I want to use this esc for 450 quad with ntm 28-26 1200kv. Purpose of flight is to photograpy not for race. Do we need (or isit doable) to flash it with updated firmware such as BLHeli
 Atomiclemon 3 points
No, you dont HAVE to update the firmware but it is possible if you have the correct equiptment
 anikeev 1541 points
You don't need to flash it, if you're going to fly for photo.

Hi. i dont suppose there would be any reasons you shouldnt use these escs on a quadcopter?
 anikeev 1541 points
It's pretty good and cheap for quadcopter. It can be reflashed with custom firmware to get more accurate response. If you're going to build 250[ speedy quad for competition - this ESC is definitely not recommended.

I recently built another foamy and installed the Turnigy Plush 25A running a Propdrive 28-26 1200KV motor. The reciever I am using is an Orange R620. With this setup the servos for rudder, aileron, and elevator does not return back to center after movement to full extent. Example if I turn left it will center ok, but turning right it is a little right of center each time. Changing servos did not fix it. So, I changed the ESC out with one from another plane and everthing is centering correctly. Put the Plush 25A back in the plane, problem centering returns again. I think there is a problem with the ESC. It causes a lot of control issues. HELP!!

ESC can cause this when servos take too much power, or when something is wrong with electronic fields. You can try to mount RX as fas as possible away from ESC. You can also screen all servo wires with foil.

does this have a yellow xtc battery connector, thanks
 anikeev 1541 points
This ESC comes without any connectors. You need to buy some bullets to connect motors and some XT60 or whatever to sonnect it to the battery. That requires soldering skills, of course.

When they say user program "by controller", what does that mean? Will I need any other peripherals to program?
 EricBR 405 points
it means that you can program the esc using the sticks on your radio transmitter. you start with the throttle stick to the max, plug the battery to the esc and wait for specific beeps.
 anikeev 1541 points
You can use specific program board that will show all settings with LEDs. The board lets you program ESC more easily and obviously but it works only with specific ESCs. I can't find any programming card designed for Plush-series. But you still can program it with your transmitter. When you buy this ESC you'll get a paper card where all programming scheme shown.

27 thumbs up!
I hooked my 25A Plush up to a 3s 2200mAh Zippy & Turnigy C2830 brushless outrunner and the ESC doesn't beep, doesn't start the motor, nothing. I can move the servos that are connected to the Rx, but I can't get any throttle response or the beeping that the manual references. Any thoughts on how to get my motor going, or why the ESC isn't beeping?

The newer version includes another plug which will connect to the charge port of your Lipo for pack monitoring (low voltage protection). This is not shown in the photo. It is not mandatory to connect this. Unfortunately I cannot use these in my GWS 38 due to the size and extra . I will reserve this pair for other projects or replacement in existing planes. The photo should be updated, as the extra wiring causes more space limitations and should not be cut off.

I bought 2 of these to put into 2 HK450 Heli's with KD KA450H motors and Zippy 3s 2200 battery. One smoked on the first flight. The other has been performing perfectly. It was very easy to program with the programming card that Hobby City also sells. I think I just got one that was a dud.

This esc is really good. Compared to other china-made esc is really much better. Lots of very useful programmable options. Better throttle curve etc.

On the other hand it has a little problematic startup with my motor POT 200W. I tried every possible setting, but even with the one with best results i crashed due to the fact that motor went out of synchronism with esc. Czech made esc i used before were always ok.
