The Zlin-42 is a Czech built tandem seat trainer that is used for VFR training, basic instrument training and also as a glider tug, the type also saw service with former Eastern Bloc airforces as a trainer. The Zlin-42 was also used as a basic aerobatic trainer and even saw some combat in Sri Lanka!

This is a nicely built and hugely practical, real world, every day sport fly model that will last for years. The robust tricycle under-carriage makes the Zlin 42 easy to handle on the ground and capable of handling almost any strip. The removable 2 pc plug in wing makes for easy transportation and fast field assembly, likewise, the massive canopy offers easy access and also makes the Zlin an ideal candidate for an electric conversion. The hardware is all top notch and includes a fuel tank and engine mount. The covering is first class and the colour scheme ideal for orientation.

The robust but lightweight construction of this model makes for an excellent sport fly model that will turn in a few aerobatic moves when you want it to, yet the generous size, thick wing & light wing loading gives you a model that is equaly happy flown slowly without getting out of shape. This is a nice size, real world sport fly model that can be enjoyed when all the hanger queens are tucked safely away and the fact that it can be built for real world money is a definate bonus!
