The Turnigy nano-tech round single cell series are the perfect solution for many applications where space and weight are at a premium. These round Lipoly Cells can be soldered together to make compact RX packs for instance in a configuration and capacity that is perfectly suited to your application while giving you the peace of mind of nano-tech performance
More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve.
The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries; -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
* NOTE: Only cells of the same make and capacity should be connected, also only ever connect multiple new cells, never old and new.
I would like to connect these batteries in series to make a 3S battery. Can they be soldered together? Is there any special way they must be connected?
To solder you should be able to solder very accurate with a thin soldering tip. The connecting straps are very small and thin. They could not be moved very often because they can break very easy.
Meanwhile I wonder if the connecting straps would bear 15 Amps.
well it works fine in the kysho miniz. buy three and you will have a rocket of a car. I may correctly remember that the micro t uses a flat battery. Looks like you have a lot of serching hobbykings website. good luck
Sure you can, just need a Voltage Booster, with this you can get 5v for the receiver, increasing only 2,9 gr.
This battery is 3,7v, within the range for the voltage booster (3,2v-4,2v) adding this you obtain 5V, allowing you to use a receiver on a single cell lipo with a little more than 20gr. I´ll buy a couple for my www.link
I have bouht one V-Booster from HK , ( 1 year ago ) very small and efficient : it gives 5V with a single LiPo element . But don't drain more than 150 mA . It's ok for a small indoor. It was made for that.
Very light battery because
they use thinnest plastic hose instead of shrink tube.
very small and thin connectors for soldering.
Good is the weight (see above) and the costs.
I wonder how the thin connectors will bear 15C = 15 Amps?

For shure a great price and very low weight. Capacity will not be more than 590 mAh even after some charging/discarging circles. But its ok.
Soldering is a little bit tricky because the pins are very thin an small.
Finally the price and the low weight recommands this cells
