPO frame. The weak point is definitely the motor. First time I had it out I nosed it in, but not too hard, and the motor developed a rattle that didn't have any effect on flight. The second time I had it out a repeat crash occurred, and the outrunner separated from the rest of the motor. I may try to put a new motor in it. Fun to fly when it works.
