Has anyone measured or do you know the "average" amp draw of these? I have a bixler 2 I'm about to build. I boutat a HK 30 Amp ESC w/3amp BEC. So I was wondering if the 3amp BEC in the ESC could handle all the servos? 2 - Aileron, 2 Flaps, Rudder, Elevator, Pan/ Tilt. 8 servos total.
 riley 23 points
you will need a 6 amp bec but i would go bigger just to be safe. with a 3 amp bec you can run 5 micros pushing it and 4 would handle just fine but since you are running that many servos you will need a 6 amp minimum
Cornell  1 points - 5/10/2013

I'm new to RC and was wondering will these replace the flap servos in a 1100mm Corsair?? I can't seem to find which servo it has or the speed of it being a slow servo from what I have been reading around the forums. Thanks!
RC Roller  11 points - 4/11/2013

just burned up a second one of these today inflight? never had a problem with them until I started using 4s. wondering if that contributed? any one know the answer. thanks Rc Roller if you need to know it was the 64mm t-45 sold here I had the programming on the radio going just shy of full throw to keep it safe.
 shaggybirdman 37 points
are you using a separate bec if not i recommend using one. remove the red lead from your esc plug before the next flight. i set mine for 5v. i use turnegy bec's.

OK, cool. I live in eastern Oklahoma so it should maybe take 3-5 days, huh?
 Ross 1 points
In the middle of Missouri it takes between 2-4 days after it was ordered depending on how fast USPS is feeling that week. Usually HK's USA warehouse is fast so you can expect that.
Tristan  1 points - 4/5/2013

Thanks. I will likely order some of these soon.
Tristan  1 points - 4/4/2013

How long will it take to ship? It says "USA Warehouse", does that mean the servo is in USA?
 Noircogi 169 points
Items in-stock in the US warehouse (Kent Washington) normally ship in one day. It will probably take another 2-3 days to arrive at your house in the US.
 clough42 15 points
I live in Idaho, and items I order Sunday night ship USPS Priority on Monday and arrive Wednesday without fail.

These are great servos for the money and size very impressed I use them on all my 70mm jets
Victor  2 points - 2/1/2013

Are these good/strong enough to use for ailerons?Im adding some to my super cub by want to make sure.
 XRAYAIR 218 points
Sure are, they may twitch a little if you don't tune them right though.
 Cookieman0916 7 points
If I were you I would go with a metal gear of the same size. Cost a little more, but better than losing plane. How big is your cub?? Try to match the size of the elevator and rudder servo if not bigger! Happy flying
 hate2crash 13 points
the super cub he is referring to is most likely the parkzone brand, which is only about 1100mm wing span...so i would say from my experience these servos should be just fine... servos usually give you signs they are going to fail during pre flight check...I use these servos in a couple of my planes and they are rock solid for me...
 Dale 1 points
Victor, on a particularly bad crash w/my Super Cub (I was trying to do an outside loop and didn't have enough altitude) I ended up breaking the gears in my elevator servo. After replacing the fuselage (yes, the crash was that bad) I replace both servos w/this servo and even used these when I added ailerons. This servo works just fine for the Super Cub.
fly master  173 points - 1/28/2013

These things take a licking and keep on ticking. I put them thru the worst punishment .I have 6 grand kids and they all know how to fly thanks to HK . I have never had any problems with these servos .The kids have had there share of crashes and so have I and we keep on using them.Buy them and go out and Fly. Hope this helps
Robert  1 points - 1/23/2013

Thinking of using these to deploy parachutes etc on rockets. 14Gs for launches will be typical. Do these tend to survive crashes or come out in pieces?
 Koo29 230 points
These suckers survive almost everything. I've had quite a few crashes on my planes using these servos and never had any problems. Buy these while you can because they are going to run out of stock really soon in USA warehouse.

