Does anyone know the maximum refresh rate of Turnigy Plush ESC's?
 anikeev 1296 points
Looks like you want to build a multirotor, huh? Well, I didn't measure refresh rate, but this ESC can be flashed with BlHeli firmware (almost same to SimonK). But you need to solder some wires to it and you need a flasher (i use arduino, because I have it)... Anyway, you can take a look on AFRO ESC - it's already flashed with SimonK firmware and it's very good for multirotors: quad, octo, hex, etc. Hope that helps. :)

How do you flash these with Simonk?
 anikeev 1296 points
Some of them are non-flashable (different chip or so) with exactly SimonK, but you can flash it with another firmware if you want to use this ESC for multirotor. But you need to remove shrink tube from ESC, solder a couple of wires to PCB, have a flasher (I use arduino just because I have it)... If you're not so good in soldering it's better buy ESC already flashed with SimonK. Like AFRO ESC.

I have just bought a HobbyKing Bixler 2 EPO 1500mm with 2 1800 mAh Lipoly Batteries and this controller but after the first tone it emits only beep tones (one sec interval) and the Brushless motor doesn't move....Whit the radio I can move servo...

Please refer to the user manual, which should inform you on the signification of the beeps. There is probably something with your throttle signal, it's likely invalid or not at the minimum. Also don't forget to calibrate it (procedure in the user manual too).

Does anyone have experience with these esc with naza lite? I have programmed them with the card byt i get a lazy start from 2 of the four motors. Its not until i get to 40% throttle they turn on.

You have to calibrate the end points! (be sure to remove Propeller bevor do this!) Plug the ESC to the gas Chanel, turn on your transmitter and give full trottle, then turn on the ESC, after a peep switch gas fast to minimum Position. Du this with all escs and they will run as you want. Hope that helps!

Smoking Turnigy Plush - 25A OK, I just attached my Turnigy 25A speed controller to my Turnigy 3s 11.1V, 2200may battery, Spectrum 4Channel receiver and Turnigy motor and it got hot and started to smoke a bit....!! Uhmmm, first time i put it together and I am worried. Did I do something wrong?
 Kimmerek 332 points
I had similar issue with other brand ESC. But it was my mistake. During installation I've done some short circuit (for a split second) because of missing shrink tube. In my case I've burned also one cell on my 3s lipo...

27 thumbs up!
I hooked my 25A Plush up to a 3s 2200mAh Zippy & Turnigy C2830 brushless outrunner and the ESC doesn't beep, doesn't start the motor, nothing. I can move the servos that are connected to the Rx, but I can't get any throttle response or the beeping that the manual references. Any thoughts on how to get my motor going, or why the ESC isn't beeping?

The newer version includes another plug which will connect to the charge port of your Lipo for pack monitoring (low voltage protection). This is not shown in the photo. It is not mandatory to connect this. Unfortunately I cannot use these in my GWS 38 due to the size and extra . I will reserve this pair for other projects or replacement in existing planes. The photo should be updated, as the extra wiring causes more space limitations and should not be cut off.

I bought 2 of these to put into 2 HK450 Heli's with KD KA450H motors and Zippy 3s 2200 battery. One smoked on the first flight. The other has been performing perfectly. It was very easy to program with the programming card that Hobby City also sells. I think I just got one that was a dud.

This esc is really good. Compared to other china-made esc is really much better. Lots of very useful programmable options. Better throttle curve etc.

On the other hand it has a little problematic startup with my motor POT 200W. I tried every possible setting, but even with the one with best results i crashed due to the fact that motor went out of synchronism with esc. Czech made esc i used before were always ok.
