Can someone please confirm to 100% if this have a Silabs or Atmel cpu in them? Not from any that is bought say 6 month ago but very very newly bought ones within max a month and preferably these newly restocked ones.

The documentation that comes with this ESC (I bought it 5/28/2014) does not say anything about having either a Silabs or Atmel CPU, (or about having any CPU at all, for that matter), the only thing it says that could have anything to do with this is it says it has a "Separate voltage regulator IC for microprocessor (except Plush-6A and Plush-10A) with good anti-jamming capability.).

Yea well to answer my question someone would -of course- have to take the shrinktube off to see what CPU that is used.

this says its a 25a with a 30a max for 10s, but there isn't a 4 in 1 that says its 30a on this site. will this work with Turnigy D2830-11 1000kv Brushless Motor or not. I'd like to use this one because i'm sure it can be flashed with simonk and BLHeli firmware. If not can you recommend a 4 in 1 30a that can be flashed for me please. thank you

can this be used on a trex 450 11.1 volt system . the heliois flybarless.
 FlyingTJ 36 points
"NO" .... It will work for at first but at some point the BEC will over heat or you will draw more than the 2 Amps it can handle. Running a flybarless system the servos should be digital and draw more current than regular servos. In short you will loose power to the RX and crash. Spend the money and get a 40 amp ESC with 5v-6v switchable BEC at 3 amps or better. I have not had any trouble out of the TURNIGY K-Force 40A Brushless ESC. Good Luck.

After soldering the proper connections, plugged everything in and it works perfectly. Didn't have to program it or anything.

Using the throttle stick on the transmitter and the instruction manual you can program stuff like timing, braking, battery type, low voltage cutoff mode, etc, but it can be used straight out of the package (after soldering) without doing any of that.

Any motor recomendations that would work with this ESC on A Eflite Blade 400?
Rodrigo  4 points - 7/6/2014
need i the programming card to make he work or i can use the esc without the programming card?
 aidanb 79 points
You can use and program it without the programming card, it's just easier to program it with the card.

I bought this speed controller for my 450-class helicopter. It seems to be perfectly suited for similar helicopters (t-rex 450, zoom 400, sjm 400, ...). It weight and price is much lower than the 40 -A-version. It has 40 A peak current, which is far enough (the average consumption of the helis above is usually less than 15 A). The speed controller works perfect and has a smooth throttle curve, would buy it again (and probably will).

These are HobbyWing Speed controller which are absolutely fantabulous!
I love them and have almost their whole range of esc's. Use them on all my planes and have show good efficiency and reliability through the years!
If you have used hobby wing ESC's you know what i am talking about. Get a programming card as well, its super easy to use and will be worth every cent.

ONE FLAW is that the governor mode hardly works well with helicopters. Using the 40A version but without governor mode as it won't hold the headspeed up well. Using a throttle curve is safer. Either that, get a jeti or CC for heli. Its perfect if you are not doing 3D though!

Nice ESC, a bit of a pain to program with your transmitter, but do-able. If you do get this ESC, get the programing card, it'll make things a lot easier.