I agree with Koo. I have been amazed by the resiliency of these servos. I have been able to keep the tail of my PA Katana Mini very light by using these on the rudder/elevator. Until I have a major blowback issue or stripped gears, I'll continue to do so and save the weight of the metal gear servos.
 tractor 124 points
They have replacement gear sets for this at the HK global warehouse for 89 cents.
Lauschi  4 points - 1/11/2013

Did anybody check the speed on 6V? Do they work as cyclic on FBL?
 Lauschi 4 points
Sorry, as cyclic on HK250GT with FBL Head and ZYX.
 tractor 124 points
I use them for cyclic on my HK450 but a 5 volts I have found they sometimes get twichy at 6 volt.
Sheldon  2 points - 12/23/2012

Does the HXT900 have a plug or must I purchase one separately?
 John 69 points
It comes with the standard plug, you do not need to buy one.
Alexis  1 points - 11/29/2012

is it 180 degrees capable? it's important to me that it's capable of more than 100 degrees
 matthew 17 points
yes but you have to get into your programing options on your transmitter and program it to do that.

Are the HXT's stocked in the US warehouse the originial white gear versions? The new black gear versions are not nearly as good as the original white HXT900. They jitter, and are not nearly as smooth or as quiet.
 MayhemNKMC 153 points
I ordered 6 from the US warehouse and all were black gear. I hear they are stronger, you can get White gear sets for less then a dollar at the international warehouse.
 Ampdchaos 12 points
Mines been jittering too. Someone told me to try de-ox from radio shack to see if it will help. Haven't tried yet.
 Ampdchaos 12 points
Im using an external ubec and have lower the voltage to 5 from six and they seem eliminate the jitter.
 Benjamin 28 points
Yeah Amp, you were just running to much to these, they run best at 5.1v truly 6v should have toasted these but that's why they are great servos.
 matthew 17 points
my dont jitter. they have the white gears
Ampdchaos  12 points - 10/12/2012

Buy them now before **** sellers snatch them and resell at higher price!!

Will this be good to install on a copterx V2 pro 450 for cyclic? If not which one would be a good cyclic servo for the 450?
 AUTOROTATION 222 points
I have them installed in my 450 and they work perfect. HK sells the replacement gears online out of the international warehouse. They fit perfectly and have great torque and speed

Is the HXT 900 servo the same or better than the tower pro SG90?
 srt8madness 46 points
In a word, yes.
 fnocon 7719 points
kjbtooth. They are basically identical, but the best is HTX900

The HXT900 Is the BEST for sure. And you can't beat the price.
 Tyler 1 points
Do they come with servo arms?
 Egg Man 26 points
You can combine an HXT900 with a Hextronic MG-14 or Turnigy MG-90S) and make a metal gear HXT900 by swapping the gears and top cap from the donor servo to the HXT900. (you need the top cap because the ourput shaft on these two servos has a radial bearing)
 Brian 36 points
*Tyler, Yes they come with servo arms. 3 actually.

Great to finally get these in the US warehouse, thanks HK. I've purchased 30 of these and only had one with a problem. These are great servos that I regularly use and abuse. The gears can be purchased from the international warehouse and long control arms can be found from Dubro for those foamie applications. I regularly exceed their torque, stall them, crash them, and have only replaced a couple of gear sets from abuse. I highly recommend these guys.

I bought this for my rc18 associated truck. The end isnt even close to matching what goes in the truck. I dont know if there is a better one for my application but there was not alot to choose from in the us warehouse. The overall size was about 1mm to 2mm bigger than the original had to modify to make it fit. Seems like a strong fairly fast servo. I just would not reccommend for the associated 18th scale.

HXT 900 servos are an excellent substitution for Hitec HS-55's. I, personally, don't recommend the Hextronic servos for cyclic control in a heli; but, these servos will work if no other option is available. My main use for the HXT 900's is GWS airplanes and 1/16th off-road buggies. The Hextronic servos fit, snug, so be prepared to remove material, if neccessary. Also, don't bother buying too many replacement gear sets, because the servo motors burn-out and provide plenty of extra gears to transfer, if you strip a new servo.
